The marriage of Charles and Camilla was not a total surprise to me since my friend who loves the British royals had already told me that the Duke of Norfolk had been negotiating how it might happen. Why would the country's foremost Catholic family be involved in these negotiations, I asked.

Actually, I think the problem may be that Camilla's first husband is alive. After all, that was the Duke of Windsor's problem. I thought it was clever of Charles a few years ago when he went about saying that the Church of England came into existence because of a divorce, Henry VIII's. Devon
