Yeah, comment 0 is a bit dated by now. :) SAL_STREAM should be rarely
necessary, if at all (the two uses in sfx2/source/control/bindings.cxx could
arguably be rewritten using string concatenation with + instead), and should
never be necessary when generating useful exception messages in the context of
this issue. Always use string concatenation for that (use OUString::number to
put numbers into the message).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106249] New: F2 on Formula in Impress allows typing over formula

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106249

Bug ID: 106249
Summary: F2 on Formula in Impress allows typing over formula
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@curioussymbols.com

Description:
When I create a formula in Impress, I can type F2 and start typing text on top
of the formula, as though it were a text box.

This is strange behaviour and would certainly confuse a newbie, since they
can't double-click the formula to edit/remove that overlaid text.

I think it should be set to be impossible to edit the text on a formula object,
in general.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert Formula
2. Add some formula text eg "E = m c^2"
3. Exit the formula
4. Highlight the formula and type F2 (edit)
5. Type 'xxx'
6. Type Escape. The formula is now a mess.
7. Type enter. You can edit the formula but not the 'xxx'
8. Type F2. You can edit the 'xxx' but not the formula.

Actual Results:
Nasty mess, best avoided! But the F2 keystroke is an easy habit eg after using
Spreadsheets for a while.

Expected Results:
To me, 'enter' and F2 should both have the same effect when an object is a
formula. I think there is no benefit at all in being able to edit the text on
top of a Formula. Additionally, I am surprised that the OpenDocument
specification allows this...

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104701] PS Type 1 URW fonts missing in LibreOffice 5.3.0.0.beta1 and 5.3.0.0.beta2

Why do you claim it is unnecessary, as if we could have continued supporting
Type 1 without a significant development effort?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PostScript_fonts#Type_1 "They are not supported
in the Windows GDI+, WPF or DirectWrite APIs"

MS Office dropped Type 1 support in 2013, with the only way to use them being
an awkward workaround:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/8c15a4ea-ac83-40bd-8800-d3532e1dee07/office-2013-and-type-1-fonts-not-supported?forum=officesetupdeploy

The writing has been on the wall for Type 1 fonts for a long time.

Users of Type 1 fonts have been forced to jump through hoops for years:
https://forums.adobe.com/message/7382830#7382830 Adobe principal scientist
commenting in 2015: "it is really a good time to accelerate migration to
cross-platform OpenType fonts."

Author: Justin Luth

tdf#105256 gtk findfocus return only if focused

A patch related to tdf#96685 (commit
598e6a024163f1510d076000788b7745625f5ed5)
caused the initial regression that Japanese-mozc would freeze(tdf#100903).
That patch only modified what happened when the text was marked as focused.

However, the regression fix for Japanese bug 100903 (commit
1c81af2c1814e8bd12701f85e09cebf5fe206647) was not placed
inside of the "if focused" code, and so it applies to more situations
than were broken by the first regression, thus causing new bug 105256.

So, applying fix 100903 ONLY when focused solves both problems.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104701] PS Type 1 URW fonts missing in LibreOffice 5.3.0.0.beta1 and 5.3.0.0.beta2

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104701

The conversion of hundreds of fonts is hardly trivial. It is time-consuming,
and should be unnecessary.

Yes, Type 1 is a legacy format, but this is hardly comparable to some of the
earlier formats that have been long ago dropped. Type 1 fonts are still more
than adequate for professional work, so there is no particular incentive to
convert them to another format, especially when most graphic editors continue
to support them.

Personally, I am mostly unaffected, since I have been using only free-licensed
fonts for the last few years, few of which are in Type 1 format. But I now have
to either waste my time on conversions, or else retain an older copy of
LibreOffice if I want continued access to legacy documents.

Still, what irritates me is how unnecessary the change is. Did anyone think to
ask graphic designers using LibreOffice? The decision seems arbitrary, based on
the interest of developers, and not in the best interest of users.

   Version: 5.3.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: diazbast...@openmailbox.org

Description:
A laser pointer can now be used from Impress Remote. It would also be nice to
be able to use it directly from Impress and the presentation console.

It is necessary to consider that it is very common to have hybrid laptops with
touch screens and stylus so this is much more practical.

Actual Results:
The laser pointer only can be used from Impress Remote

Expected Results:
The laser pointer can be activated from Impress and the presentation console
view.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

the bug. But tge actual bad commit may be two says older as I normally rebuild

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106245] New: Please, remove current limitation on function keys

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106245

Bug ID: 106245
Summary: Please, remove current limitation on function keys
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pincopall...@orange.fr

Some function keys are reserved by default and cannot be modified or made
inactive: F1, F6, F10, Shift+F1, Shift+F6, maybe a few more. I do not know if
this choice has an historical reason, but I would really like to get rid of
this limitation.
F1 is just next to "esc". On a small notebook I often hit F1 instead of "esc"
and every time the browser fires up with the help page. It would be really
helpful to make F1 inactive. Similarly, F6 and F10 could be used for some
formatting or commonly used functions. To have three out of twelve function
keys unusable is a bit frustrating.
Is there any tweak to remove this limitation? Or will the developers consider
the possibility of removing this limitation in one of the forthcoming releases?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69043] INSTALLATION: On MS-Windows 7, upgrade using ' LibreOffice_4.1.1_Win_x86.msi' systematically complains that it needs to update files which are opened by 'Microsoft Windo

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

This happened when I installed 5.2.3.3 on a Windows 10 laptop, so it is not
fixed.

