Settling into my new season ticket now I'm back in the LOTG, and the
Sheff Utd match was like being parachuted back 20 years to an early
Wilko match in many ways. Blood, guts, long diagonal punts to gain
field position in their half etc.
Team selection raised an interesting poser. If you think a

All,
Thinking of seeing if we can try and organise a Lards match or two
soon, now I'm settled back in Leeds (and I promised Mr Boocock after a

Slightly unfortunately we seem to have a plethora of midweek home

By my slightly geeky maths, as 3 teams that finished above us last season have

Struggle to believe anything Cellino says is worth listening. Utter idiot and

Internet talk tonight seems to be Alfonso Pedraza - Spanish U-21 international
left winger on loan with a 10m (!) purchase if we go up and Ashley Fletcher to
come in from West Ham. Fair do's those two signings would, in paper, be spot on
in terms of what we need.

As much as anything he seems irritated by the timing. We've sold Mowatt just
before a match he would undoubtedly have started (at Sutton) but without having
bought any replacement cover. That clearly negatively affects the squad
rotation Monk can do today with a view to Weds match at Blackburn.
Difficult. He has to be careful with Bartley and Jansson so understandable
leaving them out. Problem is that only leaves him Cooper at centre back. Ayling
needs a break too. Whitehouse selection feels like a bit of a 2 fingers to the
owners for selling Mowatt before buying a replacement.

Monk was pretty much blind luck. How many managers in the last 3-4 years? How
many managers did he try to approach in the summer and knocked him back before
he stumbled on Monk?

As earlier agree with much of test but completely disagree about Roofe. I like
him. He tries to link it up and he is learning every game. Hernandez is a
wonderful different level though. I could watch him all week - lovely
footballer.
I also thought Wood was excellent when he came on.

Able to watch this one streamed online. We looked, especially in midfield,

Revenues don't equal profit of course - you have to buy all the stock etc,
whereas TV revenues are pretty much straight profit.
Plus Bates sold off / outsourced the catering operation to a third party for a
fixed fee. It was actually one of Cellino's best acts to bring that back
in-house so
Fully agree!
From nowhere before this season, we've got the best defence in 15 years, a
cracking midfield talent for the future in Vieira, the best striker in the
division, a creative player in Hernandez who blows hot and cold but when he is
on song is a joy to watch and the kind of player
