I amazes me how difficult solving this problem seems to be: If you look at the
changes to the installer from the last version hat didn't have the defect to
the first version that has the defect, it should be not too hard to find the
cause.

Note that in LO5.x, the button to add images other than the default provided
bitmaps has disappeared, this is a separate (known) bug, so at present this can

I found the cause, see comment 35. It did not help much. For many users
(including me) installer works as intended. I could never reproduce this bug. 
The patch changed an attribute:
-$attributes = 16;   # font files will not be deinstalled
+$attributes = 8;# font files will be deinstalled if the ref count
is 0

Mike Kaganski reports in comment 63 that the font file is deinstalled when the
ref count is 3. It is a bug, but is it a bug in our code? Maybe not.

Please provide us with steps to reproduce the issue, and attach a screenshot of
it. It would also be nice to know what Linux distribution you use, and what
format of the Source Han Sans fonts you have installed (since there are
multiple kinds: fonts subsetted by language, all-in-one, OTF versus TTF, et
cetera).

Predictive text and such might be hard to implement. The user is currently
typing in a hidden text area where Android can modify the text as it pleases. 
But we only send the keystrokes to the server and I assume predictive text /
auto-correct don't generate keystrokes.

And what do you mean by 'keypresses'?

After agree to "Continue checking [hyphenation] at the beginning of the
document?" Writer hangs. Same issue occurred with the previous LibreOffice
version.

I think that the relevant message from the log viewer is: 10/09/2015
01:02:23.000kernel[0]process soffice[772] thread 107040 caught burning
CPU!; EXC_RESOURCE supressed due to audio playback.

A further test was conducted without the incidence has happened.

I looks as if you are right there. But a huge amount of simple problems may be
a problem too. I mean it may be an indication that there is always room for
more people to help ;)

there is no freeze, LO remains responsive, only the password window can not be
closed - it appears to be detached from the thread controlling the Calc

Hmm, something weird happens here, so removing bibisectrequest and regression
tag until I can test further.

After failing to reproduce the buggy behaviour with 4142, I tried narrowing the
range down, but was unable to reproduce the same problem with any further more
recent version, including 5.0.0.5, and even Dev master 5.1 build. It could be a
user profile problem that only appears on first time opening with any version,
but that requires further testing.

It still crashes on version 5.0.1.2.0+ on AwesomeWM 3.5.6-2 for me.

Build ID: 5.0.1.2 Arch Linux build-1
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.utf8)

I also tested this version on KDE (KWin 5.4.0) and Xfce (xfwm4 version 4.12.3
r.7fdcb53 for Xfce 4.12). Both of them don't crash and work just fine.

Before this, on version 5.0.0.5, it crashes on both AwesomeWM and Xfce. I
didn't test KDE because I didn't have it installed at the time.

I tested LOOL demo from my Android phone (Chrome and Browser apps). Editing

How to reproduce :

1) Open a new Calc file.

2) Enter some random strings into any cells

3) Save the Calc file, and tick the option box "with password"

4) Enter password to encrypt the file.

5) Close file and close LO

6) Now re-open file, the password is requested before the file will load

7) Enter correct password, file opens

8) Note how a new entry appears in the Dock menu list of opened files, with the
name of the Calc file without an icon - clicking on this displays the password
entry dialog, which is then frozen.

It the document is opened in Apache Openoffice 4.1.1 all is OK. Then I can do
further editing, saving etc.
I tried to make a new empty writer document in LibreOffice 5.0.1.2 and
copy/paste one chapter from the document in OpenOffice into the LibreOffice
document. It seemed to work fine (with some increasing delays) until the LO
document was about 80% of the OO document. Then, after a Save, the LO Writer
freezes and exits directly.

Google Drive detects somehow, that it was loaded from Android browser, and does

Confirming. This would be a useful enhancement IMO, but as Lionel has said, we
would also need for the UI to provide the possibility to open the default file
explorer and allow the user to point to where the jar file is stored.

We would need to take account of the possibility for confusion / conflict with
the add classpath / archive dialog that is currently used for this purpose
though.

On Mac OSX, there is no default directory for JDBC connectors in general. Most
users just download a zip/tar file, and unzip/untar to the folder of their
choice (more often than not the /Desktop or /Downloads folder out of sheer
laziness).

Suspect that error means that you do not have valid path to either of the
"helper" files that LibreOffice uses to render EPS to vector or bitmap.  

pstoedit or convert (from Imagemagick)

Believe your EPS has a preview--that is what you see when the document is open.
But when printed or exported to PDF LibreOffice has no way to handle the EPS,
and you get the error.

Do things improve (or simply change) if you install pstoedit and/or
Imagemagick? Available from Fink, MacPorts or MacAppStore

Unfortunately, once installed you may end up with issue of bug 81497 --
PRINTING: to PDF with Adobe Distiller or GS based PDF printer, EPS images not
rendered to PS vector for PDF, instead print uses the preview of EPS image.

