There is a cartoon in today's paper.
it is of Highgrove House (Charlie's pad) with two policeman outside the
gates. In the foreground are a couple and their somewhat unprepossessing
daughter.
The man is holding a newspaper with the headline 'Charles to marry' and
saying to his daughter Go
The marriage of Charles and Camilla was not a total surprise to me since my
friend who loves the British royals had already told me that the Duke of
Norfolk had been negotiating how it might happen. Why would the country's
foremost Catholic family be involved in these negotiations, I asked.
So Charles is going to marry Camilla in April. At least she won't be Queen
Camilla, but Princess Consort (assuming Charles outlives his mother and sons
to become king), in the meantime she'll be Duchess of Cornwall.
I'm not religious, but am glad it's not going to be a church wedding - if it

then complained when what she had done backfired on her!

After all, that was the Duke of Windsor's problem.
I thought it was clever of Charles a few years ago when he went about saying

Didn't he decree the C of E first, and then the divorce? ;)
Much nicer than beheading.

I think it's great that Charley has finally decided to marry Camilla. Why
shouldn't he have the same rights as his subjects? The title of Defender
of the Faith was awarded to Henry VIII by the Catholic pope for writing a
treatise on the Catholic faith long before his divorce from Catherine of
Thanks Jean for the news. I'm feeling a little shocked even
though it's none of my business G. It's nice that the social
climate can be taken into account to make this wedding
possible. But I still miss Princess Diana!
I have read about the comment Camilla made to Prince Charles
