How about a compromise? C://genealogy I could put it in the root directory.

Here's a little tip for you.
Nearly all the USR files that can be found in the Legacy folder/directory are
text files and can thus be opened (and edited) with Notepad. The problem is
matching each line in a particular file, with the options and screen to which
they refer.

Further investigation today I found the following:
These images are ONLY linked to a Master Source according to
Multimedia List Report runs that I did on the new copy of my Legacy

Therefore, I decided to add them to an individual to see if that would
change the symptoms. In doing so I

Legacy does not hold any pictures at all, only the paths to where you have

Hi Bill,
The number of pics handled by Legacy is limitless. Legacy does not store or
copy your pics in a separate database. Rather, Legacy links to your current
pictures. That is why you have to tell it where the files are located. Legacy
does provide a folder for pictures if you choose to

Yup, it could be only one picture that causes the problem.
I linked over 25 pics to one individual, most of them larger TIFs, and
that Picture Gallery is always slower to load than the one with over
25 pics in JPG with a file size of 150-200 KB.. That file size is

Howland Davis and Gene A,
I agree with Howland that Legacy does *NOT* provide an Ahnentafel

which passes for an Ahnentafel Report.
IMHO, an Ahnentafel Report simply provides the following:
#1. My name
#2. My father's name
#3.
Michelle,
That wouldn't be my choice but nothing really objectionable about that.