The installer warned me that (approximately) The application Microsoft Windows
Search Filter Host was using one of the files and invited me to close it.

That's a system service. I used Task Manager > Processes, clicked (v)More
details to show additional processes, found Microsoft Windows Search Index, and
right-clicked on it to end task. ([sic], that's what I have in my notes,
install reported Search Filter Host but for some reason I killed Search Index.)

I am not using any antivirus beyond Windows Defender, the default in Windows
10.

To reproduce you would probably have to copy a lot of random files into your
Documents folder before starting LibreOffice install; or in the control panel
Indexing Options > Advanced, click [Rebuild] and then start the LibreOffice
install. Even then that might not be sufficient to trigger the conflict if
particular operations in the installer and Microsoft Windows Search service
have to overlap. You might have to do something else in Task Manager such as
run as System Administrator to see the Microsoft Windows Search service(s).

Thanks for all y'all do for LibreOffice!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106244] New: FORMATTING: Cell color palette has reduced selection in recent versions

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106244

Bug ID: 106244
Summary: FORMATTING: Cell color palette has reduced selection
in recent versions
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.1.1 rc
  Hardware: All

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: atlp...@excite.com

scalc
format cells --> background color

Recent versions of scalc have reduced the palette selection for cell background
colors. There no longer appears to be a means to create a custom palette.

Workaround solution:
Replace
 libreoffice5.3/share/palette/standard.soc
with a prior version, or edit the file to add additional choices.

Perhaps there's a better method. Or, btter, simply return the old expanded
standard.soc file to new version installations.

At least let me know how to add this suggestion to libreoffice documentation
and an explanation on how to expand the palette for more custom colors.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106242] New: FORMATTING: Conditional formatting wrongly copied ( on 1st sheet only)

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106242

Bug ID: 106242
Summary: FORMATTING: Conditional formatting wrongly copied (on
1st sheet only)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.1.1 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stefan_lange...@t-online.de

Created attachment 131545
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=131545=edit
zip-File with 2 spreadsheets to reproduce resp. demonstrate the error

There is a problem with conditional formatting at copy + paste of more than one
cell on the first or unique sheet of a spreadsheet document:

When a complete row should be copied to an other row and the first cell of the
row to copy is with conditional formatting (= difference to bug 106230), the
conditional formatting of the first cell is copied to all other cells of the
target row. When there were yet other conditional formattings in the row to
copy, they are lost. This is visible via Conditional formatting -> Manage.
See attached file "altix_Nummern_klein_V3_Row copied.ods": row 133 sheet "Altix
I bis III" and especially cell C133!

Reproduce the error:
1. open the file "altix_Nummern_klein_V3.ods" from the attached zip-File
2. go to the first sheet ("Altix IV und V")
3. insert a row before e.g. row 133
4. copy row 132 and paste it to row 133

Actual result:
- Color of cell C133 is Magenta
- some other cells in row 133 are missformatted (alignment and/or color
Magenta)
- Conditional formatting -> Manage: for all cells xxx133 exists the same format
condition as for A133

Expected result:
- Row 133 should look like row 132
- Conditional formatting -> Manage: condional formatting should exist only for
A133, A134;A5:A132, C133 and C134;C5:C132 (for C133 same expression as for
C134;C5:C132)

Problem was reproduced with with LO 5.3.0 (release), LO 5.3.1 rc1,
Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build-ID: 08750abc64a7ad82cac96adeb7a0bcdce7ac704d
CPU-Threads: 2; BS-Version: Windows 6.2; UI-Render: Standard;
TinderBox: Win-x86@62-merge-TDF, Branch:MASTER, Time: 2017-02-28_00:02:28
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: group

and also with LO 5.2.5 (release) and LO 5.2.6.1 (rc1).

The bug is similar to Bug 106230 - maybe a duplicate. But because the problem
of Bug 106230 is not reproducible with LO 5.2.5 and LO 5.2.6.1, I am not sure.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106241] New: Mail Merge connects to gmail smtp server but emails are not sent

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106241

Bug ID: 106241
Summary: Mail Merge connects to gmail smtp server but emails
are not sent
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: reto.sch...@gmail.com

With LO v5.2.5 I can no longer send emails with mailmerge. Last time I used it
successfully was one year ago with LO v5.0.4.

This is although I still can connect to the server with the following settings
(no error message):
smtp.gmail.com
Port 587
SSL option ticked
Under "Server Authentication"
Tick "Outgoing mail server (SMTP) requires authentication"
Select "The outgoing mail server requires separate authentication"
User name : enter full Gmail address here, including the @gmail.com
Password : fill in with password

The following settings don't work neither and return an error not reaching the
smtp server:
Port 465
SSL option unticked or ticked

As there is a connection to the smtp server it seems like the mails are not
passed on to gmail. I only found few bugs similar to this: connection yes but
no sending mails nonetheless.

