I too was always taught that one should use the add/remove function if
available, if not then use the uninstall from the program. I tried both and
neither would uninstall Legacy.

Connie, I'm still on the list, just lurking in the shadows so to speak. You
are having exactly the same problems that I had I believe caused by error #5 in
my case. Any suggestions from all failed to resolve the issue with one
exception. Ron Ferguson suggested that I go into my Registry and
Connie, I should have mentioned in my last E-mail that all attempts to download
over the corrupted legacy file (at least with our problem) will not add the
install.log file back into the legacy file. I tried several times with no
success.

Brian, it would seem to me that in the future when a known problem surfaces,
especially one caused by some kind of programming error, a general statement
could or should be made to all users, not just those on LUG. For instance in a
short newsletter or on the Legacy Home Page that shows on our

I have exactly the same problem. The very first time I used Legacy
after updating I started getting the error and complete shutdown. I looked at
the solution by error number and started deleting .usr files as it suggests.
What I didn't realize is that instead of deleting the USR files when I
Ron,
I did try installing Legacy over the other one and was still unable to
uninstall Legacy. The same error message came up. Could not locate
Install.log file.
I'll try again and see what happens.
