and PC2 with linux and support for VLan, would be the
configuration ok? How can I get the access port
support instead the trunk port?

If PC1 and PC2 are VLAN capable machine, and interfaces used are of
the correct VLAN tag, the whole system will work.
The access port support can be achieved by using combination of
non-vlan interface, vlan interface and bridge. For an example, you
want to make eth0 as access port for vlan 10,

Where can I specify send hostname in bering 1.2, as was customary in
dhclient.lrp
I'm on a cablemodem and have droppped dhclient in as a replacement for Pump
but prefer to use pump if I can get it to authorize me (send specific
hostname) since Shorewall ties in

If you run lsmod, you should see something like:

I am trying to set a vlan configuration, and reading
the guides or tutorials about Vlan I came up with some
questions that maybe you can answer me.
What I am trying to do with my configuration is
creating two machines PC1 and PC3 in a VLAN ID 10 and
PC2 and PC4 in VLANM ID 20.
I get two station in ad-hoc mode, making some benchmark with ttcp i get the results:

How long after a clean boot (or more exactly, how much data was
transferred) before you did these tests? The errors shown are much
higher than I would expect! Your signal strength levels are excellent,
you really shouldn't be having much trouble! However, those signal
