Edit style does work if you:
1. Create table
2. Make it so no cells are selected/blue
3. Select the table as object
4. Edit style from context menu

Then it opens a dialog that has, among others, a Shadowing tab.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92193] New: Window re-drawn at old position after opening doc (un-doing user action to move it)

2015-06-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92193

Bug ID: 92193
Summary: Window re-drawn at old position after opening doc
(un-doing user action to move it)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.0.beta3
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Created attachment 116664
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=116664action=edit
An example spreadsheet which takes a while to read in

If the main window is moved (e.g. with the mouse) while a document is being
opened, then afterwards LO moves the window back to where it was, effectively
un-doing the user's action. It is as if the position of the window is sensed,
then the document is read, and then the window is re-drawn at its OLD location.
This is quite annoying, especially when opening a large document which takes
a number of seconds to read.

I'm guessing the fix is to sense the window position only *immediately* before
re-drawing the window, without doing anything else inbetween those steps.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Start libreoffice on the attached demo spreadsheet.
2. As soon as the window appears (initially empty), move it somewhere else
3. Respond to the Enable Macros? question (yes or now, doesn't matter)

Actual results: The window is moved back where it initially appeared

Expected results: The window should stay where the user put it

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92056] underline dropdown

2015-06-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92056

--- Comment #12 from Andrew android2...@gmail.com ---
The ability to easily choose a dropdown line style, without going
through the dialog, could be very useful feature.

yes it would be a very useful feature... to also have with strike through and
over line.

In general I don't like the idea of a dropdown with commands that are not a
variation of the main button. Dropdown items should either belong to the
same toggle group as the main button, so that they can replace each other
 (like text alignment, or shapes),

why is so hard to think of this not as just the underline button but the line
button. under, through, over. These really are not that different just their
position related to characters. Would you have a strike through and over line
split button? because they could have line styles too. if they could use the
same split button why can't they be in the same split button?

or there should be no main button (which is not an option for underline as
it's much used). Other then that it's too confusing, and also highly
undiscoverable for a new user, that would never ever think of looking for
strike through under Underline, unless he already knows it's there.

Also, if there is no enough room for strike through on the toolbar, it could
be a hidden button by default. That's exactly the purpose of hidden buttons,
to have there much useful buttons, when there is no enough room for them by
default, so that a user could easily add them, without wasting time with the
toolbar customization dialog. Rarely used buttons, shouldn't be in the
toolbar anyway, even as hidden buttons.

So because these buttons are rarely used they should be hidden, actually they
should not even be hidden buttons. yet putting them in the split buttons drop
down makes it hard for people discover them... tell me how are people going to
discover a hidden button/button not in the toolbar at all? It took me a long
time to discover that you could customize the tool bars and I am an advanced
user.

But even the newest user to office tools will eventually decide to look at
whats in the split button just like they will when they choose more colors.

again IMHO I don't think it is a big deal at all to place these three buttons
in the same split button. as they do relatively the same thing. Put a line
somewhere around text.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92194] New: headless renderer not doing mask based clipping ...

2015-06-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92194

Bug ID: 92194
Summary: headless renderer not doing mask based clipping ...
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.0.beta1
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: michael.me...@collabora.com

The attached document relies on 1x bit mask clipping to ensure the gradient is
contained within the shape from the drawinglayer:

#5  0x7fffe05ab768 in drawinglayer::impBufferDevice::paint
(this=0x7fff84f0, fTrans=0) at
/data/opt/libreoffice/master/drawinglayer/source/processor2d/vclhelperbufferdevice.cxx:336
#6 0x7fffe05c4226 in
drawinglayer::processor2d::VclProcessor2D::RenderMaskPrimitive2DPixel
(this=0x1a4d070, rMaskCandidate=...) at
/data/opt/libreoffice/master/drawinglayer/source/processor2d/vclprocessor2d.cxx:910

Unfortunately the headless backend mangles the palette of the bitmap by
mis-allocating the colors; a trivial fix but horrible to find chasing through
basebmp. The use of uninitialized data to provide the palette colors being
rather unfortunate ;-)

Thankfully an easy fix.

