Thanks for the suggestion. Just a heads up that volunteers tackle enhancements

I have found that antialiasing of LO is not working fine on Windows 10 with
Clear Type. I use 5.2.2 (latest release), unchecked Open GL (It doesn't work
with Surface) and checked antialiasing and hardware acceleration. As the
attachment above shows, LO attempts some antialiasing but this is not properly
computed and the height of fonts is mismatched. Powerpoint in the same machine
with the same level of antialiasing in Cleartype produces more consistent
borders and the font looks ok.

Antialiasing is incomplete

This should provide additional information about the antialias problem in
Windows. The above line is from LibreOffice. The dark line below is from
Powerpoint. Same font (Oswald). LO shows antialiasing, but little and it makes
the height of characters seem wrong.

Certainly - for anything < Windows 10 - the -Intel- drivers appear un-enumbered
by things like thread-safety, testing, reliability.

A patch to the XML to implement that much appreciated ! =)

Then again - I could swear that GL should not be enabled on Windows XP at all -
if it is that worries me generally, we should disable it there completely I
think.

Air 11" Early 2014 with MacOs Sierra GM (on cold start)

LibreOffice 5.2.0.1: 9 seconds
LibreOffice 5.2.0.4: 9 seconds
LibreOffice 5.2.1.1: 9 seconds
Libreoffice 5.2.1.2: 25 seconds
Libreoffice 5.2.2.1: 26 seconds
Libreoffice 5.2.2.2: 24 seconds
Libreoffice 5.2.3.1: 26 seconds

Measurement method: stopwatch

Note: MacOS Sierra seems use a prefetch technology. After the first run, the
next start will be quicker. To reset the prefetch function I open a different
version of LibreOffice. 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. If LibreOffice 5.2.1.1. didn't run last: start LibreOffice. Check the
startup time  
2. Close LibreOffice 5.2.1.1
3. Start LibreOffice 5.2.1.2  Check the startup time  
4 Compare

Actual Results:  
Time to StartCenter: 25 seconds

Expected Results:
Time to StartCenter: 10 seconds

Can not reproduce. I opened attachment 124946 and attachment 113336

Of course I do not have Helvetica, Discusting Behavior, or Nimbus installed--so
both documents render with replacement fonts, and on export to PDF with
substitute fonts with their umlauts intact.

The Nimbus is exported as TimesNewRomanPSMT. The Helvetica as Liberation Sans.
And the Disgusting Behavior as DejaVu Sans and Source Sans.

But, this looks to be duplicate of bug 34212 which has

Perhaps give that a chance to post and retest.

Description:
If I reshape and rotate the title in the slide master, the normal view does not
respect my settings. Instead, the title is shown at the same position but
unrotated and with the wrong size and text orientation.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a presentation
2.Open Slides Master view
3.Rotate the title box to be 90 degrees vertical, placed at one side of the
slide
4.Close the Slids Master view
5.Create a transpartency: the title shows at the wrong position

Actual Results:  
The title is shown at a position that shares one corner, but it is not rotated.

Expected Results:
The title should have the same dimensions and position and orientation as in
the Slides Master vier

Unfortunately i dont have windows 7, but have window 8.1 and tested attachment
113336 and attachment 124946 without having Helvetica, Disgusting Behaviour, or
Nimbus Roman No9 L fonts on my computer and there wasnt any problems with the
pdf export with 5.2.1.2.

Did some more testing back on the Win 7 drive. Was using LO 5.2.1.2 so updated
to 5.2.2.2 and the issue is still there on Windows 7.

However, the issue is NOT there in LO 5.2.2.2 on Kubuntu 16.10 - - which makes
me now wonder if it's a handshaking issue with Win 7 or the Windows driver for
the nVidea c960 ard I'm using.

most distros provide their own packaging as they see fit. 

Ubuntu has PPA option, and otherwise DEB or RPM TDF build packaging as noted.

Autocorrect does not perform correction when using Greek quotation marks « and
»

This is regardless of the "localized options quote replacement" setting as this
setting does not apply in this instance.

" " double quotes fails with "localized options quote replacement" on but works
when it is off.

« » fail regardless of "localized options quote replacement" setting

As tommy27 commented, it looks like LO does not recognise « and » as
punctuation.

Though i'm in favour of its implementation, i dont see any libreoffice or linux
distribution devs bothering with implementing this as most linux users get
libreoffice from their distro and with the availability of snap, flatpak, and
appimage versions of libreoffice, users will be able to easy install/run
libreoffice without a tradition windows-like GUI installer.

I'm on Linux (Ubuntu 16.04), but I *did* observe this bug already in older
versions of Ubuntu (don't remember exact versions). See also the reports of

If I open the linked minimal example in 5.2.2, the problem can also be
observed.

I can't give instructions for creating the "empty" animation steps. For now, I
just know that they appeared in the slides at one point. As far as I know, the
slides themselves were not imported from any other office format, but created
solely with LO. 

I think, this problem should be attacked from two sides:

1. Empty animation steps should be discarded when opening a file. This should
be the short term solution and should be easy to implement. Note that even when
fixing the creation of empty animation steps, this solution is still needed for
when users open older files.

2. We could investigate how these steps appear and how to avoid that. This
could be harder, since I have no clue how the empty animation steps where
created in the first place.

As there are more than one issue in this enhancement it should be broken up
into different bugs to focus on their individual issues.

The issue of themeing has been presented as a GSoC project and the newly
created bug should link to the wiki entry.

I personally don't care about themeing or workspace to "resemble" another
application--but that could be fertile ground from "extension/template" mavens.

Rather--realize that UI customizations currently are transient, clear the
profile and they are gone.  So having the ability to assert multiple
customizations (of Toolbar, Sidebar, module placement & state) as well .UI
based reconfiguration of dialogs/toolbars/sidebar decks, or even the new MUFFIN
experimental Notebook bar from a single transportable "UI package" is the crux
of this enhancement.

