[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77328] Cross reference not working with footnotes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80786] Feature request: Function to remove field codes
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80786 --- Comment #2 from Stian Øby Johansen stian@gmail.com --- Thanks for the prompt reply - and sorry if I wrote too much! Just wanted to state my case clearly, as I figured the chances of success would be better ;-) Just tested your suggested workaround, and it did not work much better than the suggestion on the Zotero forums, which was to save as a word document and then open again in Libreoffice and save back to an ODT. Both have the disadvantage of not perfectly preserving formatting. This was my experience with your suggested workaround, cut + paste special (Crtl+Shift+V): - Paste as Libreoffice Writer: Does not remove field codes at all (as should be expected) - Paste as Formatted text (RTF): Best variant. Removes field codes and perserves formatting for e.g. ciations, but does change up some of my heading styles. In other words, not perfect, but an OK workaround. - Paste as HTML: A bit worse than the RTF paste option, as it changes the spacing between paragraphs and footnotes in my test documents. Does remove field codes nicely, though. - Paste as unformatted text: Removes all formatting, including the footnotes themselves - therefore useless for these purposes. Thanks again for replying, and for your suggestion. It works as an barely sufficient(temporary) workaround, but we should also have the perfect solution: a Libreoffice feature :-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

This was reported here: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80771. While Linux users can see that there was an application crash (SIGSEGV), Windows users only notice that LibreOffice freezes. It is no longer possible to close the application normally. Users have to kill it with the task manager. The test was done with 64 bit Windows 8.1. Bugs like the one which triggered this report (which will be fixed in the next releases) can also occur in future versions of LibreOffice. They should be handled in a better way: the user must be noticed that there is a problem with the software. Ideally it should be possible to file a crash report. What happens to the number of the endnote, if you add another endnote before the current one? No matter if you are paid or not your product must work right. (Example 1 in attached picture) after saving the document B1 didn’t show the indentation but A4 did now for the strange part which might lead the root of the problem, on the 2x4 grid of numbers select column A or just the cells with numbers, set the alignment to anything other than align right, so set as align left, centre or justified. now the numbers in column B will show the correct indentation with the alignment. (Example 2 in attached picture) This can be expanded by filling A1 to E4 with single numbers and applying align right and increase indent to all cells, now only cell A1 and B1 show the indent. If you change any of the columns to a different alignment the following column will show the correct formatting then the one after that will revert back to the incorrect formatting. (Example 3). if the final column is set to any alignment then back to default, the first column will show the correct indentation. Its is also not possible to set an indent when right align is set from right click format cells Alignment, it will show the indentation but it is greyed out. I know that a workaround is to set the cell borders to different values to simulate an indentation on the required cells with the required alignment, Changing the cells to RTL a previously mentioned fix in this case hasn’t helped either, although having to go though tools options language settings languages CTL just to enable some formatting seams a stretch too far Setting the right align with indent from cell styles is only possible by first selecting the correctly formatted cells then new style from selection, due to the indentation been greyed out, but is still shows the problems as above Now im hesitant to say but Microsoft office supports aligning right with an indentation, its was from importing an xlsx file that one of my users first found this problem File created with 4.3.0.1 on windows 7 4.0.6.2 on linux shows not indentation at all with the example file 4.2.5.2 on linux initial showed perfect formatting for example 1 after opening the file but after minimised and maximised example 1 reverted to as seen in the picture Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.3.0.1 rc -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80617] UI: Simplification of status bar page numbering
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80617 --- Comment #3 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com --- (In reply to comment #2) ... i think the 'Page 4 / 302 | p. iv' would be more suitable as the 'Page X / X' part wont be moving left and right Fair enough. This also applies to lengthy formats, such as Roman numerals. In this sense it is a consideration, regardless of whether the page numbers are always displayed or contextually suppressed, which indicates the Proposed and Alt.B forms (in the examples below) as preferable. (In reply to comment #2) ... pages which have and dont have a page number. I am not clear on what this means. All pages have a page number (the format of which is set on the Page tab when editing the page style). Whether that number is displayed (on the page) or not is a separate issue. The status bar displays metadata about document pages, and so IMO should _always_ display the current page number (in the set format) as well as the positional information within the document. This also helps indicate the format a page number field will use prior to insertion. In LO (at present) the Page a b / c form only occurs after the point where page numbers have been reset. Pages prior to this point (at least in an ODT) always