Hi, I don't understand what you mean but I'm uploading a screenshot of the
problem done with LibO 4.4. However, I think this is inherited from OOo.

There, you can see the dialog for the Default style for a shape in Draw. It has
already assigned a default bullet (black thick dot). However, it is not
possible to edit the bullet assigned to the Default style: the tab with the
bullet format is missing.

Hi, just tonight, changing again the xls file, the problem still occurred.
I wish to point that:
- the message appears after having completed the save (Save As)
- if I do not exit the file and try to save it again with a different name, the
warning is repeated
- but if I exit the file, reopen it and resave it (Save As) the warning does no
more displays.

Now I ask you: the problem exists, it is regrettably recurring but
unfortunately intermittent: do you want the file anyway?

Indeed. My point is that the present status, IMHO, is suboptimal. And an
approach analogue to the one in the standard sidebar (I mean, the one present
in Writer, Calc, etc) could be an improvement.

11GB is about the sum of my RAM plus swap space, so even without the

--- Comment #3 from Gabriel Diosan gabs...@gmail.com ---
Just to add my two cents worth.

I can't reproduce this with:

LibreOffice Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: 3ecef8cedb215e49237a11607197edc91639bfcd
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:master, Time:
2015-06-20_01:01:56
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8)

On Ubuntu Gnome 15.10.

So, seems Windows specific. Could the disappearing text frame be linked to the
GPU/drivers on the system? Thomas, could you please provide the GPU and driver
version you are using...it may help to track down this issue and help with
reproduction.

Setting to NEEDINFO for now.

Gabriel

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 38093] Functionality request for Writer: Add Outliner similar one in Impress as basis for outlining component

2015-06-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38093

I've been following the OO bug almost since its beginning. Unfortunately, the
discussion there has been somewhat polluted by rancor between commenters.
Consider this a heartfelt plea to avoid this happening here! Please, folks,
keep your comments relevant to the desired feature. If you have a taste for
flame wars, please take them elsewhere.

As a small contribution to this bug, I offer a description I gave several years
back of the outlining capability of Ecco Pro, a Windows PIM:
http://www.compusol.org/ecco/outlining.html.

To be clear, Ecco is not a candidate for an outlining component of a word
processing application or suite. However, I've been using it for well over a
decade as a project/task organizer and tracking tool. The main reason for
posting it here is the ease of managing outlines, including easy restructuring
as needed. It might be useful to review Ecco's outlining functions when
designing the outliner for LO.

--- Comment #2 from Luke Kendall l...@zeta.org.au ---
It would certainly be difficult to retest - I would need to load up my system
once again till it was badly thrashing and nearly out of VM, and then edit my
novel for some time.

Does LibreOffice carefully check for each new and every other memory
allocation, to exit gracefully? If so, certainly another possibility is that
the Linux kernel selected LO as the process to kill, when VM was exhausted -
although that wouldn't explain why there were no backup files for the restore
process when I restarted LO.

In summary: it would be difficult to reproduce; but in a few weeks from now, I
may have time to experiment and see what I can do.

Hi @gmarco,

1) I don't think they are issues, maybe you don't like it, but usually if I
create a cell with reference to other cell with date it will be date.
Creating a new style different than Standard for number and apply it to the new
cell before insert the formula, the style is respected.

2) IF returns a zero in boolean format if the third parameter is omitted, it's
how it works, add a zero as third parameter and you receive a non boolean zero
as result.

Please in the future use one bug by issue.

If you like those working in another way, please fill one bug for any request
as 'enhancement' in the importance.

Same behavior. When the file opens, the pivot table is not refreshed, and the
fields selectors doesn't display the dropdown arrows.

