[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96918] New: Rounding display error for 15 digits integers

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96918

Bug ID: 96918
Summary: Rounding display error for 15 digits integers
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: co...@gmx.fr

Found by DarthGizka on StackOverflow:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34499255/spreadsheet-calculations-with-at-least-the-accuracy-of-a-c-double

Even though internal values are at least precise to 2^52 or 2^53 (precision of
a IEEE 754 double), displayed values are less than 15 digits-precise.

* inputing  999 shows 1000
* inputing 1125899906842623 shows 1125899906842620
* inputing 4503599627370495 shows 4503599627370490
* inputing 4503599627370496 shows 4503599627370500

The displayed values should match the precision of internal values.

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

When the problem originally arose there was nothing obvious to me that the font
had been changed other than the text no longer fit the columns properly.

On further investigation clicking on various portions of the text SHOULD have
shown what font was being used in that area of the text, yet the text drop down
did not change and continued to show the Gentium font instead of the sans-serif
font that was being used.

I am accustomed to the font drop down list to either show the actual font
displayed or nothing to indicate the program can't figure out what is going on.

I am not sure I would associate a font listed in italics with a substitution.
And in any case the substituted font was not indicated at all. The original
font was always indicated. This is shown in the screen shots.

The changes to fix this bug have been applied to master (5.2). The precise
patch is: fbb00383d82da5ce375f1b034d3fb9ebdd9a8f0e

The changes are available in daily builds, etc.

In summary here are the changes to the khmer line breaking algorithm:

1. ZWSP and WJ introduce a 3 cluster break exclusion around them
2. Spaces and other boundaries only introduce a 3 cluster break exclusion if
that exclusion overlaps another exclusion.
3. Open and closing punctuation are ignored for the purposes of exclusion
identification.
4. coengs are handled correctly.
5. The dictionary is frequency based and a maximal match algorithm is used to
identify word break.
6. The dictionary has automatic common misspelling confusions added to give
sensible behaviours for common misspellings.

The final result is a much smaller and more accurate dictionary as well as a
much improved algorithm.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96662] FILESAVE: crossBetween attribute set incorrectly when chart saved as OOXML

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96662

Caolán,
It appears your fix for Bug 93676 is over aggressive. We need to limit to
LibreOffice generated line charts. Only they use defaults that map to Excel’s
“on tick mark”. Even Excel's own line charts default to “between tick marks”.
Both LibreOffice and Excel Bar Charts default to “between tick marks”.

So, we should only force “on tick mark” for native generated line chart. For
native bar charts we should always use “between tick marks”. Ideally, for OOXML
charts that already have the value set, we should pass this value through.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96916] New: Table of Contents Tab stop fills all tabs

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 96916
Summary: Table of Contents Tab stop fills all tabs

  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Reporter: willismon...@gmail.com

Created attachment 121743
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=121743&action=edit
Screenshot of table of contents

The Tab Stop structure element in the Index Table field replaces all tabs in
the entry headings with the selected fill rather than just the tabs where the
Tab Stop element is located.

I've attached a screenshot to illustrate this, but an explanation might be
clearer.

My headings in the document are formatted thus: "1.1Heading Name"

The Structure of the Table of Contents is LS-E#-E-T-#-LE

However the tabs within the Entries get filled with "." which I had selected
for the Tab Stops fill which is placed after the heading in the structure.

I can verify this by changing the headings to be "1.1Heading Name" which
I did for Chapter 1 and 2 in the screenshot. Chapter 3 still has headings with
a tab between the number and the heading name.

It seems like the formatting tool is replacing all tabs on the line with the
fill from the Tab Stop. However, I only want that to apply to where the Tab
Stop is placed in the Structure line of the Formatting window, i.e. after the
Entry.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96915] New: add ability to refer to local names in another worksheet

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96915

Bug ID: 96915
Summary: add ability to refer to local names in another
worksheet
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: lis...@math.uni-bielefeld.de

If a name is defined with worksheet scope, there still are valid use cases
where another worksheet needs to refer to that name. My example is a
spreadsheet document that contains monthly recurring calculations, each in
similarly structured worksheets that define and use equally named cells. To
make this work, the names need to be defined with worksheet scope. The document
also contains an overview worksheet that sums up values from named cells across
the worksheets. The clearest way to achieve this is to refer to these cells via
their names. In Excel this is perfectly possible: the reference syntax is to
combine the sheet name, an exclamation mark, and the name defined in that
worksheet. Creating such a file in Excel and then opening it in LibreOffice
will produce #REF errors.