display Page a / b, when a in this case can take any form of page number e.g., Page 1 / 99, Page A / 99, Page a / 99, Page i / 99, etc. Here is a basic example, using Arabic numerals, renumbering after p.2: Current ProposedAlt.A Alt.B --- - - Page 1 / 99Page 1 / 99 (1) p.1 | Page 1 / 99 Page 1 / 99 | p.1 Page 2 / 99Page 2 / 99 (2) p.2 | Page 2 / 99 Page 2 / 99 | p.2 Page 1 3 / 99 Page 3 / 99 (1) p.1 | Page 3 / 99 Page 3 / 99 | p.1 Under this enhancement request I see pages prior to renumbering as also always displaying in the same form for consistency. Here is another example, with each page after the first using renumbering and a different format each time: Current ProposedAlt.A Alt.B --- - - Page 1 / 99Page 1 / 99 (1) p.1 | Page 1 / 99 Page 1 / 99 | p.1 Page A 2 / 99 Page 2 / 99 (A) p.A | Page 2 / 99 Page 2 / 99 | p.A Page a 3 / 99 Page 3 / 99 (a) p.a | Page 3 / 99 Page 3 / 99 | p.a Page i 4 / 99 Page 4 / 99 (i) p.i | Page 4 / 99 Page 4 / 99 | p.i Automatically inserted pages (e.g., a left filler page prior to a page using the Right Page page style) are not selectable and so no details of these pages can be displayed in the status bar. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80583 --- Comment #8 from Jacques Guilleron guillero...@aol.com --- Hello Kevin, Installed in a new profile, I don't reproduce the issue with LO 4.2.5.2 and Windows 7 Home Premium. When you were generating ANOVA in D1, are you sure you are using A1:B100 as data source? (not only a single cell?) Yes. Dialog window at the beginning was made for that. I can 100% reproduce even I copy A1:B100 anywhere. OK. Those numbers in A1:A100 were generated by using the Edit - Fill - Random Numbers. If I copied them, it's mainly to have the same results with ANOVA. In fact, even the following simple numbers in A1:B2 will get the same ERR 509: 1,2 3,4 OK. There is no problem with Number1 and Number2 separated by comma. In calc, formula both accepts , and ;. For example, =SUM(1,2) and =SUM(1;2) all get the expected results. I don't think so. SUM(1,2) give me 1,2, SUM(1, 2) give Err:509 and delete the comma, and SUM(1;2) give 3. Anyway, for ANNOVA, changing the comma by semicolon give the result into the formula of Total. The formula in E11 was not input manually, it was generated by Data Statistics - Analysis of Variance. So even there was input error, its not the user's fault. Yes. You are right and that has to be fixed. However, the reality is that, there is no input error. (If you copy and paste the exact same formula within E11 to another cell, it get the expected result, rather than ERR 508.) Then again, callgrind could be lying to me - but ... the stack seems to suggest that we create a sub-stream and launch a new fastparser for it each time we hit a footnote here. #1 0xac603a41 in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLDocumentImpl::resolve (this=0x88678d8, rStream=...) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLDocumentImpl.cxx:502 #2 0xac59b428 in writerfilter::dmapper::DomainMapper_Impl::substream (this=0x87a9128, rName=90016, ref= boost::shared_ptr {_vptr.Reference = 0xac72f3e0 vtable for writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLDocumentImpl+8}) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/dmapper/DomainMapper.cxx:3003 #3 0xac638336 in writerfilter::LoggedStream::substream (this=0x87a9ae4, name=90016, ref= boost::shared_ptr {_vptr.Reference = 0xac72f3e0 vtable for writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLDocumentImpl+8}) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/resourcemodel/LoggedResources.cxx:253 #4 0xac6004d3 in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLDocumentImpl::resolveFastSubStreamWithId (this=0x87b1cd0, rStream=..., pStream= boost::shared_ptr {_vptr.Reference = 0xac72f3e0 vtable for writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLDocumentImpl+8}, nId=90016) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLDocumentImpl.cxx:123 #5 0xac60244c in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLDocumentImpl::resolveFootnote (this=0x87b1cd0, rStream=..., rType=@0xbfffd2fc: 0, nNoteId=13) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLDocumentImpl.cxx:311 #6 0xac608e7b in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLFastContextHandler::resolveFootnote (this=0xaaf93328, nId=13) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLFastContextHandler.cxx:895 #7 0xac5fecdb in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLFootnoteHandler::attribute (this=0xbfffd3d8, name=92906, val=...) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/Handler.cxx:44 #8 0xac633b8c in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLPropertyImpl::resolve (this=0x8860998, rProperties=...) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLPropertySetImpl.cxx:168 #9 0xac633196 in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLPropertySetImpl::resolve (this=0x8840de8, rHandler=...) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLPropertySetImpl.cxx:425 #10 0xac60e023 in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLFastContextHandlerProperties::handleXNotes (this=0xaaf93328) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLFastContextHandler.cxx:1141 #11 0xac6c5087 in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLFactory_wml::endAction (this=0x87d76a0, pHandler=0xaaf93328) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/workdir/CustomTarget/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLFactory_wml.cxx:4840 #12 0xac60551f in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLFactory::endAction (this=0x87d26a8, pHandler=0xaaf93328) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLFactory.cxx:262 #13 0xac6084c2 in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLFastContextHandler::endAction (this=0xaaf93328, Element=2165030) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLFastContextHandler.cxx:376 #14 0xac60af5c in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLFastContextHandlerProperties::lcl_endFastElement (this=0xaaf93328, Element=2165030) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLFastContextHandler.cxx:1070 #15 0xac607fce in writerfilter::ooxml::OOXMLFastContextHandler::endFastElement (this=0xaaf93328, Element=2165030) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/writerfilter/source/ooxml/OOXMLFastContextHandler.cxx:249 #16 0xad89e640 in (anonymous namespace)::Entity::endElement (this=0x87b3ff8) at /data/opt/libreoffice/master/sax/source/fastparser/fastparser.cxx:487 #17 0xad8a9206 in doContent (parser=parser@entry=0x88347d0, startTagLevel=startTagLevel@entry=0, enc=0xad8c6d9c utf8_encoding,

