[LegacyUG] Latitude and longitute not being exported in GEDCOM

2012-03-28 Thread Jennifer Crockett
Using Legacy V 7.5.0.166 Exporting GEDCOM for Legacy It appears that Latitude and longitude are not being exported. Can anyone confirm this? If so, I now wish I had not updated to the latest version. Regards, Jennifer http://colston-wenck.com Legacy User Group guidelines:

While there was originally talk and hopes to do so (see 7.0 Legacy User Manual), it did not happen. But there is an upside. I spent the better part of two months (1 hour per day) reading about sourcing (ESM), going through my sources, revising how I thought about them and how I wanted to make

OK - I have discovered that if I don't load the list I had prepared ages ago, everything is fine. I have used this list forever and it never created a problem before. Below is the list. Any problems there? Jennifer 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 1 1 0 1 *BIRT Birth *DEAT Death *MARR Marriage

[LegacyUG] Event: Place or Residence?

2012-03-28 Thread Marg Strong
I merged a gedcom into my family file, saving the merge under another name. Both were my own files from different programs. Under events I have Place and Residence. Were both in the original default event list? If not I think I saw in the help file how to merge the two. If so, what is the

Place was probably added, maybe from the gedcom you imported?. Residence is a default. Sincerely, Sherry Technical Support Legacy Family Tree On Wed, Mar 28, 2012 at 3:42 PM, Marg Strong tiny...@yahoo.com wrote: I merged a gedcom into my family file, saving the merge under another name.

Hi Jennifer. Did you happen to see my reply before Sherry sent her reply? I know for a fact (unless this has been changed with a later version of Legacy), that you have to create an export gedcom as a Legacy gedcom - you cannot create a gedcom 5.5 and transfer into TNG if you want the mapping

If you don't mind showing more than one place name that is really the same exact location on the map, then you can use whatever variations you have. On the other hand, if you are like some of us who don't want to use extra place names unnecessarily, why not just explain the variations in the
