Works ok for me when doing export to pdf while the print preview is active.

In calc, I'm getting logical results (true/false) instead of numeric results
for simple formulas like =2/4.
It worked fine until recently, possibly until the last upgrade (I'm on 4.4.5.2
now).
This influences also existing spreadsheets, so I'm basically stuck.
Debia sid.
Tried to ask for assistance on IR and on 
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/56957/logical-results-boolean-instead-of-numeric-ones-in-calc/
without reply, so I resolved to open a ticket.

Believe most of the context menus remain source based .src code

Probably should be moved into .UI Glade configurable widgets, but I have no
idea how complex that effort would be.

I planned to bibisect this. However I did not find a single version where
moving to another cell using the keyboard worked after double-clicking into a
cell and then pressing "=".

I also tried with OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 (Build:9567) and LibreOffice 3.5.0rc3
(Build ID: 7e68ba2-a744ebf-1f241b7-c506db1-7d53735) from the
"bibisect-releases" repository.

However, in all versions I looked at, moving to another worked fine when
selecting the first cell using a single mouse click, i.e.:

1. Activate a cell by SINGLE mouse click
2. Click "=" to start formula syntax, then click the arrow keys to select other
cells to form a formula for example (=A3*B5)


@raal: Could you possibly verify again whether it actually works in LibreOffice
3.5 after using a DOUBLE mouse click to select the first cell.


In general, I am not certain whether the described behaviour is actually a bug
or whether the behaviour is OK as it is (I do not feel able to judge this...).

I have had this copy/paste problem randomly for several years. Just installed
5.0.0.5 and it is still there. I have not taken the time to experiment with
when exactly it occurs. But at a certain point it just keeps pasting the same
exact text over and over regardless of copying again from an external source.
Sometimes if I copy and paste from within LO it clears the problem and I can
paste again from outside LO. Would be great if it could be fixed.

I did:
1. create new para style from the sidebar, change font to italic
2. apply style to a para
3. edit the style and change font family
4. works ok

Please confirm the problem is in 5.0.x.
Also, you didn't mention your operating system.

Could not reproduce.
The file saved with iterations on stays that way after looking at the file
saved iterations off and closing Calc.

Please test with 5.0.x.

While I don't have any issues with LibreOffice, I keep hearing the excuse that
"I tried it once and it didn't have this one feature that I needed and
Microsoft Office did" when trying to convince others to try it.  However, they
never remember what the feature is when I'm talking to them.

My thought is that this issue can be mitigated by placing a prominent and
inviting button on the interface so they can report where a feature is missing
or hard to find.

Overall, this would eliminate the current workflow of creating a line hop.
Which is creating a graphic and thus painting over the line junktion.

As some have mentioned, this feature alone would allow us to create proper line
diagrams (network architectures, etc.) using Draw. All other features are
already in place (importing Visio, gallery for images in the sidebar, flowchart
icons, etc.).

Now, I've submitted this enhancement request 3 years ago. What is needed to get
this feature worked on? How can we get the devs attention to this request?

Some further info, and a workaround:

What makes it crash is when I select whole rows, and then try to sort them by
the contents on one or more columns. If I select a rectangle of cells (say
A459:EZ986), and then just sort that rectangle, the sort works without
crashing.

The behaviour seen here is what would happen if I switched text in LTR to right
aligned and started typing. Its unfortunate that this would happen when RTL is

Styles and Formatting tab (bug 91495), but this is only accessible through the
expert configuration setting '/org.openoffice.Office.Common/StylesAndFormatting

similar to this mockup (attachment 115020).

LO did NOT crash for me on the above steps with the development build
master~2015-09-01_06.18.16_LibreOfficeDev_5.1.0.0.alpha1_Win_x86
(and opening the file from inside LO).

(I found the possibly unstable development build after following instructions
on
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg
 , near the bottom.  It worked after I figured out that it installs into
 a separate directory.  It does not override the current install.
 Opening the file from Windows explorer or the start menu 
 will not use the development build.)

Hello, please, can you explain just a little more your point, cause precisely,
the problem is with the data cells when they are merged, does not matter if are
titles or not.

1. The first files are whit cells merged between columns, titler or not, if you
want to filter, all data are bad shown.

2. The second is whit cells merged in the same column (only rows), the data are
well shown, but when you select a value to filter, only show or hide (it
depends what you select) the very first row of the merged range, and the other
rows that share the merged value are still shown by the filter.

beautiful Spanish ;)

It is unfortunate. However, I'm using Version: 5.0.0.2
Build ID: a26d58f11b99b6aeddf7f7884effea188cc6e512 and this build does not have
this bug. Also 4.4 all builds do not have this bug.

I think the issue is restricted to some composed keys, in a quick look to
custom keyboard options, like ";" "[" "]" could be affected.

I don't know what it is in Spanish excel, in 33 years working with
spreadsheets, I have used excel only a few times.

I'm not talking about change default, but if was needed, why not, surely it
wouldn't the first.

I think there are two ways that can go together:

- Add another shortcuts for problematic keys in the most common languages.
There are a lot of unused combinations, I think not a problem having two
combinations for the same.

- Localized, if I'm not wrong shortcuts are localized, so why not this one.

If it's not an issue for you, lucky you, but it doesn't mean the same for other
people, I have seen a lot of times questions about how to introduce a fixed
date in a cell.

BTW, how users know what is happening?, they can tried to use it, but it does
nothing.

One of the main purpose it's make things as agreeable as possible to the USERS.
so this doesn't look for me like a good election, there are millions of
keyboards with non US layout, so it's important to maintain the respect by a
plural world as much as possible.

