[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89394] FILE MENU and HYPERLINKs: Freezes/hangs when UNC path is unavailable on windows
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89394 --- Comment #11 from Jan kant...@sra.uni-hannover.de --- Despite my simple fix for UNC pathes I can imagine different solutions: 1. Drop the check (i.e., revert the old commit) 2. Find a magic check to determine if the file is local for every possible filesystem and OS. I don't thing this will ever be possible. 3. Check the files in a different thread. This would require significant UI changes Local Linux NFS/Ceph/GlusterFS/SMB mounts will always have this problem. Same applies for local SMB mounts on Windows (binding a mount to a drive letter). So we either take option 1 and drop the feature. Alternatively, we implement 3 and make a lot of stuff asynchronous. Can we at least merge my change for now? It will fix the problem for most users. Linux users (at least on gnome) do not suffer from this because it uses smb:// or nfs:// urls. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72881 --- Comment #7 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com --- You can check to see if it's a regression (and figure out what exact release caused it). Will be time consuming but greatly appreciated. http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ So my suggestion is test the very oldest release first (3.3) and see if you can reproduce. If you can't, then that means it's a regression. Then I'd take the middle point (let's say 4.0) and test thatkeep narrowing it down until you figure out what exact point release caused the issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35694 --- Comment #30 from G.Ostner (LOBugs) lob...@austrofiction.at --- (In reply to Matthew Francis from comment #29) ... behaviour required by the OpenDocument specification (even though it still seems wrong) quote 19.845.2 text:page-number The text:page-adjust attribute specifies an adjustment of the value of a page number field, in order to display of page numbers of following or preceding pages. The specified value is added to the current page number. If a page with the resulting page number does not exist, no number is displayed. /quote Actually, I filed the same bug years ago against OOo 1.0 or 1.1 under another name and was told by the developers then that this was a WONTFIX bug. If it IS as per specification - and the specification seems very wrong if it is - wouldn't it make sense to remove the feature altogether instead of frustrating users who can't make it work? There is a nice workaround: 1. go to Insert menu 2. Pick manual break 3. Choose page break 4. Choose a page template 5. Choose a page number and check Change page number With this workaround, the feature (that doesn't work anyway, or only works for frankly unsatisfactory values of work), the feature won't be missed. If the workaround is well enough documented and indexed in the online help, it can also be easily found. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90641] New: Cannot sort bibliography entries in the Writer GUI and the Insert dialogue
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90641 Bug ID: 90641 Summary: Cannot sort bibliography entries in the Writer GUI and the Insert dialogue Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tha...@yahoo.com When we enter bibliography entries we use a LO Writer GUI that writes to the database itself (Tools - Bibliography database) When we insert a new entry in the text, we use a special Insert dialogue (Insert - Indexes and Tables - Bibliography entry) The order of the database entries in both cases is the one with which we entered them and we have no way to sort them (e.g. alphabetically by the Identifier field). This can be debilitating in some cases. E.g., I have a long text (~700 pages, ~500 references) and I built the bibliography database after finishing the text. I parsed each page of the text and entered each bibliography reference as I came across it. Of course, the identifiers of each of these references (usually author last names) were not kind enough to be in alphabetical order. So at the Insert dialogue I am faced with an unsorted list of ~500 entries. No way to work with something like that. There should be a way to sort that list so that we can then work with it. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create text and create e.g. 5 bibliography entries (Tools - Bibliography database) with identifiers: orange, banana, apple, kiwi, grapefruit (in that order). 2. Try to insert each of these entries somewhere in the text (Insert - Indexes and Tables - Bibliography entry - From bibliography database). You will be faced with the following list: orange banana apple kiwi grapefruit This list is on random alphabetical order. 3. Multiply x100 and you get the point. PS: Apparently (?), each entry has a hidden field which identifies its order of appearence and it seems to be unique. Could this be useful for bug #60232? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63416 --- Comment #29 from Heiko Tietze heiko.tie...@user-prompt.com --- To put it all together: 1. First row with text only - make it a header, do not sort, do not hide on filter 2. First row with empty cells only - make it a header using 'col XY' or the like, do not sort, do not hide on filter 3. First row with mixed content (text, numbers, and empty cells) - make it a header, (temporarily) convert numbers into text, fill empty cells with col XY or the like, do not filter, do not sort 4. First row with numbers only - make it a header, (temporarily) convert numbers into text, do not sort, do not filter Alternatively we could a) keep the current behavior, b) just add a first row, c) disable sort/filter if no header is present, d) move the autofilter stuff to the table header (column 'A' would be 'A' with a dropdown menu), or e) have the autofilter stuff somewhere else e.g. at the sidebar. But for consistency I'd use the same behavior in all cases, probably like Excel does (haven't one at hand).
