A point to keep in mind for us duffers - the image cannot be made any more clearer than at the resolution it has been taken at, in the first place. So - if you have a blurry small image, when enlarged, it is a blurry large image. Options in most printing software allow you to enlarge the images

Good advice for taking photos of lace at home. For photographs on the spot, at a museum though we have to work with the hand held. Another thing I thought of, if one has just the cell phone camera, take the snapshot but don't choose the send option which has a sub-option of saving, save directly