I don't have no clue after a few hours of searching the web how to get around
this.

Can anyone help me on this?

That's right, but does it have real practical use?
Currently in LO there is no other option, but it could only be useful if the
monitor is duplicated. Other presentation programs show a floating box in a
corner of the presentation.

Sure, but I meant to lay the color picker as second or third choice. Usually
only a very small number of basic colors and mainly red color.

You mean: a) add pen feature to presenter console b) add highlighter c) drawing
tools, In addition to this report?

Actually my biggest interest points to something simple from Impress Remote in
the first place. It would be nice to have a metabug to suggest improvements to
the presentation console.

There is a problem with the code formatting for time. Format in the form HH:
MM: SS shows the time represented by the variable. You can use the code H or HH
for presenting exclusively hour, S or SS to represent exclusively seconds. You
can not use the code M and MM for the presentation minutes because it is
regarded as a code representing months. Using the code [MM] is interpreted
correctly and shows the total time in minutes.

This a simple ods with merged cells in three columns. The centre cell at row

formula only pasted into it. Th result is that the formerly meged cells at

> Please reconsider this decision.

Why? PS Type 1 font conversion is trivial, and most Adobe PS Type 1 was
converted years ago and is distributed as TTF/OTF already. Little new PS Type 1
since the mid-90's with advent of TTF/OTF, industry moved on.

Would expect any serious "designer" needing to retain library of archival 20+
year old Type 1 fonts would have done conversions some time ago if only for
convenience of being compatible with workflows using TTF/OTF.

As a cross-platform project, getting consistent HarfBuzz based layout in place
(and working correctly with OpenGL) is a lot more important than legacy support
for that corner case of users still dragging deprecated PS Type 1 fonts around.

At this phase in LibreOffice development, no support in HarfBuzz means simply
no support in LibreOffice--accordingly PS Type 1 is out. And this remains a
clear WONTFIX.

I don't understand this, I didn't get that crash in lower version. If you do,
please write steps, does autocaption need to be shown, is it Ctrl+V or
Insert-Object, is is New with paste, or From file, is it linked.

The decision to drop support for Type 1 fonts must have been made by someone
who isn't a designer.

Even though the availability of free fonts has blossomed in the last few years,
many designers have invested substantially in Type 1 fonts over the years and
still use them, if only for legacy documents

The change also means that LibreOffice is less compatible with other free
software, including GIMP, Krita, and Inkscape.

Please reconsider this decision.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42982] improve UNO API error reporting

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42982

Also looks like OSL_FORMAT was replaced by SAL_STREAM
http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Assertions-and-Logging-td3518719.html but
git grep found only 2 usages of it.
As far as I can see currently string concatenation via + operator is usually
used ("cannot get service instance \"" + rServiceName + "\"!").

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106239] New: Simplify insertion of page number (enhancement)

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106239

Bug ID: 106239
Summary: Simplify insertion of page number (enhancement)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: nuno...@gmail.com

At the moment, we need the following 3 steps to insert a page number:

1-Insert -> Heather and Footer -> Footer -> Default style

2-Insert -> Field -> Page number

3-Then, optionally but probably, click 'right-align' or 'center-align'.

Possible solution: This task pipeline could be easily simplified down to a
single stage, without loss of generality:

1-Insert -> Field -> Page number -> Bottom -> Right

Where, in this case, the page number would be added to the botton right corner
of the page (the footer would be automatically added).

Hello,
Yes, please.
Test the navigator one with the latest version of LibreOffice from
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ and if it's still
reproducible, open a new follow-up bug.

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 106238
Summary: UI - pivot table - Custom sorting list dialog not
diaplayed every time
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bureautiqueli...@nantesmetropole.fr

Steps to recreate the bug:

1/ Create a pivot table
2/ Sort one of the items with a user-define sorting list
3/ Do the same operation as step 2: the sorting lists don't show

Workaround: select or unselect items in the filter, then try to sort with
custom list. The dialog works OK again.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98904] [Formatting] Custom image for bullets won't work

2017-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98904

I found another method that works well to add custom bullets.

Here is the method:

1. In an Impress document, position the cursor on the text where you want to
get the custom bullet, then right click and select the menu item 'Bullets and
Numbering'

2. In the Bullets and Numbering dialog, go to the 'Customize' tab and in the
left column, click on the plan level that corresponds to your text

3. Select 'Graphics' for the Number item, and select 'From File' for the
Graphics item

4. In the file dialog that opens, select the image file you want to use as a
custom bullet

5. In the Width and Height fields, set the width and height you want for your
bullet image

6. Click OK and your custom bullet should be shown at the beginning of the
text, with the correct size

You can do this in a slide master, for each plan level. I tested it with a PNG
image but I guess you can use a GIF or SVG image too.