Solution: make the formula engine treat references of the form sheet!name
(where "name" is not a cell or range reference in the currently active [A1 or
R1C1] syntax) to resolve the name "name" as it would do in the worksheet
"sheet", even if the reference appears in a different worksheeet.

I'm using the documents attached to bug 93565 for my test.
Actually I found the crash when debugging and fixing it.

Steps to reproduce:
 1. Open the odt
 2. Register the ods as the database using the MM wizard step 3 using the
"Select different address list" button. Then cancel the wizard.
This way the DB is registered as an EmbeddedDatabase.
 3. Run a mail merge via File => Print ...
 4. Observe the crash

The crash doesn't happen the 2nd time with an already registered DB.

The crashing state can be easily restored by opening the "data sources" (F4) ->
Right click -> "registered databases..." -> delete the database
"1247_TabAttestati", or removing the user profile.

For me the crash happens in line
  ~/Development/libreoffice/symbols/sw/source/uibase/dbui/dbmgr.cxx:1040

x or y) is not 0). That relaxation is apparently not enough for this particular
issue; but I beleive that the proper fix here would be not to avoid setting the
size as in the patch attached to comment 15, but to completely remove the check
from SwFormatFrmSize::PutValue.

libreoff...@arbruijn.dds.nl, please move on and post improved patch to gerrit.
If you cannot do it, I'll prepare a patch around jan 15th, with proper credit
to you. Thank you for your work!

Thank you, Arno, for helping us to improve LibreOffice.

In the way we use bugzilla, bug status NEW means that somebody beside
the reporter has managed to reproduce the problem and has searched for
potential duplicate bug reports. However, my observations are
sufficient to confirm the bug.

Some observations ...

(*) linux daily dbgutil bibisect version 2016-01-05 just quits without
a core file. The terminal output has nothing very interesting.

(*) I created a .odt with just row 1048576. The same version of
LibreOffice inserted a column without problem.

(*) linux daily dbgutil bibisect version 2015-05-20 issues the message
which Arno quoted. Upon the program quit without a core
file. The terminal output has nothing very interesting.

(*) A local build of commit 93b3199 running under gdb reported SIGSEGV
as the program was trying to display the message box. I have
filed bug 96913 for this latter failure.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93574] Autosaving or regular saving change focus from the current page

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93574

--- Comment #12 from John van Someren ---
I am surprised at some of the judgmental statements made, and language used by
the Joel Madero. Her criticisms of some of the comments are very unusual in
such a web site and are not likely to advance the service you people provide.

I am on this page because I also spend a lot of time reading documents which
need an occasional edit and it irks me when the autosave flips me back several
pages.

I, like the person who reported it, consider this bug to be more than "minor
importance", but how can I know what is Minor, what is Normal etc.

Is there some page where the user can read the criteria used by the people who
make this assessment? I cannot believe that they just use their gut feel. There
must be written criteria on a web site with so many users as this.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Very odd, the trace you give seems to suggest that there are two dialogs
concurrently running, one in each thread:

frame #7: 0x00010974b943
libdeploymentgui.dylib`dp_gui::UpdateDialog::Execute(this=0x000106244000) +
83 at dp_gui_updatedialog.cxx:600

and

frame #14: 0x0001097280f7
libdeploymentgui.dylib`dp_gui::ServiceImpl::startExecuteModal(this=0x000108bdce70,
xListener=0x7fff5fbff3f0) + 2807 at dp_gui_service.cxx:284

Which is somewhat interesting and unusual in itself; that 'bWait' is set is
good - the app is waiting for events to do something.

Are you sure there is no hidden window somewhere ? perhaps the transience /
layering is wrong for them somehow ?

Looks lovely =) Then again if we did xWindow.clear() there is no need for the
reset as well.

> Build and unit-tests are fine with the above code.

Did you try 'make check' ? well worth running that at the top level before and
after.

> But build gives a unit-test failed if I use
> xWindow.disposeAndClear()

Sure - that forcibly destroys the window - we don't want to do that ;-)

> Also vcl/README.lifecycle was a real help.

Glad you like it; that's why I wrote it =)

> And do you have ScopedVclPtr in place of VclPtr in mind for the future?

Well; we have such a thing, but the templates generally could use a fair bit of
cleanup there.

> I could also notice a lot of things left in the "What remains to be done ?"
> section of the doc.

Sure - this is one of them; great to have you on it - I suspect there is scope
for a lot of nice, small patches in gerrit - separated by other commits - so we
can bisect to them nicely =)

Thanks !

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96888] Kill internal vcl dog-tags ...

