I tried it now again and now I can reproduce this issue (LO 4.2.2.1, Win 8.1). But it happens only after saving it as a xlsx file and closing it. Before it is not saved and closed I can not see this bug. Steps Done: 1. Open CALC 2. Add a second sheet 3. Go to sheet 2 and write 1 in cell A1 4. Go to sheet 1 make a reference to cell A1 in sheet 2 (=Sheet2.A1) 5. Go to FILE - SAVE AS and save it as xlsx 6. Close LO 7. Reopen the saved file 8. More fundamentally, however, I can open the original spreadsheet in version 3.6.2.2 and all the cells are interpreted correctly with no errors. However, now I see that LibreOffice is barely able to handle 50*5 same (linked) graphics. LO on Ubuntu is unfortunately not capable to handle documents like that. Also allowing lots of memory does not change anything. By the way I realized that while saving, LibreOffice invokes numerous times following commands. I don't know what they are doing (as the graphics are linked to embedded), but they might cost most of the time: /usr/bin/convert - density 300x300 eps:-png as well as a very long gs -q command. In a complex document with formulas and custom drawing elements such as electronic schematics, graphs etc, the formulas are shown correctly and identical in office 2010 and libreoffice writer 4.2.2.1, while the drawing elements are spread throughout the document, and thouse who have same positioning are oriented bad (such as lines, freehand and straight ones). Also dash-dot lines in word 2010 are shown as full lines in writer. When saved in .odt format from word 2010 and opened in writer, the shapes are shown correctly although some bad shaping occurs. The same document in docx format opened in Kingsoft Office, opens correctly, almost exactly as word 2010. So for me any 4.x version is unusable and I still stick to 3.6.7. Problem description: I have a german installation of LibreOffice on Windows XP (select only german language) and Debian testing (install german language packages and remove en-us language packages). Both have the same problem. I start the letter wizard, select all I need and enter what I want. At the end the wizard always creates a US formatted document. The papersize is letter, the document language is en-us, the fold marks are US and so on. But I expect a german formatted document. Steps to reproduce: * Import attached CSV file using the default values (western europe, usa english, row 1, separated by tab, comma, semicolon) * Push the chart button. * Watch calc burn and die instantly. (Tried nuking my user config, no change.) I find it impracticable to understand complex spreadsheets without a detective, which works across worksheets. Therefore, I consider MS Excel to be necessary for understanding a complex spreadsheet, even if one works primarily with LibreOffice Calc. Therefore, I consider this bug to be a candidate for the website Really basic missing features and enhancements (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Really_basic_missing_features_and_enhancements), but I do not know how to nominate the bug for that website. Instead I will nominate it for mab4.1. As the bug is related with the detective Trace Dependents as well, I change the title and try to be more specific with the title. I can confirm the bug for LibreOffice 4.2.3.1 with Windows 7 and for LibreOffice 4.1.3.2 with Ubuntu Linux. Hence I change the platform specification to All. I checked that the bug is inherited from OpenOffice.org. I change the version of first occurrence accordingly. Though I find the bug very important, I would classify it as enhancement.
