I've seen emails on the newslist from people who asked how to unsubscribe
and I just assumed

dial-up or have monitored time on the internet and forums can be cumbersome
and slow to load (even on broadband!), eating up internet time.
There is a Legacy Fans site on GenealogyWise
I think youve hit on it, Todd. Legacys mapping calls up Bing (was Virtual
Earth) and if there are problems with that website, you'll encounter
problems using the mapping in Legacy.
If you're having problems with Legacy's mapping, go directly to Bing/Virtual
Earth and see if there are problems

The landscape orientation was removed due to formatting problems. You'll
find you have the same problems if you change the orientation in the
Publishing Center.

Legacy never uploads anything to the internet without the user initiating
the act.
Access to newFamilySearch is not available in Legacy at this time. Even
when it will be, the user will have to direct Legacy to upload the files to
nFS.
You can search the IGI (Search Search the IGI Website),
It has to do with the grid controls the programmers use. Being able to sort
by any column is on the enhancement request list.
In the meantime, Ron's suggestion of GenViewer hit the nail on the head.

The Name List is automatically sorted by DOB *if* the names are exactly the
same.
All John Does in the list will be ordered by birth date. If you have a
John X. Doe, that's not alphabetized, obviously, in the string of John
Does.

This is common on 64-bit Vista computers right after updating Legacy and has
been passed on to the programmers to investigate.
In the meantime, if you just close Legacy and reopen it, you shouldn't get
that error message.

Nope. There's no way for users to track their submitted suggestions. They
get passed to the programmers and logged and the ultimate decision whether
or not it's workable is up to them.
In fact, due to the sheer volume of emails, we only respond to suggestions
if the feature is already available

That's not true. I have some other programs which want to be installed to
the root. Never tried installing them to Program Files folder to find out
what happens if they're installed there - I've had enough problems with
losing files which were written to the program folder under c:\Program
Files
In Legacy v7, click on the Marriage Bar and on the General tab (the one in
front), just underneath the Events/Facts for marriages, you'll find the
Married Names section.

As discussed many times before on the list, Legacy must be installed on the
hard drive of the computer you're using to run the program.
I would *never* trust a USB drive for valuable or sensitive personal data.

On the main Gedcom export window, make sure you have selected Override Source
Options.
If you click on the context-sensitive Help button while in the Gedcom Export
window, you'll find the following section in the Exporting Gedcom Files topic:
Override Source options - include everything

You can't add fields to the database.
Use the Event/Facts for Membership Status. You can create your own Event
(see the Help file) and place the status in the Description field. We don't
have drop-down lists for description, but it shouldn't be too hard to
manually enter one of those
