[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49946] landscape PRINTING result on portrait paper sheet for 2 pages per sheet (Brother MFC-J6510DW)

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49946

It is a common printer error and occurs when the WLAN router cannot be
associated with the system address of the Brother Printer which is allowed in
the filter. The Brother Printer Error Code TS-02 appeared that the WLAN access
point can't be detected by the system.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119212] New: List of character sets in ASCII Filter Options is mixed up

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119212

Bug ID: 119212
Summary: List of character sets in ASCII Filter Options is
mixed up
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: bibisectRequest, regression
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu

Open any txt file by selecting format 'Text - Choose Encoding'.
Check the list of character sets.

In previous versions, the list started with Arabic, Baltic, Chinese, Cyrillic
etc, listing the different encodings per each group.

=> Currently the list of character sets lack ordering.

Observed using LO 6.1.0.3 & 6.1 beta1 / Windows 7.
Order is fine in 6.0.0.3.
=> regression

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119096] Error Display Chinese file

When you are in the Open file dialog, choosing format 'Text - Choose Encoding'
will let you select the mentioned GB18030 encoding, and using that will show
the file correctly. Well, almost, because there's a display regression since
5.3, I opened bug 119211 on that.

Considering this bug, I'm not sure if the default encoding or order of priority
can be changed (not, as far as I can see), one could argue that'd be a nice
feature to have.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

I gave a try with https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/58870/
The sort of the example with phonebook collation works but I'm not sure if it
may break something in the ICU calling mechanism.
So hope some reviews.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119210] New: Odd Error Message is Displayed while Inserting a Field

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119210

Bug ID: 119210
Summary: Odd Error Message is Displayed while Inserting a Field
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de
Blocks: 107739

This bug occurs with my used user profile with version 6.1.0. With versions
6.0.5 and 6.0.6 with the same profile the bug does not occur. Also with a new
profile with 6.1.0 the bug does not occur. If needed I can provide my user
profile in a personal mail. Furthermore the bug emerges only if the
experimental features are enabled (Options > LibreOffice > Advanced).

Steps how I produced the bug:

[1] Open new text document.
[2] Insert Field: Insert > Field > More Fields… An error message is displayed:
“The document contains embedded HSQL data, which is deprecated. Would you like
to migrate to Firebird now?“ This message is nonsense here. Expected: No such
message.
[3] Click “Yes” or “Later”. The message appears again.
[4] Click “Yes” or “Later” again. The message vanishes and the Fields dialogue
is displayed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119106] Navigator is slowing everything down & blinks

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119106

Last note, hopefully, I've purged debian provided libreoffice and installed
6.1.0.3 from

https://www.libreoffice.org/donate/dl/deb-x86_64/6.1.0/cs/LibreOffice_6.1.0_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz
( sha256sum f2c5a5b89a74182a61aa9d58a7da3a09184036627641fbe47d82e11b1e904f2c )

And the issue is not present. All the mentioned issues (rendering navigator,
styles, option-group arrows), are not present in this version.

Latest (sid) debian provided version is released by
Rene Engelhard Thu, 02 Aug 2018 21:06:53 +
with release-not
libreoffice (1:6.1.0~rc3-1) unstable; urgency=medium

However I think, 6.1.0-rc3 must be older than 6.1.0.3, which might explain the
issues, and probably means, this issue might be duplicate of older issue or
that this issue was noticed internally by developers and fixed already.

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium

The CMIS (remote server) dialog has https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v2 as
suggestion for a Windows share server.

The URL above is actually not the best Windows share to suggest, if even it is.
A more generic URL such as https://myserver.com can fit as good example.

Step to reproduce
1) Open remote server dialog
2) Choose Windows share

expected results: A generic URL in the Server field
Actual result: "https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v2;

The report actually indicates 3 issues.

1) effectively a the https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v2 is not to be suggested
as a Windows share.

--> will open another bug

2)Documentation: The Help page exist actually:

https://help.libreoffice.org/6.0/en-US/text/shared/guide/cmis-remote-files-setup.html

The dialog Help button does not open the right help page, the issue is bug
115254.

3) If the contents of the help page above is not enough for Samba or Windows
shares, can you append to this bug the text you would like to see? Thank you.

I tested this with libo-master64_2018-06-27.
It appeared to be a work-in-progress with multiple issues.

I just tested with libo-master64_2018-08-08.
Appears to be the same.

Is this going to be the version of this dialog released?
If so, this is may cause more problems than it solves.

For example:
- Users should not be able to enable features which are mutually exclusive.
- There is no option for Default which is appropriate for certain features.

This is nothing more than the fake bold & italic confusion times 10.

The OpenType features dialogs in QuarkXPress 2018 have substantial improvements
over 2017 which shows that they have been making improvements based on user
feedback.
It is much better.
And still better than the InDesign OpenType interface.

The grouping and logic work has already been done.
I can even summarize it if it would actually be used to fix this interface.

I would be happy to post multiple screenshots from QuarkXPress 2018
 - if anyone would actually look at them, and
 - actually incorporate the better features.

Not going to waste the time if no one is going to even bother to look at them
again.

I see several reasons:
1/ it is a bad idea: balloons make the original text unreadable thus the
comparison between old and new text is more difficult. That is my opinion and I
guess I am not alone.

2/ nobody is motivated enough to implement this change.