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80583 --- Comment #9 from Kevin Suo suokunl...@gmail.com --- (In reply to comment #8) Hi, Jacques. Thank you very much for your useful info. This bug is becoming really interesting. * By default, LibreOffice uses , as separator. (This can be verified when you reset your profile and go to Tools - Options - LibreOffice Calc - Formula - Separators: Function. * When I set the separator for function to ; then follow the steps, I do not get the Err:508. I think this may be why you do not reproduce this bug behaviour. * When I set the separator back to ,, I can reproduce this bug behaviour again. Also: * When set separator to ,, =SUM(1,2) and =SUM(1;2) all get result 3. (=SUM(1;2) will be atomically converted to =SUM(1,2) when you hit ENTER) * When set separator to ;, =SUM(1,2) results #NAME?, and =SUM(1;2) results 3. I hope these information will be helpful. The files are made from a selfmade templates where all sections are write protected, for only changeing the input fields not the rest of the document. To reproduce: 1. open a new writer file. 2. add an input field with text. 3. make the section write protected. 4. try to change the text in the input field. You would be warned, that in the write protected area you are not allowed to write. But I desprately have to do so. Same when you open an old file with input fields in protected sections. I switched back to previously version 4.1.6.2 where all was/is working fine. Very uncomfortable because all extensions and configurations were lost. By The Way: Double-clicking the field does not open an input window anymore - irritating. When not write protected and double-clicking a window opens, which I don't understand - nothning to change (only comment); all I can do at this point is switching between the fields. New normal behavior? After reboot or some time, this folder is emptied (hence the name temporary directory), losing the users document. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create document 2. Email document to yourself 3. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80794] FORMATTING: Right Align with indentation
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80794 --- Comment #2 from Ady ady...@hotmail.com --- I think this is not a problem of indentation or alignment, but of how (and when) the resulting cells are shown with the updated alignment/indentation. For example: 1_ In cells A1 to A4 enter numbers 1 to 4; 2_ Select the cells; 3_ Click align right; 4_ Click increase indent. Initially, cells A1 and A2 show the indent whereas A3 and A4 do not. But using the vertical scroll bar down, in such a way that the 4 cells disappear from the screen, and then move it back up, so the 4 cells would be seen again, the correct indentation is seen. My point is that the problem doesn't seem to be the alignment or the indentation, but the refresh of the result. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80810] New: Mailmerge translates database fields
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80810 Priority: medium Bug ID: 80810 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Mailmerge translates database fields Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Mac OS X (All) Reporter: cpo...@gmail.com Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.3.0.1 rc Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice I'm accessing a MySQL database via JDBC for mailmerge. The writer document contains fields labeled in German like Anrede, Vorname, Name, PLZ etc. These are the exact column labels in the database, and they are also displayed in the database browser (F4). However, mailmerge obviously translates the field names internally, so the fields are not replaced correctly when I select a single row in the DB browser and push the Data in fields button. Replacing the fields works well if I manually rename the field references into the English equivalents (like PLZ in zip, for example). This did not occur in the 4.2 series. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80583] EDITING: Analysis of Variance (ANOVA): DEVSQ returns Err:508, while direct DEVSQ formula returns correct result
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80583 --- Comment #11 from Jacques Guilleron guillero...@aol.com --- Well done! Kevin, you got it ! That's the right explanation. I forgot to look at there. Another difficulty: those parameters are locale dependent. If I set Locale to English(USA), I find comma for separator in functions and indeed this behaviour. But I think this is also the case for some other functions. It's already fine to have this. Firstly cell D4 according to excel has the font aharoni assigned to it but LibO has it with a blank entry in the font drop down (LibO 3.3 - 4.4). Secondly in 4.1 and above, the chinese font used in the other cells of the spreadsheet is shown in the font drop down in chinese as well as in italics, as if its not installed. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80739] FILESAVE: Saving file causing formatting change
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80739 --- Comment #6 from Ryszard ry...@iname.com --- I'm reporting only one bug, even if I saw more problems that I did not mentioned, but since the original file was overwritten I can not show you the problem, my previous comment only explained why I have incorrectly specify last version that was working.
