[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85383] UI: Change close button for a button that allows dock the slide panel (Impress and Draw)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85383 --- Comment #2 from Bastián Díaz --- (In reply to Joel Madero from comment #1 Thanks for your comment. He added that the idea of changing the "close" button, which is always the option to display or quit the slide pane through the View menu. (Both buttons could coexist). Moreover, the isomorphism that had the slide panel with the old sidebar is lost and difficult for new users to identify the feature (in 4.4 is planned to expand/collapse through dock icons). This is experienced in a small introductory course to Impress, where many of the students "closed" slide panel when in fact wanted to "hide or minimize" (that after trying like MS Power Point, which is dragging it to the shore, but Impress has a limit) Thanks -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72787] Allow Calculations Directly in Base Tables
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72787 --- Comment #2 from Ηλίας Ηλιάδης --- This particular enhancement will attract more people in LO. Even a simple addition or subtraction, of fields present in the table (or query) of form, will be good. People like to see, in forms, the outcome of their changes in numeric values. Better is to have them dynamically change during the change of the corresponding fields. A field calculated right after the change is also acceptable. Also a box that will act like a cell in Calc and will be able to calculate, not the present fields but just the values of the controls of the form. I think this is more easier to do or somehow import from Calc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74300] Base:Database "Position and Size" box does not paint - it displays what's beneath it instead
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74300 --- Comment #12 from Jus --- The problem is not fixed. For me it's 100% reproducible. I have an MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti card with the latest Nvidia driver, 344.11. I upgraded to LibreOffice Version: 4.3.2.2 Build ID: edfb5295ba211bd31ad47d0bad0118690f76407d, installing it on top of the 4.3.1.x version that I had. I opened Base and then the database. The database is a simple Alpha 5 DB used for my contact information. It has about 46 fields that are all basic fields like FNAME, LNAME, STREET, AGE, BDATE and some boolean fields. There are no forms defined in Base for this DB. I used the Wizard to create a new form. I selected the first two field, FNAME and LNAME. I clicked Next twice. I selected Columnar - Labels Left and clicked finish. I closed the window that opened. I then right clicked on the newly create form and selected Edit. I right clicked on the first field and selected Position and Size... The window that popped up is just the contents of the screen under where the window popped up. It displays no controls, tabs, or any other program features. If I mouse around left clicking as I do, I eventually hit a field or control. At that point all the appropriate contents appear with the original image vanishing. I can then use the controls normally. One difference from previous versions is that clicking on the Rotation or Slant & Corner Radius tabs causes their controls to display correctly. In previous versions they also displayed nothing but the image under the window. If I right click the field and select any other option, like Description..., Name..., Control..., or Form..., those windows open with the correct contents. It's just the Position and Size... window that does not display correctly. What else can I do to help resolve this issue? I'm not a windows programmer, but I used to program in C and Assembly and am otherwise very computer literate. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69750] Feature request: Preserve last used Paste special options selection for next use
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69750 --- Comment #3 from Jill Miller --- I was going to post this as a new Feature Request until I found that Bug 69750 is very similar. Yes. "Calc has always been this way". That is why we are asking for a change; an option to retain a set of preferred settings for the user. Here's my original draft post explaining my usage and possible change: Problem description: Default for Paste Special specifically excludes Number option. Most of my copies are either number-without-copying-the-format or value-from-formula to number. For both I must uncheck EVERY (or every-less-one) option right down the line and I must do this every time I am working on a newly-opened spreadsheet. I do a lot of this kind of copy and it gets old fast. Steps to reproduce: 1. In three cells insert a number in the first two. In the third, sum the first two numbers. 