Could you provide a sample document that shows the behaviour ? I have a feeling that this is a duplicate of similar behaviour noted elsewhere. Attachment uploaded. Also, I noticed that if I switch to another application, the entire LO UI gets a little lighter, a mild grey-out. In writer, the application background stays the same color. It is quite obvious that Tango does not look native, nor is preferred on all platforms. In fact, the last two commits to this file added new defaults for OS X and KDE5. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88139 --- Comment #13 from Yury yury.tarasiev...@gmail.com --- (In reply to tommy27 from comment #9) is the bad rendering specific to the 4.3.x branch or the incompatibility with 3.6.x affects all the 4.x series? Just to be precise, this isn't bad render as such, that is, it's not erroneous. The problem is frame height is for some reason changed (reduced) on load, and the formula renderer in series 4.2, 4.3 forms its output w/r to the containing frame height, which is, padon me, absurd design decision! In 3.* and in 4.0.2.1 the formula frame had manual resize blocked. I can't use 4.4 yet, as it crashes on save of this file (any sufficiently big file, possibly?). The rendering of the corrupted height formulas returns them to normal state there, so I have some hope restored (possibly, for 4.4.0.2?). However, from what I was able to notice on short use, the renderer's functioning in 4.4 also has some pecularities. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81475] Meta: enhancing Writer's standard and formatting toolbars
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81475 --- Comment #47 from Heiko Tietze heiko.tie...@user-prompt.com --- To second Jay's reasoning: We asked users [1] about the preferred method to change the text highlight color and paragraph background color. Most people responded that they use the toolbar buttons (n=185, 78%), followed by users who change it through the context menu (n=16, 7%), then users who change it through styles (n=16, 7%). From another survey about Calc [2] we know that styles are not known at all for 25% of the users. If we force them to use styles instead of direct formatting we loose the casual user who does not care about large documents or consistent layout (which requires the usage of styles). https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51371 --- Comment #9 from wusc...@elphenbeinturm.de --- (In reply to Urmas from comment #8) The locale setting defines what kind of a decimal separator will be used. If you have a problem reading your data in en-US locale, attach the sample. You ditn't get my point. There are two settings that would be OK: 1. every thing is imported correctly (US) 2. everything is imported wrong (no option) and one relay bad setting: 3. mainly the import works great but there are a small number of cases that are false; in my case 30 numbers of 15k rows. (de) My problem is case 3 shouldn't exist. The output should either be like 1 everything is right or 2 everything is false but defiantly not mostly right but with errors like 3. Having not working de as default in German versions is the root of errors because you klick OK and are unlikely to spot the error in bing data files because the first 1000 rows look OK. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48571 --- Comment #6 from Wolfgang j...@psilosoph.de --- (In reply to bugquestcontri from comment #4) This feature would reduce a lot of questions in AskLibO. Today was another one: http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/44174/how-to-select-entire-column- while-using-vlookup-function-in-calc/ ACK Also when using not the entire column, and using the formula generator (click the fx icon), Calc should automatically make the references for the corner cell to absolute references. Objection! ... A clicked reference should either be ALWAYS relative or ALWAYS absolute. Software shouldn't pretend to know in every cas what The User is actually needing/wanting. One who designes a formula should feel reliable for the reference cases used. Ceterum censeo: In other cases, in specific with regard to formulae, the same principle should be observed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80137] EDITING: Paste array formula into range pastes as non-array formula
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80137 --- Comment #10 from Wolfgang j...@psilosoph.de --- Appreciate recent comments! In addition: Fixing this bug should be a good opportunity to change the behaviour of array formulae on a 'Fill by DragMouse' procedure. Also before this functionality broke it was bound to pressing Ctrl in addition to the mouse movement. This lacked the rationale. A 'Fill Down but drop ArrayCase while doing this' cannot plausibly be seen as the 'Standard' behaviour. +Ctrl on filling with DragMouse is shaped in many user's mind by its usage filling in numbers (mumerical suffixes). The analogous effect when filling formulae should be 'Dont adapt relative references'. This concept of consequent behaviour might be also extended to the 'Fill' procedures called the menu way: 'Edit' 'Fill' select direction with or without Ctrl. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87684] UI: Calc sheet tabs and horizontal scroll bar are now wasting twice the space
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87684 --- Comment #24 from Andy silva...@katamail.com --- Dear Stuart, I can easily agree that I - as generally everybody - could do more to be involved in LO development. And I was not implying that I was the only volunteer dealing with paid professionals, of course. However, I must say that I would find it impossible, at least at the moment, to find more time to spare to do this. As a academic dealing with statistics and data management, I teach all my courses with LO software; make all exams with it; have pressed and succeeded in having it installed everywhere in PC labs and classroom all over the 3000 students Campus, so that all users - teachers and students alike - have always the option to choose it; I advice and counsel anybody interested in LO on any issue regarding it and ts adoption. Doing this is not without costs, since promoting LO and especially Calc in such a strong and pervasive way, requires a substantial effort - consider that every time an update is applied, I have to check if any problem has surfaced that affects the work I am doing in various courses, and I must do it quickly and thoroughly, both to report the bug ASAP, and to try and find some workaround that is simple and does not cause students to protest it is too complicated or absurd. Sometimes this process turns out to be a big stress test! This fall, for example, the equation editor was missing all lowercase greek letters: you can imagine how difficult this was for us. Or just a couple of weeks later, we had to deal with a significant change in the way the user has to interact with matrix formulas, again something that I use everyday in classrooms, which was undocumented and quite dubious in its rationale. Right now I have two other critical (for the work we do) Calc bugs that I have to live with in classes everyday, still to be solved: copy and paste of matrix formulas in multiple cells does not work anymore; and formula input cells visualization that has partially disappeared, when the same cell is involved more than once in a formula, Sorry for not being able to do more, but that's it. thanks anyway -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88287 --- Comment #3 from Cor Nouws c...@nouenoff.nl --- (In reply to Jay Philips from comment #2) There are a number of toolbars which are not visible in View Toolbars that are only accessible through clicking the drop down arrow buttons in the Drawing toolbar (e.g. Connector, Basic Shapes, Symbol Shapes, etc.). The ability to rip them off and dock them if needed is available to those wishing to do so, but as the drawing toolbar is always on, there isnt much of a need to do so. I know. The example Arrows I gave, was the one I accidentally looked at ;) But it looks as the only exception: others are only accessible from the Drawing tool bar. So remove Arrows from the menu? There's enough to choose from :\ All the items in the drop down are lines (freeform line, polygon, curved line), so i think we could change the button's tooltip to something like 'Lines and Polygons' and the toolbar could be titled the same.
