But if we are European (not EU) as I am happy to be then that's the price (or
not) that we pay. Also we will still need to have free movement whether in it
out like Switzerland and Norway and still pay the EU but with no say on
anything.
In my experience the influx of Europeans had been
The Brexit debate IMHO boils down to two things:
1) Xenophobia, no sorry, ahem, let's call it immigration.
2) the French & Germans having a part to play in any law in the UK. Even if
it's perfectly sensible. WW2 ad nauseum.
1) is laughable given there are more immigrants from outside
Superb result and five team GB lasses in the top ten too!

I think the difference is that they were moving from a foreign country and you
were moving within the same country.
Most don't save and go home, most stay. That's not in any way a criticism of
them, but I think we should have a say who comes to our country and the way in
which they come.

Still don't get it. I can and intend to move to France or Spain one day and I
can without much hassle. People come here but a lot come work and go home. I've
known many from work, 2 or 3 years of using their skills to improve my business
saving up and then going home. No difference to Brits
Agree it's fair enough mate.
We're also generous with ancestry visas - which means if you do have an English
grandad, you can get indefinite leave to remain and a route to citizenship
anyway. Though they are talking about getting rid of that.

I wasn't being serious mate.
But perhaps citizenship laws might be more fair if we didn't have to deal with
300,000 new residents per year. Numbers which on any view are unsustainable.
Yeah yeah, they work shit jobs, English people are lazy blah blah. They still
use our public services, which
That's fair enough isn't it? One English grandad isn't enough to be British
citizen. If you have had kids and their kids are 2nd generation outside the UK
then how can that be enough? Some people could have 2 or 3 passports then.

UK citizenship rules have nothing to do with the EU. Rules are set by
parliament. EEA (different from the EU) citizens have a specific path to
citizenship, just like people with British parentage, but born

Yeah please do. If your kids don't get a passport, it's another leave reason.
I think you can only pass on British by decent one generation. Thus, my kids
will be British, but their kids won't unless born in the UK.
