Thank you Cathy, that has answered the question admirably. I have subs to
Ancestry and FMP (and yes I do realise you can initiate a search on any
site). I will take note of when free days come up for other web sites -
thank you for the idea.

Marion,
The websites have to provide an API (Application Programming Interface)
in order for the Hints to be provided. These 4 are the only ones to have
done that.
Note that the Hints can be helpful by alerting you to the existence of a
source even if you don't have a subscription.
Think I got it, yes, thanks,

Hi Martha
Thank you very much. Both systems are now up and running. I really only
use my laptop when attending our local Legacy Group classes, so don't
add any new information. My laptop is just a tool really.
Cheers

Hi Maria,

Hi Jane,
The core parts of legacy are in the drop box, not the whole program.
You cannot run Legacy from a Drop Box or a Cloud account.
The main fdb file and a few bits and pieces are in the db. Everything
else is where it should be so that it can work with Windows.
I hope this makes sense.
On the Hints section I see there are 4 sites checked, including Find My
Past. May I ask is it possible to add to the list (eg by adding Ancestry)
or changing one of the other sites? I have a subscription to FMP and
Ancestry but there is a limit to how many subscriptions I have in any one
year.
I use Intelli-share and intelli-merge to keep my LT and PC sync'd. I do
depend on always having internet. Maybe I'm just too old to feel comfortable
not having the program on my own computers.

Carrie,
Yes, I'm well aware of that. I just thought it would be nice if, along with
the hint content, Legacy might provide the appropriate citation. Probably
asking for too much.

Hi Maria,
Down load the Standard version 9 to your LT,
Then take a look at your customer # on your PC, Write it down.
Open legacy on the LT then do this:
The Deluxe features are hidden inside the free Standard Edition. To
unlock the Deluxe features, start the program and click on Help > Unlock
Hi, I recently purchased Legacy Deluxe 9 and have installed it to my
main PC. I now want to transfer a copy to my laptop. How do I go about
doing this.
Cheers

Gene said " will Legacy 9 facilitate in any fashion the creation of a
source citation". So the understanding is there that the source should be
cited, and the answer to the question is probably simply "no"

Legacy hints to the database, that hold the source, the source is what should
be cited, not the Hint.
Hints are just a tool

When a hint proves useful to my research, will Legacy 9 facilitate in any
fashion the creation of a source citation from that hint for easy reference
and use?
Thanks,
Gene

I actually found one the other day by changing (reducing) the resolution
on the second monitor.
I haven't tried Bob's Window - right (or left) arrow yet.
I don't understand is why it got worse with Legacy 9 and why it doesn't
happen in other programs if it is a Windows issue. But I really don't
This is something I've dealt with for years when I was using Win7 and then
again after a fresh install of Win10 and talked with Ken, one of the
programmers, about it. He can't duplicate it and doesn't know what's going
on with it. And yes, I've seen this only with Legacy as well.
I've only seen
No, the missing windows do NOT show in task manager. I've tried that.
