I was lucky enough to find at a car boot a very old sewing case which also
contained several packets of large darning needles, each packets holds 25
needles so plenty to share. Considering how old they were the needles are
perfect and very useful for sewing knitting etc as they have large eyes.
Thank you, very interested in seeing this as I was lucky enough to visit
Hampton Court and watch the ladies renovating and repairing. Also we had a very
interesting talk on the work carried out there. If you get the chance to go I
recommend it

Me too Jeri, I have been double spacing (as I was taught at Commercial school)
When did the single spacing come in? I shall continue to double space as was
taught, it looks better to me. How can you understand the meaning without

Another useful tip I collected a while ago from Arachne was to purchase a fly
tying tool from the fishing shop for a few pennies , it grips the broken
thread beautifully while tightening the other two threads.

While I have absolutely sympathy with all those poor people who have lost
everything in those terrible fires, I just cannot understand that couple who
went back to their home and found their dog still alive? I just could not have
left without my two dogs to think they would die in the fire

After my classes finished just as I was getting to grip with Bucks Point I
didn't want to give it up, so I bought a polystyrene block and put an exact
copy pricking on it as I worked it I put the pins in the corresponding place I
learnt a great deal doing it that way as I progressed I slowly

I think it all depends on how you have stitch it on, if you have used the four
sided stitch it is quite safe to cut right up to the stitches as it is so
secure I have even used tweezers to pull a few more threads out so no material

When we went to Turkey we visited a factory where they made carpets and rugs,
the silk ones were beautiful but only woven by very young girls some only

I went on Saturday with other members of Norfolk Lacemakers to demonstrate at
Norwich Castle in the Fashion Passion show which was a platform for all
things fibre and fashion. There were many others doing all sorts, knitting,

Sad news about Michel Jourde I am at present working the dragon he designed for
Lace Express and as I have also been working on several other projects I'm
sorry to say my dragon rather got pushed to the rear, so now I will get him
down again and finish him in Michel's honour.

I was very disappointed at first when our classes folded because of numbers
going down because they put the prices too high. But it was a blessing in
disguise, because before when I had a problem I just asked my tutor and she put
me right, but with no teacher I had to sort out my own problems
