[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126866] Iteration not only bug-laden, but neglected and misunderstood

Hi,

Please note that I'm not being superfluously sardonic nor joking, so don't quit
following.

This specific report is INVALID, because it doesn't describe some single
problem that may be evaluated, tracked, and finally fixed. Instead, it asserts
some "bug of attitude" - which also claims something the OP doesn't know about
(specifically, what "team" thinks of the feature, especially there's no "team"
in strong sense of the word, and so every contributor who decides to dive in
and do something related to Calc is part of the "team", thus any wide-scale
assertions of this nature are invalid).

Here I do not declare absence of specific bugs in the feature; nor even that
there's no flaw in its fundamental design - it's just impossible to understand
what the flaw(s) are from this report, and so impossible to act to fix them.

Even the attachment doesn't describe clearly what should be done and what
should be observed, and what is the expected result, to see bugs.

So - while I close this RESOLVED INVALID, I ask you (OP) to file specific bug
reports on specific problems, describing clearly what is done, what is expected
(and why), and what is observed (and with which settings on which LO version);
and also ask you be constructive (refrain from assertions that may sound rude,
no matter what your emotions might be). Thank you for your effort to make
LibreOffice better!

Agreed. Vertically, we should use "Middle" to better distinguish the two
options. Don't like the two terms combined for the new command but also have no
better idea. Suggestions welcome.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126870] New: Duplicate menu entries for specific user interfaces

2019-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126870

Bug ID: 126870
Summary: Duplicate menu entries for specific user interfaces
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.6.2 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ams.ee...@gmail.com

Description:
Hi, when i use it KDE Plasma desktop with global menu turned on, i see double
menu entries in the global menu bar. Like "File" menu comes up twice and every
other menu shows up twice as well. The most weird thing is one set of menu
contains disabled submenu entries and the other contains enabled submenus. This
only happened for "Contextual Groups" views along with its "Compact" version.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use KDE Plasma Desktop (any version that supports global menu. I am using
5.16)
2. Turn on global menu. To do that you have to add an widget called "Global
Menu" to to panel or desktop.
3. Open up Libreoffice Writer or any other Libreoffice application.
4. Set "User Interface" to "Contextual Groups" (both non-compact and compact
version will do)
5. Restart the application.

Actual Results:
You'll see duplicate menu in the global menu.

Expected Results:
One set menu items in the global menu widget was expected.

Reproducible: Always

Bug ID: 126871
Summary: Enhancement: Use Ctrl instead of shift for

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: notebook22...@gmail.com

Description:
Enhancement: Use Ctrl instead of shift for multiselecting

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create two objects (eg. two rectangle shapes)
2. Select one of them
3. Press and hold Ctrl
4. Click the other object

Actual Results:
5. Only second object is selected

Expected Results:
5. First and Second object are selected.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
Linux and Windows generally use Ctrl. for multiselection of individual objects.
THerefore, I think using Ctrl instead of shift will make the workflow more
user-friendly (Improve external consistency).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126866] Iteration not only bug-laden, but neglected and misunderstood

2019-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126866

Just to be more specific on the "neglected and misunderstood" part:

When in the bug 117049 (that you added to "Blocks:" list), I have made some
assertions on the feature that turned out to be wrong, I still asked for help
from our experts in the area; and our leading Calc developer has jumped in and
corrected me, and fixed the bug. So - it isn't "misunderstood" by "team" (while
it could be by individual contributors), and also not "neglected" (and knows
problems are fixed as time permits).

If one feels that some problem is not getting enough attention, one needs to
familiarize with how this open-source project works, where individuals work on
what they *like*, and corporate contributors work on what they are *paid for*
by their paying customers. So - one needs to either wait for someone getting
interested in a given problem; or to hire someone to fix it; or to jump in and
contribute. There's no other way here. And every helping hand is truly welcome:
we really try hard to help any newcomer in any questions, e.g. when one needs
to setup development environment, to get code pointers, to have changes
reviewed, etc.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126872] New: Textbox: Cannot change "Line color" or "Fill color" through toolbar buttons

2019-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126872

Bug ID: 126872
Summary: Textbox: Cannot change "Line color" or "Fill color"
through toolbar buttons
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: notebook22...@gmail.com

Description:
It's not possible to change "Line color" or "Fill color" of a textbox using the
toolbar buttons without previously setting it up inside the "Properties" page
on the right side.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add new text box ( shortcut: F2 ).
2. Write some text.
3. Find the toolbar buttons to change "Line color" or "Fill color".
4. Press them.

Actual Results:
5. Nothing happens.

Expected Results:
5. Text box gets surrounded by a line / changes it's background color.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:

This might be an enhancement request.

It's counterintuitive, that the available buttons have no impact on the object.

No further input, taking. I'm a bit afraid of manipulating styles as it might
be a regression to move a style below another. Meaning, if a user has defined
Heading Index but not Table Heading the latter will take the parental
information and potentially affect existing documents.

Miklos, could you please take a look on this and the patch I'll submit in a few
minutes (if unit test allow it).

I intentionally broke this, to be reminded to fix all the non-qt5 based
backends. In the end I didn't find the time and actually forgot about it.

Gerrit revert for master: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/77390/

I'll push a 6-3 change after it is merged and I guess it'll be fixed in 6.3.1.

And this is definitely no old / driver related bug. The patch is correct to
handle non-RTL documents in an RTL UI or visa versa, but it needs adaption to
the scroll wheel and smooth scroll handling on all platforms to work correctly,
which is a larger effort.

Hi Caolán, this is another issue introduced by

which you fixed this week. I thought you might be interested in this one as
well

Might be a long shot, but you could try unticking the checkbox:
Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View: Use OpenGL for all rendering

Let us know how it goes.

Is the speed normal?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59803] LibreOffice steals focus from other applications after startup

2019-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59803

V 6.1.3.2 (x64) Win7 64bit
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB); Calc: group threaded

Steps to reproduce:
Libreoffice fully closed
Open a spreadsheet (ods) file with Libreoffice being the default app.

This has gotten so much worse it's really annoying, I don't mind the program
grabbing focus once when it is completely loaded but the program now grabs
focus THREE TIMES on startup at varied intervals.

Please fix this, LibreOffice should be a useful app, not an annoying pest.

But I agree with the original poster, Libreoffice should not steal focus, it
should flash the taskbar button for the app.

The bug has even gotten worse since version 5 which only took focus twice on
startup so far as I can tell although V5 did take focus before it was even
ready.
