I've seen similar god-awful problems in GEDCOM exports of my file, too -- many SourceWriter templates do not export properly to GEDCOM, with either stray punctuation and mis-exported fields (e.g., exporting something as PAGE instead of TITL). It gets worse when you leave a field blank within a SourceWriter template, because then you end up with yet more stray punctuation because apparently the programmers assumed that you would always fill in every field for every citation! I reported a number of bugs related to this over a year ago and they were acknowledged by Legacy staff and supposedly added to their bug tracking system, but have not yet been fixed. It's infuriating because they are such simple problems that were apparently not thoroughly tested.
Yet worse, there are underlying problems with the source clipboard when using SourceWriter templates -- It appears that when you have a SourceWriter source in your clipboard that has a page/roll line (e.g., a census template), and then switch to a more SW source that has no page box (e.g. a written letter or a personal citation), the extraneous fields from the previous template are NOT cleared from the clipboard, even though they are not visible and don't show up within Legacy itself. However, the extra data is written to the database and it's impossible to purge without opening the file in Access and cleaning it up by hand within tblSX. Within my GEDCOM export I've got all sorts of personal letters that include lines like "PAGE T625, roll 1104, Buffalo, ward 20, enumeration district (ED) 172, sheet 14, p.8..." which is obviously not a part of that source. SourceWriter is a major reason a lot of us switched to this program, but it still needs to be capable of exporting to the standard genealogical format for use outside of Legacy.
