[LU] NonLU: Peter Ridsdale in court over Cardiff City Golden Ticket offer
Naughty Peter, honest as ever. FORMER Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has appeared in court charged over last season's Golden Ticket scheme. Mr Ridsdale faces two charges under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and one under the Fraud Act 2006. The criminal charges have been brought against Mr Ridsdale, who stood down as Cardiff City chairman in May 2010, by Cardiff council's Trading Standards department. The Golden Ticket scheme was announced in December 2009, offering Bluebirds fans who buy season tickets early a full refund in the event of promotion to the Premier League. The club also promised to spend the proceeds on players in the January 2010 transfer window. On January 27, 2010, a statement was published on Cardiff City's website saying no new players would be bought. [LU] Pointless team speculation for tomoprrow.
We need goals and lots of themso maybe Grayson will start with 4 strikers! (Which reminds me.I haven'Ät seen any comments on the fact that Somma was not, unless I am very much mistaken, even on the bench on Sat.) Anyway, back to QPRobviously, we are hardly going to get 3 pts and a big GD swing if we go a couple of goals down early on. The ground will be rocking, and Rangers will be totally up for it, so I am sure Grayson will realise that we've got to shut the fuckers up first off. So he won't go gung-ho from the start; but will he dare stick with the relatively successful 442 from last week, or revert to 451? First thing..McCartney has to go. He could bring Connolly back in and move Eric over to LB, or be very bold and play BJ at LB. That may allow him to either play Somma and move McCormack (who has to play) back into MF OR maybe even throw Livermore in. Can't see that happening though. So my bet is Connolly in for Lichaj and otherwise same as last week. With gollops of strikers on the bench ready to be thrown on at halftime once the chavs have all calmed down and the time is right for the big push! ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER (There's it)

Re: [LU] [Non LU] Good omen?
As I said, invest[ment] into productive enterprise - if you are a baker, you probably won't be able to manually make bread anymore (in economically significant quantities) once your in your 70s - if though you invest in a bread making machine with some of your surplus during your productive years then the bread continues to be made after you are in your dotage, so you can continue to eat even though you are no longer directly productive. British and American business preferred to spend the surplus that should have been set aside for pension investment on excess profits (mostly dividends to their shareholders) rather than on productive investment. Like I said I have a great deal of respect for actuarial science, and I don't think there are any surprises in life expectancy today that weren't forseen (and factored into pension calculations) 25/ 30 years ago. The big surprise for companies and therir pensioners is that we don't live in a perpetual bull-market - but then again when you look at the share of profits in our GDP I think that the companies knew that from the beginning! Re: [LU] [Non LU] Good omen?
According to http://www.parliament.uk/documents/commons/lib/research/rp99/rp99-111.pdf life expectancy for a UK male has gone from about 70 to about 75 in between 1981 2011 - say 7,5% increase, I can't find the exact figures at the moment but productivity per worker over the same period has increased by much much more. If we could afford final salary pensions in 1981 (and we could) why can't we today? (clue - the answer is in my preceeding mails ;)) Damian PS I know there are other factors such as migration and often a shorter working life in white collar jobs, but the point is the same On Fri, May 6, 2011 at 3:55 PM, Damian Walsh pussaydam...@gmail.com wrote: As I said, invest[ment] into productive enterprise - if you are a baker, you probably won't be able to manually make bread anymore (in economically significant quantities) once your in your 70s - if though you invest in a bread making machine with some of your surplus during your productive years then the bread continues to be made after you are in your dotage, so you can continue to eat even though you are no longer directly productive.