A click in one of the fields, refreshes the whole table.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92197] New: Slow Performance of Calc

2015-06-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92197

Bug ID: 92197
   Summary: Slow Performance of Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.0.beta3
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: riggra...@gmail.com

Tested LibreOfficeDev 5.0 Beta3 on Windows XP SP3
RAM at 50% of 4 GB
cpu Intel core 2 Duo at 2% to 4%

AutoFilter
Opening filter list doesn't display the selections, it needs to scroll the list
to display properly. Selecting the All option, at first works well, but after
the first operation, it began to work slow, not refreshing in the display.
Guessing and applying the filter, performs slow when there are many elements
(but not too many), but, this doesn't happen in calc 4.4.
When filter is applied, entering data in the cells doesn't display until
scrolling the view or changing between applications.

changing between spreadsheets with ctrl – page up or ctrl – page down is slow,
and after changing 3 or 4 spreadsheets, it hangs from 4 to 7 seconds and then
displays.

Erasing the content of a cell, with the delete key, doesn't erase it, as it was
waiting or pending for some refreshing of the spell checker.

Pasting to a cell, doesn't display contents until scrolling the spreadsheet
with mouse, moving the cursor does not refresh or display the cell contents,
unless the whole area scrolls.

When scrolling the cells, with page up or page down keys, it took 9 seconds to
refresh the automatic spell checking

Testing on Windows 8 with Version: 5.0.0.0.beta3
Build ID: 96345c15d8ab19c49014f055fe41ba8e1f421e5c
Locale: es-MX (es_MX)

Performs the same.

Its more visible when changing between spreadsheets with ctrl – page up or ctrl
– page down, after changing 3 or 4 spreadsheets, it hangs from 4 to 7 seconds
and then displays the spreadsheet cells content.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92175] New: Various errors related to comments

2015-06-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92175

Bug ID: 92175
Summary: Various errors related to comments
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: l...@zeta.org.au

I apologise in advance for filling out multiple bugs in one report, but I
thought I could spare the time to do one, but not 4.

1. If the first place you put the cursor after opening a document is in a
Comment, and then you bring up Styles and Formatting, the SF dialogue box
contains no styles at all. Also, there is no Style which I could find which
you could use to change the style/format of all the comments.

2. The release notes say that when printing comments, the body of the page is
scaled down so that all the comments can be read. It doesn't. Long comments
get clipped. (That's how I discovered bug #2, by having to set the point size
to 6 in the comments, on every page, so I could read them on a print out.)

3. The print of the highlighted text which the comments refers to is almost
completely broken. A few highlights per page might match what you see on
screen; most highlighted sections are not printed with any highlighting; some
areas of text are highlighted when they shouldn't be; the highlighting doesn't
always even follow the text (sometimes highlighting halfway between two lines).

4. A minor problem is that when there is a lot of text in a comment, after
changing the font size for all the comment text, the scroll bar's 'thumb' is
the wrong length for the new font size, and often the text disappears and you
have to scroll via the scrollbar's up and down arrows or with the keyboard
arrows, to get the text to appear and the scroll 'thumb' to size itself
correctly.

5. In the comment drop-down menu that allows you to apply the format change to
all comments, on the first occasion I used it, it didn't: it only applied the
changes to all the comments on the current page. I had to do it for a comment
on each of the 14 pages in the document concerned. Since then, though, I have
been unable to reproduce this.

All that said, I'm still finding the comment function enormously helpful, and I
hugely appreciate the fact that it inter-works with Microsoft Office so well.
Kudos!

luke

Hi

(In reply to Zeki Bildirici from comment #4)
(In reply to Jay Philips from comment #3)

How does one activate edit mode after an edit password has been set?
Sorry, I couldn't understand what info should i serve for needinfo tag.

I agree. The Issue is reproducible with your indications.

Step by step:
1. File Open Pass-test-DOC.doc
2. Give the password (a), Document opens

Expected result: read only info toolbar should be displayed
Actual result: it is not

Platform: Windows 7/64 Version: 4.4.4.2
Build ID: f784c932ccfd756d01b70b6bb5e09ff62e1b3285
Locale : fr_FR

So I set status to New. Thank you for reporting.

The additional information requested is on another bug: unable to edit the
document after clicking the Edit button.

