Living in Jerusalem, I've been around real bombs a couple times, usually when they've
been detected and detonated. I haven't been in the vicinity during a real bomb attack,
although I think Miriam was around when the refrigerator bomb went off in Zion Square
in the 70s. We had a suicide bomber
Sharon, this sounds very much like a recipe I've seen in one of my books at home. Does
your friend have any Middle Eastern connections? I recall a kind of cookie made in a
mold (I think it had nuts in it but I'm not positive) that would melt in your mouth
because it was made with very high
Sharon,
Now I see that I was conflating two different recipes. The ones that I recall that
were made in a mold were filled cookies. These are the melt-in-your-mouth walnut
cookies. They're very easy and quite good. Believe me, they're incredible when made
with butter.

Sharon,
This is the other recipe I was thinking of. These cookies are made in a mold and
stuffed with walnuts.

How noble of you to represent all of Britain. I'm sure that your father's military
career must be a great comfort to those who lost family in the Holocaust.

Patricia,
If you reread Liz's message you will see that she was not responding to
accusations that her own parents did not do enough but that *Brits* did not
do enough. I quote:

I think it's time to close the burned house thread on Arachne. We've heard

Yes, the history is quite accurate, from what I recall on the copyeditors'
list. In Israel we call it a strudel, which isn't too far from the Swedish
cinnamon roll.

Hi, all,
Our archives are public because we use a free archiving service

I thought I was doing pretty well, until I started chatting about

Sure, it's possible to put together a database for your employer, but I
wouldn't recommend MS PowerPoint. MS Access would be more appropriate and
accessible. You may be a bit out of your depth if you've never designed a
database before, but it can be done. I recommend that you do some homework,
Here's a lace book, presumably from the 60s, that I've never seen before:

Someone should show the cover model, before she freezes to death. Seriously,
PS. Lynn, if my earlier suggestion doesn't work, try this:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Select Tools Internet Options.
3. Click the Programs tab.
4. Click Reset Web settings.
