https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111396 --- Comment #2 from Paul--- That's a really horrible and confusing user experience. The document properties aren't even exposed sufficiently. Surely if a user sets a style as title, that should set the title in the document properties? For example I could set a 3-word paragraph to bold, and unbold the 2nd word, but instead I could set the 1st and 3rd words to bold, and not touch the 2nd. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111400] New: Space between paragraphs and letters different in paragraph between OOXML and ODT (MS Word compatibility)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111400 Bug ID: 111400 Summary: Space between paragraphs and letters different in paragraph between OOXML and ODT (MS Word compatibility) Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.4.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: will...@gathoye.be Created attachment 135173 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=135173=edit Sample 1 DOCX version Last week, we have received a quite complete and concrete bug report via a direct message on the French LibreOffice account on Twitter. A student leading extra courses for students having difficulties in a medical faculty in France is recommanding MS Office (free for students because of a partnership between Microsoft and university) because there are small differences between text imported in LibreOffice. A mention to LibreOffice is absent from the official brochure and mail delivered to new students, because of issues described hereafter. The student's assistants cannot afford spending time in printing issues when a student decides to print the document either using MS Office or LibreOffice. Indeed, sometimes, there are page breaks and this is quite annoying when an assistant says 'take page 20' and for students using LibreOffice, this is on page 21 for example. The problem tends to appear more aften as the document gets longer (1px is not important between 2 paragraphs, but when it is being added to the previous paragraph, after some pages, this 1px easily leads to a 100px difference). The test has been performed in this following manner: an OOXML document opened in Office 365 (thus corresponding to the 2016 version) and LibreOffice 5.4 on Windows. The document has been exported from both office suites as PDF exports, then exported as images. Images have been put in superposition: the Office export on the LibreOffice one (the LibreOffice export is in gray, while the Office export is in black). The test documents have been provided as attachments to this bug report. Screenshots on the rendered document (without PDF exports) will be provided soon by the user who reported this issue to us. The users expressed the following remarks: - The same font has rendering differences between office suites, while they have been manually installed on both sides. The brochures/emails sent to students are specifying this wrt. the font: they must be installed on the computer to have no rendering changes if the font is, for some reason, not available on the computer of the office suite. - There are space issues in borders and in underlines, but this does not lead to paragraph differences nor to page breaks. - The justify algorithm is different from Office to LibreOffice potentially leading to paragraph breaks and thus page breaks. - The space between paragraph, while specified in the same units in Office and LibreOffice appears in a different manner on LibreOffice. - The tables of content are not concerned by these issues: space between paragraphs and indexes seems to be correct. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Rather oddly, this method actually crashed on my N6P running Android 7.1 (i.e. before the AsyncTask conversion): > android.os.NetworkOnMainThreadException > at > android.os.StrictMode$AndroidBlockGuardPolicy.onNetwork(StrictMode.java:1303) > at java.net.SocketOutputStream.socketWrite(SocketOutputStream.java:111) I'm guessing Android's StrictMode thread detection gets confused when you create arbitrary threads, there's probably not much point in debugging that since creating Thread's in that way is very un-Androidy anyway. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Now I tested it with Version: 5.4.0.0.beta2 Build ID: 3cc1cdd8ee50f144e5514da51800a08119754d8f which I had downloaded from http://libreoffice.soluzioniopen.com/index.php/pre-releases/ from http://libreoffice.soluzioniopen.com/pre-releases/LibreOfficeDev-5.4.0.0.beta2_English_x86-64.AppImage on 2017-06-12. I tried it with that version because I did not want to uninstall my current version and install another one instead. Since this is a 5.4.x.x version, I hope the information testing it with this one is helpfull. The link which should point to the headline was: "*2015-05-03 Benutzer wechseln im Abmeldemenü|outline". This all happens with Xubuntu 16.04.3 LTS My current kernel-state is: 4.10.0-30-generic x86_64 I also tested with the latest version available as AppImage: Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha0+ to insert a hyperlink to a headline. Insertign the hyperlink worked, it looked like this (as in my first complaint: "*2015-05-03 Benutzer wechseln im Abmeldemenü|outline"). Like many headlines in my document, this one also contains blancs and since these headlines are part of a kind of log book, I prepend them with an asterisk if the problem dealt under the headline is solved. So this headline also contains a leading asterisk. I hope this is not the cause of the error.
