Thank you Cathy, that has answered the question admirably. I have subs to Ancestry and FMP (and yes I do realise you can initiate a search on any site). I will take note of when free days come up for other web sites - thank you for the idea. Marion On 10 May 2017 at 11:47, Cathy Pinner

Marion, The websites have to provide an API (Application Programming Interface) in order for the Hints to be provided. These 4 are the only ones to have done that. Note that the Hints can be helpful by alerting you to the existence of a source even if you don't have a subscription.

Hi Jane, The core parts of legacy are in the drop box, not the whole program. You cannot run Legacy from a Drop Box or a Cloud account. The main fdb file and a few bits and pieces are in the db. Everything else is where it should be so that it can work with Windows. I hope this makes sense.

On the Hints section I see there are 4 sites checked, including Find My Past. May I ask is it possible to add to the list (eg by adding Ancestry) or changing one of the other sites? I have a subscription to FMP and Ancestry but there is a limit to how many subscriptions I have in any one year.
