[lace] Knipling lace design program

2013-02-06 Thread Jean Nathan
In December 2005 I bought a Windows version (says it's for Windows 98 or newer, but wouldn't like to say if it would work with anything above Vista) of Knipling (English), and I didn't get on with it. I found it a chore when it should be a pleasure. It's been sitting in a cabinet for over 7

If you want to use the same thread for the fillings as you use for the cloth stitch and ten-stick then yes, you should enlarge the fillings by the same amount. Brenda On 6 Feb 2013, at 09:59, Miriam Gidron wrote: If I enlarge my pattern by, lets say, 20% would I have to enlarge the

Hi Jean, and all, I have my copy of Knipling since 2002 with an update in 2009. I often work with it alternating with Lace RXP, depending the type of lace I am designing. My OS Windows 7. I think that while RXP is very good for designing geometric laces, Knipling is excellent to work with

Dear JJ, We cringe each time we read a letter from someone who clearly wants to make lace, because we have worked so hard to eliminate barriers to learning. You say there is no one nearby to learn from and the nearest person may be 125 miles away. Very often, there is someone closer,

I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you again to all at Arachne who helped me when I first started lace. Living in a small country town, no other lacemakers, let alone teachers around, and just a book (Rosemary Shepherd's Introduction to Bobbin Lace) to learn from, getting started was

The good part about helping by emails and photos, rather than Skype, is that you both don't have to be there at the same time. My student can send me her picture even if I'm not home (or as she often does, late at night - she's a night owl, I'm a morning person) - I can look it at my leisure and