Paint() sets the mpData values by calling ImplFormat() and ImplCalc(), and

Would you be able to test this on a nightly snapshot to see if the problem is
fixed for you?

If you open up the print dialog and click on the options tab's print to file
checkbox, the OK button while be swapped with a 'Print to File...' button. This
print to file option should always be visible, as many users wanting this
option will miss this useful option found in print dialogs in other apps (bug
75518).

The print to file/pdf option is visible in the default OS print dialogs in OSX,
Gnome, KDE, Windows, as well as in the print dialogs of apps word processors
from IBM Symphony, MS Office (they install a virtual printer), WPS, Calligra
(it uses the KDE print dialog), WordPerfect.

At last friday's design session, heiko, bubli and i were discussing the removal
of the File > Printer Settings menu item as it doesnt provide any customization
of print options that arent already in the Print dialog and in Tools > Options.
Kendy was also in agreement in yesterday's design meeting. So if anyone has
objections of this removal, please do let us know your reasonings.

The option "continue curve" in "outline option" of a diagram is not saved

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a diagram (the 5th type of diagram for example) that gathers a few
data. Don't fill every box (leave blanks)
2. Edit the diagram and dubble clic on the curve
I am using the french GUI, but in english the labels should'nt be that
different :
3. Go to "Tools" > "Drawing tools" > "draw missing values" > select the 3rd
radiobutton
4. The curve has the right appearance (so far so good)
5. Save the document, exit and open it

Actual Results:  
6. Here is the bug : the curve doesn't have the right appearance (it has the
default one)
(personnaly, I have several (4) curves on a single diagram, but I didn't try
with a single curve)

Expected Results:  
There should be a curve without any break

Got this via comment to webpage:

LibreOffice Vanilla on OS X available through the OS X App Store (version
5.0.1.2) has problems printing: the page orientation is always 90 degrees off. 
If you export to PDF and then print, there is no problem.  But doing a cmd-p /
File -> Print, you will observe both the preview and the resulting hardcopy are
printed as though the paper / media is rotated, but the content being printed
is not rotated.  And there appears to be no way to "fix" this by electing
alternate print dialog choices or fixing the page setup.

I just installed the normal LibreOffice 5.0.1.2 from libreoffice.org, and it
doesn't have these problems.

Similar with bug 43614, but on LO 5.0.1.
Does not happen everytime, but very often on some computers.
May be a software conflict ?

to reproduce:

1. open a document in read-only mode
2. press Space

Writer exits with code 139. This happens regardless of UI toolkit used.

Clicking the mouse or pressing any other key prevents the crash; scrolling,
however, does not. So you can view the document, and as long as you don't click
on anything, you can still crash the writer by pressing the Space key.

I tried the same thing with Calc and it didn't crash, so it seems limited to
Writer.

Thank you for reporting the bug. Unfortunately without clear steps to reproduce
it, we cannot track down the origin of the problem. Please provide a clearer
set of step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce the problem.

And please attach a sample document, as this makes it easier for us to verify
the bug. 
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' once the requested document is provided. (Please note that the
attachment will be public, remove any sensitive information before attaching

For me other KDE programs scroll left, if I scroll up and right, if I scroll
down. I just tested kate, which ignores the RTL setting of the locale for me
(tested with LANG=ar_LY.UTF-8).
I'm not sure, if RTL should toggle the horizontal direction handling or not.

And for me the scroll wheel always just scrolls vertically, even if I hover
over the horizontal bar (also with Gtk+). I've just tested using Calc.

The original patch was tested by starting LO with a different locale via
"LANG=ar_LY.UTF-8 soffice". I'm not sure which behavior is correct, so please
state, what you expect. And I didn't test LTR locale with RTL sheet.

Does it work correctly, if you change the backend via SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen or

Language options setting screen. Note the dialog buttons.

I'm seeing issues on a PC I manage where one user is experiencing multiple
interface languages.

The menu bar and most dialog messages are in English (their selected language
both for Libreoffice and Windows), dialog buttons are in Spanish. Right click
menus appear to be Chinese. The user has reported seeing elements in French and
Portuguese as well as other Asian languages.

Multiple languages appear at the same time in different areas of the program.

The problem persists across all instances of Libreoffice (Loader / Writer /
Calc).

Attached is a screenshot of their "Tools->Options->Languages" screen as
currently set. Note the dialog buttons. "English (USA)" is the selected
language for Windows, and the only language pack installed.

- Writing a simple text document, just only formated (attached).
- Pause the writing to try to hyphenate the text (LibreOffice > Tools >
Language > Hyphenation…).
- Hyphenation succeeded without issues until the end of the document.
- After, a window pop-ups proposing to "Continue checking at the beginning of
document?"
- I accept (i.e., click "Yes") that whole document checking proposal.
- Immediately LibreOffice hangs, indefinitely. I must force quit LibreOffice.

