[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62260] VIEWING: Text direction and missing characters

2013-08-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62260

Let's focus on the text direction issue in this bug report.

I won't be able to use your workaround for the text direction in my use case.

You probably can't reproduce the font issue because you have more fonts
installed on your machine. I'm using the portableapps package on a clean
windows 7 machine without changing the locale and without installing Office or
a PDF reader which might install additional fonts.

--- Comment #4 from Soumya Boral boralsou...@yahoo.com ---
I find out recently that in Tools Options Language Settings English
sentence checking there is an option called Word duplication which is turned
off by default. If we turn that on, then LibreOffice do points out double words
by underlining both words. However I also found that if the letter(s) of two
consecutive words differ in case ( for example Have have ) then LibreOffice
does not point out this as an error. I think that this is no problem. So I am
changing the status of this bug to Resolved. Thanks to all for your help.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67980] VoiceOver does not inform about misspelled text

--- Comment #3 from Boris Dušek m...@dusek.me ---
Hello Stuart,

thanks for the pointers to LO docs, before I used to google the OOo docs for
the same topic :-)

w.r.t. misspelled, when debugging other bug I discovered there is a huge load
of attributes returned for getDefaultAttributes and getRunAttributes, and I did
not find any documentation defining a set of attributes. So if it was the case
that the set of attributes is LO specific, or at least LO can supply its own
attributes as well, then just passing an attributes informing whether or not
the text is misspelled would suffice.

But it looks like Atk is doing something to mark text misspelled for LO on
Linux et al., so I might just look there and see how it's done. As a matter of
fact, I remember vaguely that Orca indeed does report misspelled on LO on
Linux.

I don't have a LibreOffice 4.0.3 install in handy to see if I experience the
same issue as you. But with 4.0.4 I don't see the issue on Windows XP. Could
you verify that the issue in deed is fixed in LibreOffice 4.0.4 (and later).

Just to let you know LibreOffice 4.0.5 will be released in about two weeks if
you rather wait and test with that version it is a possibility.

I'm going to close this bug for now as works for me. If you still experience
the bug after you upgraded your LibreOffice please feel free to reopen this

I'm retiring on this, because I don't have time for libo in the near feature.

Thorsten suggested me to have a look at the Bitmap classes as a next step,
because there is a high advantage of using cow wrapper. But it can be any
other, too.

One more todo on this:

There is some nice documentation in cow_wrapper.hxx, which doesn't get it into
the doxygen version:

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/include/o3tl/cow_wrapper.hxx

http://docs.libreoffice.org/o3tl/html/cow__wrapper_8hxx.html

The whole 'Copy-on-write wrapper.' with the included code example are missing.

With LO 4.10 create a new sheet and enter a value wathsoever in a cell, let’s
say in D5 enter “ok”

enter in anoter cell e.g. G5 the formula “=D5”

Now in cell G5 same value of D5 is displayed, i.e. “ok”.

Now add a column between columns A and D, for example add a column between
existing columns B and C. Former cell D5 is now E5 (still with value “NO”) and
former cell G5 is now H5, still with formula “=E5” and display “NO”

Change the value of cell E5, enetring for example “Yes”, formula in H5 is still
“=E5”, but display has not been recalculated, and is still “NO”.

Current behavior:

Value displayed in cell H5 remains NO (the previous value of cell E5

Expected behavior:

The new value YES should be displayed.

It happens in windows XP, Seven, Linux Debian (Sid) and PCLinux OS. LO release
4.0.4.2 was not affected (at least in Debian Sid)

Form with a combobox. Try the input Start for the second row.

I have created a form with a combobox. The combobox is filled by SQL. There is,
for example, a text start. Then it is impossible to input a new value, which
begins with a upper-case S, for example Start.

This doesn't work since the beginning of LO.

OK, I've found what causes the rectangles. In that case it's Control
Panel-Region and Language-Administrative-Language for non-Unicode programs.
With that set to English, I can reproduce the rectangles with the *official*
version too, not just the portable. So it's not because some missing fonts.

The corresponding setting in LO is Tools-Options..-Language
Settings-Languages-CTL. You can change it to 'Hebrew' and still keep your
locale settings untouched. In order to change it, you must first check the
'Show UI elements for Bi-Directional writing' checkbox.

I'll change the status back to 'NEW', since it was changed by mistake.

If the concept of document colors wasn't clear, I mean the colors that are in

Since it is located in the Layout settings area of the Format -- Page -- Page
tab, using Number Format or Numbering would be more informative.

But including Page in its label seems redundant. Also would not fit the panel
especially well.

In similar vein, would page numbering format be a good Sidebar Content Panel
addition to the Writer Properties deck?

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the report.
I can confirm the issues.
The first is for 'tables'
For the third : I'm not sure if that is really a (large) bug...

I change the summary of this bug for the second one.
Since issues need to be reported seperately, could you pls make a seperate one
for the 1st (and 3rd?) issue you mentioned? You may still refer to the
attachment in this issue.

