Thanks for taking time to write this thorough post, Terri. This is exactly
what I was tyring to get my head around. I think I can move forward from
here.
Best regards,

Apologies for the long message.
I followed the advice of Legacy Technical Help, as follows;
1. Click Search on the menu bar and select Find to open the Search window.

Paul, I decided to take you up on the challenge and looked at mine. I didn't
find (yet - I haven't gone through all of mine) your error but did find
something curious.
There are only a few of my sources created by the Source Writer, and in one of
these, in the list just created as you set out,
Further to this, the GEDCOM exported the source as:
NSW Registry of Birth, Deaths and Marriages online database, NSW Registry of
Births, Deaths and Marriages, ((http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au)), ), 5540/1937..
What a mess. There we see the extra ), plus an extra period. This is why I

Thanks CE. I usually know that information so I guess that's why I've
never understood the purpose of geo-coding.

Jerry,
I leave the ADDRESS field blank and enter something like, (Smith address:

You may have to play around with it a bit to get it to read the way you want

I don't think the RIN change of some of the records (only a few, as far as I
can see) has materially affected the errors, but it did point up to me that the
errors have not only occurred to the most recently-input data.
Having today also sent my long email direct to Legacy Technical Help as
Sorry to hear that - you seem to be gaining data rather than my problem of
losing it. Maybe it's mine!!
Actually, I've not used SourceWriter at all, as I understand it's not
compatible with the older system I was using when I started which, until now, I
had thought was reliable.

My immediate thought is to ask how many generations you requested at
the top of the application? If it is one, which I suspect, then you were
given what you asked for (you didn't want it but it's what you asked for

check-off or something I was missing. I'll play around with it. --Jerry

Much of the recent discussion in this thread has been related to the problems
exporting Legacy sources written with SourceWriter via GEDCOM into other
programs.
Some, if not most, of these issues, as I understand it, are due to the
limitations of GEDCOM and are not Legacy bugs.
I have found
As a matter of fact, I requested 6 generations. I checked that first.
