I am using
I'm really looking forward to the answers to this survey as I'm new to
lace making and although I suppose I could answer the first question,
the second one is way over my head atm.

Here are my choices - I was going to quote and answer after each item, but
there is a lot of space needed for that - so I'll shorten the reply:

For Q1 most would be cotton with exception of cushion cover -
linen, scarf - silk. Pictoral piece silk or cotton.
Q2 - a There are a lot
of color choices in the larger threads already but hardly any or none in
the finer threads.