The ability to bundle ones configurations and export them as a personalized "UI
package" that could be applied on another installation would be a real step
forward.

Sure we can do similar now by copying our individual user profile and restoring
it to another system--but this takes it a step further and would allow UI
configuration to be done in a consistent (non-individualized) fashion and
applied to the profiles of other users.  Apply the package--they get a set of
customizations.

Description:
The option to convert all notes in one shot would be a great feature for
authors or typesetters with documents that contain a lot of footnotes or
endnotes. It is very easy to do it manually, in the case of odt files by
unzipping contents.xml from the .odt, then just changing the note-class
instances accordingly, e.g. with the sed command, then updating the odt with
the zip command. (For fodt files it's even simpler to do.) So I assume it would
be comparably easy to implement it into LibreOffice Writer. There should also
be a couple of sub-options:

(1) Exchange footnotes and endnotes
[This would change all footnotes into endnotes, and all previous endnotes into
footnotes]
(2) Change footnotes into endnotes and merge with existing endnotes
(3) Change endnotes into footnotes and merge with existing footnotes
[Sub-options 2 & 3 would require renumbering.]

I don't understand what you mean by theming... Creating a MSO 07 like skin
would probably infringe on design patents. the Notebookbar covers a similar UI
already.
And if you want familiarity for Windows users, then offer LO by default with
Notebookbar turned on with Breeze icon set.

Offering a way to allow knock-offs of Microsoft Office would just diminish the
uniqueness of LO. There's already plenty of chinese Microsoft Office clones.
Why lead LO in that direction, when the work of the design team is leading LO
into a unique direction that actually is working out great?

Yes it did continue while using 5.2 in Windows 7 - but not evident in 5.2.2.2
in Linux.

I'll reboot to Windows again tomorrow and double confirm and get back to you,
as well. Because I'm not sure if I have 5.2 or 5.2.2. on the Windows system.

Just to add some confusion to the situation, today i was able to get my system
working in Kubuntu 16.10. New install of Libre Office on Kubuntu, and the bug
isn't evident. Shut down and went back to Windows 7 Pro, latest version of
Libre Office, bug is still evident.

At this point I'm totally confused as to what the cause is. Due to the fact the
problem changes with the platform, I now wonder if it's a Windows issue or a
nVidea Driver issue.

I do not envision having to do much in Windows in the future, better to stay
where things work.

Julien, I think that I *did* try 5.2.2 and also crashed in my lab. However,
since now I'm not really sure for the earliest version that the probleam
appeared, on Monday I'll do a completely fresh install of LO 5.0.0, 5.1.0,
5.2.0 and 5.2.2 in my lab and also report opengl data.

Description:
If my Macbook Air (tested with: Yosemite, El Capitan, MacOS Sierra) goes to
sleep and i have plenty of writer documents opened (for example 14) with LO
version 4.4.0.1 (or higher) (with a stored (stock) User Profile), on resume
LibreOffice Writer will function normally until the point where I create a New
Document. CPU will go up to 100% for one or more minutes depending on the
number of opened documents and the used LO version; with the LO 5 a little bit
worse than the LO 4.4 series. When the CPU spike ends everything is back to
normal; opening a new documents will take a few seconds. The proces will repeat
itself after every Mac nap.

The problem doesn't occur if:
- the affect LO version is used in the first run (no saved profile)
- in Yosemite, El Capitan, MacOS Sierra with Libreoffice 4.3.7.2 (and lower
versions: not tested)
- in Mavericks

The affected system is a MacBook Air 11" Early 2014.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a Mac with MacOS Yosemite, El Capitan, MacOS Sierr;  No user profile
2. Start LibreOffice Writer for the first time (to generate a user profile)
3. Close Libreoffice (CMD+Q)
4. Start Libreoffice Writer again
5. Create plenty blank documents (14 or more)
6. Put your computer to sleep (Choose Sleep from the Apple menu; Click Sleep
after pressing the power key; Close the lid of a portable Mac)
7. Wait 10 seconds or more (just in case)
8. Wake Mac again
7. Enter password (security setting)
9. Create a new document (CMD + N) or click new document in the menu bar
10. A new document will show up, but isn't responding. CPU usage spikes to
100%.

Actual Results:  
LibreOffice is unresponsive and CPU usage is around 100% for one or more
minutes depending on the number of opened documents.

Expected Results:
LibreOffice is responsive

The test document was created with LibreOffice 5.1.4.2.

If I use manual hyphenation via Tools > Language > Hyphenation... tt, ff, fb
and fl ligatures have good hyphenation but fi doesn't.

Why do manual and automatic hyphenation have different result? In the test
document it's automatic hyphenation via Styles > Modify > Text Flow >
Hyphenation: Automatically and the result differs from manual hyphenation.

I created another test document with LibreOffice version 5.2.2.2 with the same
results:
1) automatic hyphenation via style is wrong
2) manual hyphenation is good except for ligature fi
3) issues #2 and #3 are still there

Well only partially. So while bug 101249 provides a framework and addresses the
first part of comment 0 

If you review the list of "See also" and the duplicates, we do nothing yet for
"themeing" or "workspace" configuration(s) to adjust LibreOffice UI to resemble
other Office applications.

But there is at least one more major piece of framework preventing this--and
that is some ability to handle import/export & backup of user UI customization

Until we can offer a means for injecting UI customization from an external
configuration file the rest of this enhancement can not be implemented. And of
course it would be more appealing for folks to test/use if we also include a
backup and restore capability (other that the current "save a copy" of the user
profile, and paste it back).

When I open built LO components (instdir/program/scalc,

Terminal shows these warnings:
