I believe it happens because you have to put the screen you wish to use in
focus before you start to make changes, ie. the first click just puts it in
focus or specifies that this is the sceen you wish to use.
This is a feature of Windows.

half siblings to show. I have the box checked but they still don't show. I

gedcom and then import it into a new file making sure that,when
importing, you have ticked the box entitledrenumber RINs. You can
select your starting point so rather than starting at number 1, all

From personal experience, be sure that that is what you do want to do - i.e..,
change the RIN/MRIN numbering, expecially if you have personal File ID numbers
associated with to your research papers based on these numbers.

Why not using Customer ID's, they never change, unless you do that yourself.
Remember, RIN's and MRIN's are numbers created by Legacy in record input
order. They are meaning nothing, but are only nescessary for linking records
within the program.
