Hi All,
I had a wonderful time last evening, demonstrating bobbin lace at the Opening
of Amazing Lace - A Delicate Construction at the White River Valley Museum
in Auburn, WA. (a suburb of Seattle).
Lori has a notice of it on her Lace Fairy web site.
The show is the work of L.A.C.E. (Lace Arts
Dear Lacemakers,
Tess and I work together a lot, and I know she will not mind if I correct the
name - it is Alan (Summerly) Cole. (Not Arthur.)
A couple years ago I wrote a book review about a biography of Henry Cole,

I received one as a birthday gift and have been using it for the last couple

it sits nicely on my pillow and doesn't move around because of the

two both feature narrow laces that are made with the 5-hole ground made
entirely in double stitches. This ground may be more familiar
Hi Sally and everyone
I have De Linnenkast 3 and have seen De L. 1, 2 and 4 . There were the 4 in
all; the first two at least are out of print but there should be copies
somewhere for you to access. I bought #3 from Trillium Lace.
I have not seen the Austrian folders.
Also Kant magazine has
That's cool. Too bad they didn't add a few spiders' in there.

One of the Fiber Optic lamps by the same artist is currently on display at
the Museum of Arts and Design's Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting show in
New York. It is nicely displayed so that you can see the braided structure of
the top of the lamp.

We can tell a lot from buttons - our mother's 'button jars' are a gold mine
of information if you know what to look for.
The only lace buttons that come to my mind are the needlewoven covered
buttons called Dorset buttons.

I can't think of a perennial cornflower with sharp leaves, they all have