Win-x86

Steps to reproduce
1. In LO Calc, opened the "example sort file" (2015-08-11 13:44 UTC)
   (Answered "No" to dialog about updating links.)
2. Selected data rows 5 through 77 
   (clicked 5 in left margin, scrolled down, shift-clicked 77 in left margin.)
3. Menu Data / Sort ...

4. Alternative A: sort descending by date

 Sort Key 1:  selected Column E (the date column), 
 and selected (*) Descending 
 (descending is important, because it is already sorted in ascending order,
  and didn't crash if it was left Ascending.)

   Alternative B: sort ascending by description

 Sort Key 1: selected Column F (the description column)
 and left (*) Ascending as is.


5. Clicked OK.

CRASHED (Sort dialog and Calc spreadsheet window both disappear.)

(Often the document recovery dialog appears, but not always.)

(On my file, it also crashed in LO 5.0.0.5? and LO 4.4.5.2.)

In fact, as soon as you click "OK" in Slide Show Settings, it'll use the slide
in From select box.
Eg:
- Go to slide 4
- menu Slide Show/Slide Show Settings
- just click "Ok" (so "All" option is still selected)

Then go to slide 2 and try Shift-F5, it'll start to slide 4.

Of course, if you click "Cancel" instead of "Ok" it doesn't take the slide into
account.

I submitted a patch to review here:

With it I don't reproduce this buggy behaviour, I hope it's the right way to
fix this.

LibreOffice v5.0.0.5 has crashed dozens of times since loading. It occurs when
exiting the saved file and leaving the LibreOffice program open. The entire
program will automatically close and you get a message that it is going through
the file recovery process. The recently saved file or multiple files are all
recovered without loss.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program but the problem persist. I can
find no information online concerning how to resolve this problem.

We have bug 74386 - UI: Provide obvious way to turn full-page text boundaries
on/off, independent from Show non printing characters
and bug 63662 - "Manual Column Break" is visible onscreen even when
"nonprinting characters" is off

that are related or maybe represent exactly your problem?

Can you please look at that?

I think it's a good workflow improvement, so setting to NEW.
I did notice that there is a Custom styles view selectable from the bottom

This is handled in VCL by the FILESAVE_AUTOEXTENSION control.

I've done my tests on LO 5.0. You can test it on Linux by starting with env set
to SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen/gtk/kde4, if the backend is installed / compiled.

Test case is to open a file and the select "save as":

- gen: has a "Automatic file name extension" checkbox (LO native)
- gtk: has *no* checkbox
- kde4: has a checkbox

AFAIK gtk handles FILESAVE_AUTOEXTENSION - I didn't check, what is wrong here.
There definitely is code:

vcl/unx/gtk/fpicker/SalGtkFilePicker.cxx:1673:case
FILESAVE_AUTOEXTENSION:

Now KDE4 is special in an other way, as it has a native handling of extensions
in the save dialog, which also was broken for some time. There is no way to
disable it!

And FWIW: the extension handling feature in the KDE4 file save dialog wasn't
present in earlier KDE4 releases - not sure when it was added.

I believe this may need another look. Although I came across this bug in LO
Base Report Builder, just yesterday I found a similar bug in LO Calc (5.0.0.5)
too. The date gets advanced by 2 days when it is imported as part of
unformatted text with delimiters into Calc. The given patch seems to address
report builder. Would it work for Calc text import too? If not, the actual root
bug may possibly be elsewhere and causing the issue common to both Base and
Calc.

Working with styles in Windows under 5.n.n.n is seriously broken. Makes
cleaning up a document to improve electronic quality with track changes
impossible. Appears to be a regression (works correctly under 4.4.3.2 on
Linux).
Document dependent - does not always occur with documents created elsewhere -
have not tracked down all the circumstances of this. 


To demo:
create new document
add three lines, first and third with text, second line blank,
do edit>track changes
apply a heading level to line2
put cursor at beginning of heading line
press backspace

Actual behaviour
The heading becomes normal text and undo does not reverse the change, but if
you do Ctrl+Z a couple of times and then Ctrl+Y the heading is restored.

Expected behaviour
The heading level is preserved (regression from 4.4.3.2 - Linux)

Then I did not understand your steps maybe ?
What did you mean with "3. Initiate writing any function" ?

If I type +, then If and Enter, I can move the focus to another cell with the
keyboard and create the function as I am used to do...

The attachment is an excel file prepared in Excel 365 with many sheets.

1.Calc takes time to open large Ms office files (.xlsx). Calc exits the system
while saving these files (error popup message not visible). Attached is a
sample file for your testing (c2).

2. If calc goes into document recovery mode for one file, it keeps running the
document recovery mode for all files.

3.Overall the 64 bit version is very sluggish.

Cannot reproduce, with LO 5.0.1.2 (x64) and JRE 80 version 60.

What might help is to load soffice.exe in Dependency Walker, then "Profile -
Start Profiling...", make sure "Use full paths when logging file names" and
"Automatically open and profile child processes" are both enabled, "OK", then
reproduce the problem in LO and in the "Dependency Walker - [SOFFICE.BIN]"
window check the log area for errors while trying to instantiate the JVM.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for filing the issue and the clear sample document and PDF files.
I confirm the problem in 5.0.0.5 and 3.3.0 - so it must be a long standing
issue.

Note: when grabbing the second large frame (RP) with the mouse and dragging it
left, the next frame moves too!

There is a flaw when importing a .doc file originating from MS Word 2010.
The document contains some boxes that are shifted around by LibreOffice.

Attached one can find an archive with three files:

TestBeschreibung3.doc   – file as written by MS Word 2010
TestBeschreibung3_Word2010.pdf  – how it is displayed in Word2010 (target
state)
TestBeschreibung3_LO4.4.5.2.pdf – how it is displayed in LO 4.4.5.2 (flawed)
