Re: [LU] Leedslist Digest, Vol 8, Issue 37

2011-02-21 Thread seanscribe
I think a lot of these are good questions. I'm still curious about where the
money we got from Spurs and Chelsea for nicking our youth players went, plus
the six million quid from Villa for Delph, etc. However, all that being said,
it does cost a lot of money to run Leeds United. We've got a big squad with a
bunch of internationals, including some like Kisnorbo and Nunez who never
feature in the first team. And if the reports of what folks like Schmeichel are
getting paid are actually correct, then that's a lot of cash going out the door
as well.

I've asked before but never gotten a good answer on exactly how cup revenues
work (i.e., for instance when we play Arsenal or ManU at Highbury/Old Trafford,
how are the gate and TV revenues divided).

Cheers!

Sean

Bates is always banging on about shit like this.

What I'd like to know is where the money from 31,000 people paying on average
of

£20 - £30 goes ?

I'd also like to know where all the revenue from the FA Cup game with Arsenal

went ?

I'd also like to know where all the revenue from the FA Cup run last year went
?

including a 70,000 crowd at Old Trafford.

It's certainly not all going in taxes and certainly not all going on George

McCartney's f*cking wages.

Moaning old c*nt !

'session pints'! Ha

We're big into Ossett Brewery Ales down here in Wakey. Fernandes is my new
local - if you've not been you should go.

As for the nonsense about Tetley's - you've obviously never had it in the new
wheel, Wrenthorpe. Delicious!

Don't they sell Leeds Brewery stuff there now? Leeds Pale is one of the best

[LU] From the economist... Looks at the strange brand

2011-02-21 Thread Damian Walsh
...By no means everyone in Britain shares my republicanism. Guillermo’s
wedding day is likely to be celebrated with street parties, weather
permitting. But it does seem that the royal family may have joined the
curious class of brands http://manutdsg.com/splash.html and

back on something that everyone seems to love. Last year I was ordered out
of my car at an army checkpoint by a soldier who said he wanted to ask me
some questions. The interrogation? “How is la Reina Isabel?”...