Regards
Pierre-Yves

I'd prefer to have UX decide on this default - I've never once thought that the
current placement is bad - you obviously disagree. The deciders in these cases
(where it's just a matter of default preference) is UX.

If UX thinks that it should be done - assign the bug to me and I'll commit a
patch hopefully this weekend.

2015-06-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 92182
Summary: dragdrop of mail merge fields from datasource browser
is broken
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: chrl...@googlemail.com

0) ensure there's a database connection registered (e.g. via tools-mailmerge
wizard in writer)
1) create a new writer document
2) press F4 (openes the datasource browser)
3) open the database (mentioned in 0), select a table and try to dragdrop a
colum header to the writer document

-- I get the clock symbol, but nothing happens. No mailmerge field is added to
the document.

Had this issue with a current libreoffice-5-0 branch, so I assume this is in
the master, too.

Changing the bug status back to new (platform/version was already added
previously). Also, to clarify, these are the steps again:
 Start with a blank worksheet
 Enter b in A1.
 Enter a in A2.
 Enter a in A3.
Select A1 and double-click the fill handle.
-- Does not fill b in the range A1-A3. --
 Enter b in B1.
Select A1 and double-click the fill handle.
-- Still does not fill a in the range A1-A3. --
Select B1 and double-click the fill handle.
 -- Fills b in the range B1-B3 correctly. --
Select A1 and double-click the fill handle.

sorry but this is not the correct procedure.
there's should be a single report about each issue so developers can focus on
each problem otherwise it will be hard to manage too many different problems in

so I close this as INVALID

Different font positions in Writer

Defaults should be the same over all apps, so I tried with Writer. And the
drawback of having a larger sub/superscript is a destroyed type face. Probably
the default is not 33% since just this number leads to a larger line spacing.

The list of events for a document is not or is badly documented.

The list is at Tools - Customize - Events tab.

This list has been enhanced long time ago and not every event is correctly
documented. I miss the exact meaning and the time when the event is triggered.

The help page refers to events associcated to internal objects (OLE objects,
drawinfg objects, images, etc...) not the document itself.

 1- new presentation
2 - insert table of any size
3 - right click - edit style (Note: first time doing this causes the active
area to stop responding, clicking to the notes tab and then back to the
 normal
tab makes the active area respond once again)
4 - showdowing tab - tic add shadow
5 - add text box using the text tool (F2)
6 - text appears shadowed when unselected

is there another way to add shadow to a table?

There is not a shadowing tab anymore. Edit style opens a toolbar where you can
change properties. Table properties gives Format cells - Font Effects - Shadow.

Could not repro the text shadow. WFM.

--- Comment #3 from m.a.riosv miguelange...@libreoffice.org ---
The different size I think is in relation with the matter that ods+xlsx are
compressed files while xls not.

Sorry @ gmarco, but without access to the file, doesn't seem too easy verify
the issue.

Can you attach the file after clear any information that can't be public.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.0.beta3
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress

For the first time the 3d slide transitions really work on my windows box. I
use W7 32 bit. My video card is a Nvidia GeForce GT 520.

But during the transitions, the slides that are being transitioned colour
bluish.
I am happy that the work is progressing so good.
Almost there!
Thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 53075] [EDITING] Calc radio button sends text and not number

2015-06-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53075

--- Comment #4 from Olivier Hallot olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org ---
(In reply to Sören from comment #2)
I can reproduce the problem in
 Version 4.0.0.0.beta2 (Build ID: 4104d660979c57e1160b5135634f732918460a0)
 on Ubuntu 12.04 (x86)

See the attached file, the result of the button in B1 is text (although
Libre Office is able to interpret it as a number).

I'm not able to check the Excel-compatibility, but being unable to return a
number form a form, seems as an error in its own respect.

LibreOffice is able to interpret as number only in simple situations, but not
when the value is used in some functions.

To overcome the issue I have to use another cell where the text land from the
button and use =VALUE() function to get a usable numeric value.