2. Copy the third cell. 3. Paste Special into the first cell, setting for Number. Current behavior: Requires resetting all or most of the Selection options (only first time after opening Calc). Preferred behavior: Allow user to specify default Paste Special settings or retain Paste Special settings after closing Calc. FWIW, Excel allows this paste operation to be done with four key strokes, (assuming the contents are already in the clipboard): Alt-e (Edit), s (pasteSpecial), v (Value), Enter. In Calc, (but only the first time a spreadsheet is used) the same procedure requires: Ctl-Shift-v (PasteSpecial), p (turn off Paste-all), x (turn off teXt), n (turn on Number), d (turn off Date/time), f (turn off Formulas), c (turn off Comments), m (turn off forMats), o (turn off Objects), Enter. NOTE that this is done only the first time during a session. Thereafter the procedure is simply: Ctl-Shift-v, Enter, THEREAFTER one has to check each time to make sure the PasteAll is not checked and think about what to do rather than letting muscle memory take over. If the PasteAll is turned on accidentally, then no further keystrokes register. Those of us who are touch typists and who do repetitive tasks find that it creates the possibilty of excess errors as well as being annoying. BTW, Jean-Baptiste Faure, I checked your 2/ link and searched my user settings but most of the folders are empty and there is none labeled "registry". I could find nothing which might allow me to reset the Paste Special defaults. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84927] Calc - Errors in function "Conditional Formatting"
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84927 --- Comment #2 from Llogic --- Hi Jacques, thanks for replying. 1. I've downloaded the file that I've previously uploaded and tried what you've suggested. Direct link (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=107731) Action: === Copy format using paintbrush as you've suggested. Result: === Yes, the range is formated properly. Save the file. Problem: Re-open the file and found that the formatting is lost. Observation: Reference Screnshot http://postimg.org/image/e5rtwaen7/ Noticed that after using the paintbrush for formatting, the conditional formatting is visually correct. However, select (example shown here, cell K23) and verify the conditional formatting criteria, it is not there. Therefore when you save and reopen, the formatting is lost. 2. Testing with actual use case - daily update - For actual usage, data are added daily so the conditional formatting have to be done daily - Also the conditional formatting for each row (of the same column) may be different. Just like copying of value and formulas, can the copying of conditional formatting be done as a whole column ? Action: === Using the same file that I've previously uploaded, copy conditional formatting from C2 to C2:C31 Conditional formatting is okay visually for C2:C31 Select column C and copy format using paintbrush. Paste format to column D. Result: === The conditional formatting is copied over to column D but not properly done. The above information for your review. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32521 --- Comment #8 from Eliot the Cougar --- (In reply to QA Administrators from comment #7) I've just tried to reproduce this bug in LO 4.2.6.3, and I must say, the issue has gone much more severe. I've not been able to make the table look what I want. I wanted simple table with no background, plain black borders, thick outside borders and thin cell borders. I've added a table, disabled built-in styles and edited everithing in the table properties. After pressing OK the table got thick outer border, but not the borders between cells... It turns out, every time I set them to be 1pt thick, press OK and go back in that menu, they are 0,05pt thick again. One time the right border of the middle left cell became 1pt thick, but I don't know how. Splitting and merging cells has totally broke the table - I can't edit or disable any borders now. It totally works in Writer. Why can't it work the same way in Impress??? I've attached the file I ended up with. It's a mess. I can't make outer borders thick and inner borders thin. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

There could be also similar dialog window like here - http://www.real-statistics.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/reliability-dialog-box.png - also these other functions are needed for statistics. Example calculations made here - http://www.real-statistics.com/reliability/cronbachs-alpha/ and also here - http://www.real-statistics.com/reliability/cronbachs-alpha/cronbachs-alpha-advanced/ Also it is written here - http://www.real-statistics.com/announcing-release-1-6/ - there seems to be such function like CRONALPHA. This Cronbach's Alpha and other statistical function examples can be downloaded from here - http://www.real-statistics.com/free-download/ Sorry about MS Excel but at least there is possible to look into formulas and functions. Hopefully will be these functions available in future also in LibreOffice Calc. Lot of people are asking about LibreOffice's statistical analysis pack like MS Excel has such (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/about-statistical-analysis-tools-HP005203873.aspx). I would propose to have such statistics already built-in into LibreOffice Calc. This means, that Cronbach's Alpha is not the only one function, what is needed.
