[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92193] New: Window re-drawn at old position after opening doc (un-doing user action to move it)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92193 Bug ID: 92193 Summary: Window re-drawn at old position after opening doc (un-doing user action to move it) Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.0.0.beta3 Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com Created attachment 116664 -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=116664action=edit An example spreadsheet which takes a while to read in If the main window is moved (e.g. with the mouse) while a document is being opened, then afterwards LO moves the window back to where it was, effectively un-doing the user's action. It is as if the position of the window is sensed, then the document is read, and then the window is re-drawn at its OLD location. This is quite annoying, especially when opening a large document which takes a number of seconds to read. I'm guessing the fix is to sense the window position only *immediately* before re-drawing the window, without doing anything else inbetween those steps. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1. Start libreoffice on the attached demo spreadsheet. 2. As soon as the window appears (initially empty), move it somewhere else 3. Respond to the Enable Macros? question (yes or now, doesn't matter) Actual results: The window is moved back where it initially appeared Expected results: The window should stay where the user put it -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92056] underline dropdown
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92056 --- Comment #12 from Andrew android2...@gmail.com --- The ability to easily choose a dropdown line style, without going through the dialog, could be very useful feature. yes it would be a very useful feature... to also have with strike through and over line. In general I don't like the idea of a dropdown with commands that are not a variation of the main button. Dropdown items should either belong to the same toggle group as the main button, so that they can replace each other (like text alignment, or shapes), why is so hard to think of this not as just the underline button but the line button. under, through, over. These really are not that different just their position related to characters. Would you have a strike through and over line split button? because they could have line styles too. if they could use the same split button why can't they be in the same split button? or there should be no main button (which is not an option for underline as it's much used). Other then that it's too confusing, and also highly undiscoverable for a new user, that would never ever think of looking for strike through under Underline, unless he already knows it's there. Also, if there is no enough room for strike through on the toolbar, it could be a hidden button by default. That's exactly the purpose of hidden buttons, to have there much useful buttons, when there is no enough room for them by default, so that a user could easily add them, without wasting time with the toolbar customization dialog. Rarely used buttons, shouldn't be in the toolbar anyway, even as hidden buttons. So because these buttons are rarely used they should be hidden, actually they should not even be hidden buttons. yet putting them in the split buttons drop down makes it hard for people discover them... tell me how are people going to discover a hidden button/button not in the toolbar at all? It took me a long time to discover that you could customize the tool bars and I am an advanced user. But even the newest user to office tools will eventually decide to look at whats in the split button just like they will when they choose more colors. again IMHO I don't think it is a big deal at all to place these three buttons in the same split button. as they do relatively the same thing. To be clear, Ecco is not a candidate for an outlining component of a word processing application or suite. However, I've been using it for well over a decade as a project/task organizer and tracking tool. The main reason for posting it here is the ease of managing outlines, including easy restructuring as needed. It might be useful to review Ecco's outlining functions when designing the outliner for LO. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92151 --- Comment #2 from Luke Kendall l...@zeta.org.au --- It would certainly be difficult to retest - I would need to load up my system once again till it was badly thrashing and nearly out of VM, and then edit my novel for some time. Does LibreOffice carefully check for each new and every other memory allocation, to exit gracefully? If so, certainly another possibility is that the Linux kernel selected LO as the process to kill, when VM was exhausted - although that wouldn't explain why there were no backup files for the restore process when I restarted LO. In summary: it would be difficult to reproduce; but in a few weeks from now, I may have time to experiment and see what I can do. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Selecting the All option, at first works well, but after the first operation, it began to work slow, not refreshing in the display. Guessing and applying the filter, performs slow when there are many elements (but not too many), but, this doesn't happen in calc 4.4. When filter is applied, entering data in the cells doesn't display until scrolling the view or changing between applications. changing between spreadsheets with ctrl – page up or ctrl – page down is slow, and after changing 3 or 4 spreadsheets, it hangs from 4 to 7 seconds and then displays. Erasing the content of a cell, with the delete key, doesn't erase it, as it was waiting or pending for some refreshing of the spell checker. Pasting to a cell, doesn't display contents until scrolling the spreadsheet with mouse, moving the cursor does not refresh or display the cell contents, unless the whole area scrolls. When scrolling the cells, with page up or page down keys, it took 9 seconds to refresh the automatic spell checking Testing on Windows 8 with Version: 5.0.0.0.beta3 Build ID: 96345c15d8ab19c49014f055fe41ba8e1f421e5c Locale: es-MX (es_MX) Performs the same. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92175] New: Various errors related to comments
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92175 Bug ID: 92175 Summary: Various errors related to comments Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: l...@zeta.org.au I apologise in advance for filling out multiple bugs in one report, but I thought I could spare the time to do one, but not 4. 1. If the first place you put the cursor after opening a document is in a Comment, and then you bring up Styles and Formatting, the SF dialogue box contains no styles at all. Also, there is no Style which I could find which you could use to change the style/format of all the comments. 2. The release notes say that when printing comments, the body of the page is scaled down so that all the comments can be read. It doesn't. Long comments get clipped. (That's how I discovered bug #2, by having to set the point size to 6 in the comments, on every page, so I could read them on a print out.) 3. The print of the highlighted text which the comments refers to is almost completely broken. A few highlights per page might match what you see on screen; most highlighted sections are not printed with any highlighting; some areas of text are highlighted when they shouldn't be; the highlighting doesn't always even follow the text (sometimes highlighting halfway between two lines). 4. A minor problem is that when there is a lot of text in a comment, after changing the font size for all the comment text, the scroll bar's 'thumb' is the wrong length for the new font size, and often the text disappears and you have to scroll via the scrollbar's up and down arrows or with the keyboard arrows, to get the text to appear and the scroll 'thumb' to size itself correctly. 5. In the comment drop-down menu that allows you to apply the format change to all comments, on the first occasion I used it, it didn't: it only applied the changes to all the comments on the current page. I had to do it for a comment on each of the 14 pages in the document concerned. Since then, though, I have been unable to reproduce this. All that said, I'm still finding the comment function enormously helpful, and I hugely appreciate the fact that it inter-works with Microsoft Office so well. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53075 --- Comment #4 from Olivier Hallot olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org --- (In reply to Sören from comment #2) I can reproduce the problem in Version 4.0.0.0.beta2 (Build ID: 4104d660979c57e1160b5135634f732918460a0) on Ubuntu 12.04 (x86) See the attached file, the result of the button in B1 is text (although Libre Office is able to interpret it as a number). I'm not able to check the Excel-compatibility, but being unable to return a number form a form, seems as an error in its own respect. LibreOffice is able to interpret as number only in simple situations, but not when the value is used in some functions. To overcome the issue I have to use another cell where the text land from the button and use =VALUE() function to get a usable numeric value. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