Finally: I see the issues are present in LireOffice 3.3.0 already (so probably
inherited from OOo). I set the version to 3.3.0, the oldest known version with
the issue.

Cheers,
Cor

Changing status to 'NEW', as the current behaviour is completely wrong. See
comment #3 and Wikipedia article about 'Hebrew numerals' for more details. The
Item 'א ב ג' should act the same as 'Native Numbering'+Hebrew locale.

Also I'm lowering the severity, as users can get the right behaviour using
'Native Numbering'+Hebrew locale (although it's not easily discoverable).

Thanks for the response. I don't have my computer at the moment, but it was
running the latest version of LibreOffice as at 1 Jul 2013 (I can't remember
which version) and on Windows XP SP3.

Just to be sure, I really mean cell A2 in step 2, the one that was at that
point filled with 1, so after the three steps I should see SN; 2; 3; 4; 5 in
one column.

I have just tried it with the LO 4.1.0.4-packages of OpenSUSE 12.3 64bit rpm

Had a table with 2 columns and 36 rows in the mainform and a table 31 columns
and 9000 rows in the subform. When I change the row in the mainform the data in
the subform appear immediately.
So I can't confirm this bug. I can't test the original LO 4.* together with
ODBC, because LO will shutdown immediately when the connection should be
enabled (see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65830 )

--- Comment #2 from Mirosław Zalewski mini...@poczta.onet.pl ---
I could not reproduce this on either 3.6.6, 4.0.4 or 4.1.0.
After opening Autofilter pop-up you can start typing to go directly to entry
you have on mind.

Selecting only one item might be a bit more complicated than it used to be (you
have to either: (a) unselect all, go to desired item, select or (b) go to
desired item, click first button by All checkbox), but is definitely
possible.

Therefore, I mark this issue as FIXED.

@Pavel: could you verify that this is indeed fixed in any supported version of
LibreOffice?
If it is not, could you rephrase title of this report and provide additional
comment explaining what do you mean, exactly?

--- Comment #1 from Cor Nouws c...@nouenoff.nl ---
Hi Freddi,

thanks for the report. I see it, and indeed think that 'no fill' has the effect
of 'transparant' looks logic.
(However, I did not check with the logic in other parts where this may be
used.)

- Set this as enhancement.
- Set the version to 3.3.0 : it's been this way from the start.

(Note I did not check for possible duplicate issues.)

Cheers,
Cor

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67929] Graphics lists not saved

2013-08-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67929

--- Comment #1 from Olivier Hallot olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org ---
Correction: The illegal path save list error works with the bitmap list but
does not return error with hatch lists, color lists, arrow lists, gradient
lists and line styles lists.

The issue is in an uncatched error provoked by bSaveAsStorage

 bool bSaveAsStorage = xTable-getElementType() == ::getCppuType((const
OUString*)0);

in /svx/source/xml/xmlxtexp.cxx (line 223)

It should be catched in lines

if( bSaveAsStorage )
  xSubStorage = ::comphelper::OStorageHelper::GetStorageFromURL( rURL, eCreate
);

when GetStorageFromURL returns an error. (lines 243,244)

In that case, xTable-getElementType() seems to vary from bitmap to the other
lists and makes bSaveAsStorage change.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49742] FILESAVE: LO Does Not Save Window-Freeze Settings on .XLS files

2013-08-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49742

--- Comment #23 from Scott Drasnin scottdras...@gmail.com ---
bug 67820 implies the root cause here may actually be a read error (on load),
rather than a write error (on save) [Via testing a programmatically created
source file.]

However, bug 51066 provides a work-around: save as .xls when viewing a sheet
beyond the first two.

Run the experiment:

Load the sample file t.xls from bug 67820 into LibreOffice. See that Sheet 1
has a freeze set. Navigate to Sheet 3. It does not have a freeze set. Create a
freeze on this Sheet 3. Save (back to .xls) while still viewing Sheet 3. Exit
LibreOffice.
Reload the file: freeze on Sheet 3 preserved.

To developers / experimenters:
How did an on-save work-around help with an on-load bug?
How does the saved file differ from the original?
Specifically, how does the meta-data (freeze, scroll position) for Sheet 3
differ from Sheet 1 (unchanged?)? ... and from Sheet 4, 5, etc., which do not
preserve the freeze or scroll position?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62176] FORMATTING: Negative indents in styles not saved properly

2013-08-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62176

LO does not export this negative indent correctly to .ppt format, which I'm
going to guess is a side effect of this bug. I am going to have to switch to
OpenOffice 4.1 until this thing is fixed. Unfortunately, I'll have to redo the
font settings in OO, but... I MUST be able to export reliably to PowerPoint (in
order to work with the presentation software our church uses) and OO provides
that currently while LO does not. Going back from OO to LO seems to load in the
correct font settings, at least.
