I really hope that the Import Delphi project has been fixed also.
Else, Lazarus is not of much use for many many people.
Yesterday, it consecutively crash and burn every time I tried to import
a tiny Delphi project. Once it even restarted the almighty Ubuntu box.

Does that mean, that not one most recent version exists? Why are
there multiple working versions?
Agree with this. Can anybody provide a hint (for those that are too lazy
to Google which version should be actually used), which is the link to
the recommended downloadable version?

Hi.
I just upgraded from Lazarus .26 to .28 (Ubuntu). However, no shortcut
was created on my desktop or in my Start menu?
How can I run Lazarus?
There are about 50MB in /lib/lazarus folder, but I don't know which file
is the actual program to run.

-compiler (= 2.2.4-3)
3. That is the name of the file that I should run? I can do a search for it.

Is there an icon from the Applications/Programming/Lazarus?

Hi.
I just upgraded from Lazarus .26
I have found only the source code of the IDE:
/usr/lib/lazarus/0.9.28/ide/startlazarus.lpr and lpi
It looks it isn't compiled Right?
I supposed that the DEB packaging will do all the job for me. Do I have
to compile it or something?

Did you force installation or not?
I have not even the slightest clue. I just open the package in GBebi and
pressed the Install button. For two out of four DEB files it worked.
There is any easy to use installer (like the Setup files on Windows) for
Lazarus?

startlazarus binary. I have my
own location which would be of no use to you and I don't use the deb
distributions so I can't tell you where it would be placed. I use SVN
to get the latest and greatest.

Thanks Andrew.
I had the old version. I just uninstalled. I wanted to upgrade to the
new version.
I can share my Subversion commands and you can have the latest and
greatest that way
Thanks but I am interested in using the stable version. I think that the
night builds may be unstable
The RPM is also not working:
#!/bin/sh
rpm -ev fpc
rpm -ev fpc-src
rpm -ev lazarus
rpm -ivh fpc-*
rpm -ivh lazarus-*
r...@ubuntu:/KIT/lazarus_0.9.28 RPM# ./get_lazarus.sh
error: package fpc is not installed
error: package fpc-src is not installed
Maybe you need to fix the dependencies as I told earlier.
Sorry :)
I just looked over your two emails but you didn't said nothing about
dependencies or how to fix this?
Where can I find the tool that fixes this?

The problem is that while trying to install the latest version of
fp-units-rtl, it failed with the message: fp-units-gtk2
So Lazarus cannot be installed because of this.
