Re: [LegacyUG] Relationship calculation to Family Group Sheet(s)?

2016-05-09 Thread Chuck

Margaret,

Sorry for the delay in answering, I find subject matter hard to track on
users group of this type.

To build a relationship report.

1.

Select from the main Family page your person that the report will
concern. Then go to Tools/Set Relationships and run that to set
   relationships.

2.

From menu bar select Tools/Advanced Tagging.

3.

From Advanced Tagging box select Tag (I left my # at 1), then
   select Ancestors.

4.

Ancestor options box will appear. Select Direct line Ancestors, then
   hit OK.

5.

In Advanced Tagging box, select Close.

6.

From main menu bar select Reports then Other Reports/Relationship
Reports. Relationship Report Options box will open. I changed the
Name Format to Surname,Given names(s), your choice.

7.

Within the Relationship Report Options select Preview to see if your
   happy with the results.

As you can see, each one of those boxes has some options to change your
results. Since you had mentioned a tagged group, I am not sure if this
will be what you want, since I used a family member only.

I am a novice at all of this, hope my instructions are understandable.

It took a 19 page print-out to accomplish that, it is a small tree

Does anyone know if its possible to provide that same information
to a Family Group Sheet?

Seems to me it would easier to discuss the relationship
information on the Group Sheet if that info was available at a glance.

I did submit this same idea some months ago to the Legacy
suggestion area, but have not heard anything back from them.

Thanks for any assistance,

Re: [LegacyUG] Relationship calculation to Family Group Sheet(s)?

2016-05-08 Thread Evelyn ..
Hi Chuck,

I played around with the Relationship Calculator. If you are just
explaining who's who to who (owls again) there is quite a nice report with
the Relationship Calculator (vs. the Relationship Report). I've never used
the calculator before. I don't think it has as broad an application as what
you were suggesting, but I learned something new.

I'll watch to see if a new option becomes available.