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96888

Hi,
This is a method where deletion listener was being used.
It has been replaced by a VclPtr reference.
Please verify if I'm on the right track.

http://pastebin.com/aea0PSVf

Build and unit-tests are fine with the above code.

But build gives a unit-test failed if I use
xWindow.disposeAndClear()
instead of
xWindow.clear()
xWindow.reset()
I might need some clarification on that.

Also vcl/README.lifecycle was a real help.
And do you have ScopedVclPtr in place of VclPtr in mind for the future?
I could also notice a lot of things left in the "What remains to be done ?"
section of the doc.

Thanks!

Bug ID: 96912
Summary: Newline in Cell (ctrl+enter) is ignored by Excel if
content of the next line was pasted in Libre Office
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.4.2 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: adr.w...@gmail.com

Creating a Spreadsheet Excel 2010.
Entering text "abc" in A1. Entering text "123" in B1. Entering text "456" in
C1.
Closing and saving the document in XLSX. Opening the Document with Libre
Office.
Double-clicking C1, selecting all text, copying it. Double clicking B1. Set
cursor at end of text. Using ctrl+enter, pasting text. Pressing enter to leave
cell. Confirming that there are two lines in the 'Input line'. Saving the

Opening the document in Excel 2010. Confirming in the 'Formular Bar' that there
is only one line.
Happens also if not pasted into the cell but into the 'Input line'.

Now going back to the original issue - why aren't the "with patch" numbers
being printed out to three decimal places?

One possible explanation is that they are, but the trailing zeros are omitted -
and that there are always trailing zeros!

There's code for omitting trailing zeros in appendFixedInt() (sign-posted by
the comment) and the equivalent in appendDouble() is the "&& nFrac" in the
final for-loop.

This would mean that the values sent for output have already been rounded up
(or more likely truncated) to the nearest 1/20. This could be due to
lcl_convert() used in appendPoint().

I'm currently trying to figure out what's going on with those calls, it looks
quite complicated. Any pointers would be appreciated. I can sort of see why the
numbers would be rounded to 1/10 (via nDPIX = nDPIY = 720 plus the fact that 1
inch = 72 pt), but can't find the factor of 2.

If I manage to figure this out, I will try to write a patch addressing all of
this.

other versions and OS asap...
Added full windows attachments to explain it with precision: columns A to J are
frozen, columns K till the end are floating/scrollable/whatever you want to
say.
When editing a comment overlapping frozen and floating columns, the comment's
area over the frozen column gets hidden if you double-click the comment in it's
area over the floating column (attach #1).
Everything goes as expected if you double-click the comment in it's area over
the frozen column (attach #2).
P.S.: I've been messy attaching comments: I'm afraid I've duplicated attachment
2, and now I can't delete the firs (not desired) one; apologies.

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96892

Here's what I did to find the bug, and some things I noticed along the way.

First I took Julien's files and uncompressed the streams using pdftk. As
expected, some numbers are now given to three places, e.g. at the very
beginning:

stream
0.1 w
q 0 0.1 595.2 841.8 re

became:

stream
0.1 w
q 0 0.138 595.275 841.861 re

But the rest is less encouraging, e.g. the first long data line:

63.8 756.6 64.1 756.1 64.2 755.9 c 64.3 755.7 64.4 755.5 64.5 755.3 c

became:

63.8 756.6 64.5 756.15 64.15 755.95 c 64.3 755.75 64.4 755.55 64.5 755.3 c

It looks like the "with patch" numbers are only rounded to the nearest 1/20.
More on that later. You can also see that the third number changed quite
dramatically, 64.1 -> 64.5 -- and this is what led me to the bug.

I extracted all the numbers for one path and compared "without patch" and "with
patch". The results are attached. I found that |difference| > 0.05 only
happened in the following cases:

# without patch with patch difference
59.159.50.40
60.160.50.40
61.161.50.40
62.162.50.40
63.163.50.40
64.164.50.40
65.165.50.40
66.166.50.40
67.167.50.40
754 754.5 0.50
755 755.5 0.50
756 756.5 0.50
757 757.5 0.50
758 758.5 0.50
759 759.5 0.50
760 760.5 0.50
761 761.5 0.50
762 762.5 0.50

Once you've seen the bug, the explanation is obvious.

0.40 vs 0.50 - the 6x are x-coordinates, the 7xx are y-coordinates. In general
the y-coordinates decreased by 0.05, x-coordinates increased by 0.05:

58.658.60.00
58.758.65 -0.05
58.958.85 -0.05
58.958.90.00
59.159.10.00
:
753.4 753.45 0.05
753.5 753.5 0.00
753.7 753.7 0.00
753.9 753.9 0.00
753.9 753.95 0.05
754 754 0.00

I believe that the difference comes from this line in appendPoint():

nValue  = pointToPixel(getHeight()) - aPoint.Y();

or a similar line elsewhere.

