[leaf-user] Re: DWL 520 rev E work around
Looks like the trouble traces to grep(ing) past a certain byte offset in /proc/net/hostap/$1/debug. As a work around I created a directory wlan0 in /etc/firmware/hostap and modified some lines in /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/hostap-utils. Also had to tweak grep line in load_secondary from pri_only=1 to pri_only=0 Could the grep thing be a bug in the OS. Not a pretty solution but the NIC loads the firmware OK and radio passes data. Likely a better coding fix can be found. load_primary() { echo load primary if [ ! -d /proc/net/hostap/$1 ]; then echo Host AP driver data for device $1 not found in procfs. return 1 fi cp /proc/net/hostap/$1/debug /etc/firmware/hostap/$1/debug if grep -q no_pri=1 /etc/firmware/hostap/$1/debug; then echo Downloading primary firmware $2 to interface $1 $PRISM2_SREC -gs $1 $2 $PRISM2_SREC -gp $1 $2 fi return 0 } load_secondary() { echo load secondary if grep -q pri_only=0 /etc/firmware/hostap/$1/debug; then echo Downloading secondary (station) firmware $2 to interface $ $PRISM2_SREC -rp $1 $2 fi return 0 } From: Jim Munro [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: leaf-user@lists.sourceforge.net CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [leaf-user] Re DWL 520 rev E some progress Date: Mon, 01 May 2006 22:29:58 + Hi Eric, Thanks for the help. Jim There are 2 documents on the madwifi site that describes the hostapd setup: http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs/WPA_PSK_on_Both_Ends (the Now do the AP side part) and http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs/HostAP I followed the last document to setup hostapd on my atheros NIC. This are the modules I have loaded: # Atheros wlan wlan_wep wlan_scan_ap wlan_tkip wlan_xauth ath_hal ath_rate_sample ath_pci autocreate=none I think you missed the wlan_tkip module. [leaf-user] hdsupp - issue solved
Thanks Andrew!. Increasing syst_size to 60M solved it. Looking back I guess I really had 2 issues, this one and the fact that I had left an internal compact flash in the PC without completely disabling it in the BIOS. The PC was booted from a thumb drive and the hdsupp package(s) was loaded by leaf.cfg on the thumb drive. Once hdsupp loaded, leaf.cfg was read from the internal CF causing packages to load that were not specified in leaf.cfg on the thumb drive. This lead to a lengthy troubleshooting session. It's all tidied up now. Tip - remove or completely disable internal storage that you not longer need. [leaf-user] Raspberry Pi files
Hi The only raspberry pi set of files I can get to work is Bering-uClibc-5.1-alpha1. Looks good so far but I am still waiting for a usb to ethernet adapter to arrive in order to test further. The other releases since then seem appear to have problems. When I go to edit the config files, I get a screen with unintelligble symbols and letters. I follow the same steps building the sdhc ram. Nothing seems out of the ordinary on the boot screen. A bit of an update. If I quit to a shell prompt I can edit the various config files manually with nano. Invoking the editor from the menu screens seems to be the issue. Does anyone have ideas or suggestions? -- Dive into the World of Parallel Programming The Go Parallel Website, sponsored by Intel and developed in partnership with Slashdot Media, is your hub for all things parallel software development, from weekly thought leadership blogs to news, videos, case studies, tutorials and more. To fix your issue, you have to change the default editor in /etc/profiles from e3ne to nano, logout and login again tosee if that helped. If so don't forget to save your configuration. hth kp -- Dive into the World of Parallel Programming The Go Parallel Website, sponsored by Intel and developed in partnership with Slashdot Media, is your hub for all things parallel software development, from weekly thought leadership blogs to news, videos, case studies, tutorials and more. [leaf-user] p9100.lrp troubles
Hi, I'm using the p9100.lrp module on leaf bering 5.2.6. Nothing will print to the parallel port on the leaf box. Getting this error in syslog when I print from the network: Feb 16 03:19:57 firewall p9100d[10300]: /dev/lp0: No such file or directory, will try opening late lp0 does not appear in the /dev directory. I do not have anything configured in modules.lrp specific to the parallel port. I thought find and load modules for hardware would take care of it. The parallel port is enabled in bios and seems to be detected by the OS. It does not look like there is anything in /lib/modules that might pertain to it. Help anyone? Re: [leaf-user] P9100.lrp
Thanks Andrew, I loaded an old release and discovered I failed to include lp in modules.lrp. My mistake and I should have read the documentation more closely. Its working fine now.