‹Clasiqque›, the ‹Réforme 1990›, and the ‹Toutes variantes› versions of the
dictionary]"; "Solver for Nonlinear Programming 0.9"; "Spanish spelling

zuzentzaile ortografikoa 2.0.0 [Basque spelling extension]".

Same thing happens on mac os x 10. When i select all cells on sheet with 1000
rows and 15 colomns and try to change font, even if didn't save any changes,
Calc becomes very slow and it's becomes impossible to continue work.

I created a new Calc sheet and could immediately paste to A1.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED
WORKSFORME, if the problem went away with the profile reset.

According to https://developer.mozilla.org/es/docs/Web/SVG/Attribute/transform,
items in transform's attribute list can be separated by commas and/or
whitespaces, however Libreoffice ignored them when there're commas.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attached file with Libreoffice
2. Observe

Behavior: Square 1 and 2 aren't rotated as they contain commas.

I have experienced the same problem or very similar problem in Libre Office
5.0.0.5 running on Linux Mint Raphaela (17.2). I had a database (created in
Base from a spreadsheet file) with 24 name and address records in it which were
to be printed on an Avery label template (A4 J8165) using 8 per page. When the
print dialog was first run, no labels at all were printed. Using the " killall
soffice.bin" workaround after saving the file and then reopening the file after
killing the process somehow allowed the last 8 of the 24 records selected to be
printed out correctly but the first 16 records just disappeared. Repeating the
procedure and then selecting the first 8 records again produced no output as
did repeating it with the second set of 8 records.

I am running the openjdk-7-jre on the above system.

Not a printer problem as I successfully print multiple page documents from
LibreOffice all the time. The whole mail merge approach seems to be
problematical as the merged document does not appear to be produced before
printing so one is never sure where the problem lies - in the creation of the
merge or the printing of it.

This appears to have been a long standing bug on Ubuntu systems looking back
through previous bug reports.

I have an appication in which I fill the OpenOffice text document using
bookmarks and then save them as PDF (C#, .NET 4.0, VS 2010). The problem is
that when the document filled first time then everything works fine but after
closing the document using API and open new document and try to fill (
Automatically using Uno API) then Uno API process won't get response from
LibreOffice.

Mean second time LibreOffice process won't response on writng bookmarks and my
application process wait for the response of LibreOffice. This results in hang
in my application, as my process wait indefinitely response from Uno API (and
may be Uno API wait for response from running LibreOffice process).

The file is loaded from a template and bookmarks are filled. Program is started
using 

soffice -accept=pipe,name=myPipeName;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager -nodefault
-nologo -nofirststartwizard -norestore

using UnoUrlResolver I have connected to running office instance. It is may be
some bug in Uno API thread or what can be the reason?

As in Apache OpenOffice this bug solving procedure is written 
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=32051 using
"Negotiate=0,ForceSynchronous=1". I have tested my code with Apache OpenOffice
program and there was no problem. But with LibreOffice I have started the
process by including these two parameters but still it hang.

I insert images from file then I resize the images and move them in the right
position.
When I exit Calc and later I open the file I find the images at the right
position, with the right horizontal dimension resized but with the vertical
dimension turned to original. It does not happens every time, but it happens
when I copy the file and rename it and then I open it to make changes.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.insert images and resize them (smaller)and move them and anchor them to cell;
2.close the file;
3.copy and past the file;
4.open the new file (name-copy.ods);
5. images have changed the vertical dimension to original.
Actual Results:  
it doesn't happens every time!

Expected Results:  
images shoul keep the resized dimension

EPS that are missing previews get mangled as generating previews of EPS
requires programs external to LibreOffice that often are not present on OS X
and Windows. Work on bug 67464 will at some point resolve that.

For now, users having issues with EPS should check availability/configuration
of ghostscript, pstoedit and Imagemagick on their system.

Note: Imagemagick's convert and ghostscript handling will be raster--while
pstoedit renders a somewhat rough vector preview. 


Regards the Needinfo of this issue, if you open the ODF document archive, in
the Pictures directory the EPS images are retained into the ODF.

However, despite OPs suggestion of preparation in Finale 2014 the origin of the
EPS differs.

200201BF00414EC65893.eps image -- "cross ex 16" was created in
Finale 2008, it does not have an embedded TIFF preview.

While the 200201EC0073ACD7B0DE.eps image -- "Untitled" was created
in Finale 2012, and has an embedded TIFF preview.

Difference is the lack or availability of the preview when the EPS was created.

Yes this is correct for the Send sub-menu, though i would make an exception to
retain it in the main menu for Writer Web.

Separator is gone in master, but yes shrinking the File menu is quite useful,
especially now that 'Open Remote File' and 'Save to Remote Server' were
recently added as part of the GSoC for the improved CMIS support.