In that previous test, I left LOdev running a full 6 minutes with no activity,
in a seemingly frozen state. None of the buttons on the dialog would respond, I
couldn't close the dialog by any means, I couldn't even quit LOdev via the
normal menu entry or the dock entry. I had to force quit the app to regain lldb
cli debugging control.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96910] New: EDITING - Crashs using "insert column left" for large documents with concatenation

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96910

Bug ID: 96910
Summary: EDITING - Crashs using "insert column left" for large
documents with concatenation
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.4.2 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: p...@arnoehle.de

Created attachment 121732

Setup for "Insert columns left" crash

In my simplified test I created a Calc-document with 3 columns and a lot of
rows; testet with 1048576 rows. This is the amount of rows which will be
filled, when I select a whole column and paste some cell-data).
The first and second column contain some arbitary text-data. The third column
contains the formula for concatenating column A and B like =CONCATENATE(A1;B1)
for the first cell of C.

With this setup I have selected column B and clicked on "Insert columns left".
Calc crashed with the following fatal error:
multi_type_vector::get_block_position#676: block position not found! (logical
pos=1048576, block size=1, logical size=1048576)

The attachment contains my testfile with the setup described above.

The command .uno:OpenTemplate still works to open a template for editing from
arbitrary place. You can customize the File|Templates menu and add that
command. The command is in Category "Templates", Command "Edit".

So I think, it is an "easy hack".

I have tried it in Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95573

So, testing this again on my latest master dbgutl build (20160104)

I started unopkg gui in a lldb session.
I was able to add an extension package, e.g. BaseTools-0.0.5.oxt
The extension installed for all users successfully, there was no stall or
freeze.

I then tried clicking on the Check for updates button, which gave the following
console output :

warn:sal.osl:60084:4:sal/osl/unx/socket.cxx:951: undefined address

and that is when the GUI freezes. Normally, what should happen is that a window
is drawn with a list of all available updates, or else an empty window if none
are available. However, this window never gets drawn, and that is why the app
appears frozen.

lldb remains in an expectant state, apparently waiting for something to happen,
but not returning to the active debugging cli (how do I get that back,
forcibly, if necessary, to input commands ?)

The Mac process monitor app shows that LO has 5 running threads, and is
occupying approximately 1.5% CPU, but dropping to 0% when switching context
away from app.

What I do notice in the Memory usage tab of the Monitor.app, is that the LO
process has spawned 238 ports !!
However, none of these ports appear to have had any network traffic.

Hi Kerem
I am not sure that the feature is needed. It would be better someone interested
with Base to tell his/her opinion.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96174] "File - Save to Remote Server" spits out "Error saving document $document: The specified device is invalid", when trying to save to GDrive

2016-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96174

--- Comment #5 from Giuseppe Castagno (aka beppec56)
 ---
Tested with 5.1.0rc1 and an active GDrive login.

In Linux:
LO Version: 5.1.0.1
Build ID: bcace328aabc4c8c10b56daa87da0a2ee6579b5a
Threads 8; Ver: Linux 3.13; Render: default;

Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

Disabled LO native dialogs, used 'Remote Files' from left panel.
Pressing 'OK' after filling up the dialog fields for a GDrive connection, I got
the error:

'The specified device is invalid.'

And couldn't go any further.

In Windows:
LO Version: 5.1.0.1
Build ID: bcace328aabc4c8c10b56daa87da0a2ee6579b5a
Threads 2; Ver: Windows 6.1; Render: default;

Locale: en-US (en_US)

Repeat test as above, I was able to add a GDrive CMIS server.
Trying to save a new file doesn't work: LO acts as if saving, but nothing is
saved; no error is given.
Loading a file form GDrive, modify and save: load from GDrive, but saving
doesn't work: LO acts as if saving, but nothing is saved; no error is given.

Summing things up:

- Linux: it seems that --with-gdrive-client-id and --with-gdrive-client-secret
are used with the wrong parameter, because if they weren't used GDrive CMIS
type would not be present in the list;
- Windows: user GDrive credentials works, but the file can't be saved; be it
save as new or saved after a change.

Building LO in Linux with my own --with-gdrive-client-id and
--with-gdrive-client-secret values, it behaves as Windows.
Testing with LO master daily is not possible, --with-gdrive-client-id and
--with-gdrive-client-secret values are not set at build time.