3/ LibreOffice is not a clone of MS-Office and it is not motivating to ask for
cloning existing software: we should search for something that would be better
than current LO and better than MSO.

Best regards. JBF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37511] copy-paste from Draw to Writer results appearing unexpected styles

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37511

The 1st bug post used Draw.

I also tried this: File > New > Drawing, Insert > Text Box, typed some text,
selected text, copied text and pasted text in a new Writer document.

When copied to Writer, Styles looked ok in 6.1.0.3.

I should note, when I did the test in 6.0.6.2, the formatting appeared to be
copied too. For example, if the text was centered in Draw or Impress, it was
centered in Writer. This is not the case with 6.1.0.3, but the Styles are ok.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69569] Implementation of YEARFRAC function inconsistent with Excel

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69569

I would like to add an aspect to this issue:

LibreOffice claims that it can open Excel Files. It claims compatibility.
https://www.libreoffice.org/discover/calc/

The Excel YEARFRAC function is mapped to the LibreOffice YEARFRAC function. So
with respect to compatibility it is mandatory that LibreOffice YEARFRAC behaves
like Excel.

I had provided the Java Code for Excel YEARFRAC in my comment 2013-09-19.
(Unclear to me why this comment has been tagged as obsolete.)

If LibreOffice.org believes to add an additional ACT/ACT ISDA - then maybe as a
separate function.

- Having the side pane un-docked (windowed) makes no difference

- Panes that work and render fine, and which causes trouble

[fine] Properties

[troublesome] Styles (some of the style rows are rendered completely black)
[fine] Gallery
[troublesome] Navigator (which has high cpu load and even clicking the other

This bug affects me too, and I haven't found this ill-behavior mentioned
anywhere else.

Opening Writer without Navigator pane opened, will let it work just fine.
Opening the Navigator pane or having it opened from previous session, causes
render issues and slow-down of whole WM (I'm using specifically i3wm on top of
lightdm)

This I can confirm this issue in both versions "1:6.1.0~rc2-3~bpo9+1" and
"1:6.1.0~rc3-1" (debian amd64 stretch-backports and sid)

I've tried to disable/enable OpenCL, this does no effect. In settings enabling
"Allow use of OpenCL" will get un-checked after lowriter restart.

I've tried to disable OpenGL or force OpenGL, disabling OpenGL does not make
the issue go away, forcing OpenGL causes Writer to not render document contents
and menu texts and all the icons (I assume this is because by-default it does
not use OpenGL on my system)

I've also tried with clean user profile, and the issue persists.

One thing that I noticed, in settings, that arrows indicating closeable
settings section, are not rendered (just white space). Might be related.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119207] New: LibreOffice help system does not help for connecting to and using files in a Samba server

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119207

Bug ID: 119207
Summary: LibreOffice help system does not help for connecting
to and using files in a Samba server
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: k...@mail.orbitel.bg
CC: olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org

Unfortunately the help of LibreOffice does not help about how to connect from
Linux to a Samba server.

Many people are using Samba servers for file shearing between Linux and Windows
in the same network. This is because many companies are using together Linux
and Windows desktop computers.

But if one such user is trying to connect his Linux based LibreOffice to
open/save a file on a Samba share, he/she can not found any useful help.
Enough clear and practical suggestion how to achieve it is missing in the
online or offline help system of LibreOffice.

Please try to open File --> Open... --> Servers...
You can found there around 16 connection options but no any about a Samba
share.

If one will try to use the option for Windows Share, the dialog will present
him as host the following URL: https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v2 (!?!)
It looks like our regular user willing to connect to his company intranet Samba
server, will stop here and could not do noting more.
If he/she clicks the Help button of the form it will be lost as could not found
any useful intonation.
This is because for this connection option there are given only 6 rows of
information without any example or possible options how to use them.

Also searching the Web does not give exact and practical explanation how one
can connect LibreOffice to a Samba server via above Servers... button.

Even it is not clear is it possible at all.

My suggestion is to give in the help system more practical explanations with
some examples about how to connect.
Such explanations should be written so, to make it easy to connect for any
LibreOffice users, not only for the IT hackers.

In order to reproduce:

[1] I used a new user profile. Therefor rename or delete existing user profile.
[2] Start LibreOffice and enable option “Edit document properties before
saving”: Extras > Options... > Load/Save > General. Click option and then “OK”.
[3] Open new text document and insert a bit of text.
[4] Close and save document:
(a) Menu: File > Close. Dialogue “Save Document?” is displayed
(b) Click “Save” and insert file name. Then “Save”. The Document Properties

is freezed. An operation is no longer possible. You have to cancel LibreOffice
with the Task Manager. Expected: No freeze.
[5] Start LibreOffice again. A recovery process is not performed.

Works for me with version 6.0.6. Hence regression.

Noticed this bugs for now only in xls files.

Opened the same file with MS Office (on Windows), WPS Office (on Linux) and
LibreOffice (on Linux).

The file has print area set and cells background styles.

Where WPS and MS Office show cells background LO Calc shows them white.
Some cells in LO Calc have excess border lines while WPS and MS Office show no
cell borders.

LO Calc shows wrong print area that fit to sheet width instead of initially set
area.

Tried to save the same file in XLSX (with WPS) - two bugs disappeared (cell
background and print area), excess cell border lines still remained.

Version|5.4.2.2 release |5.2.0.4 release

Confirmed with

Version: 6.1.0.3 (x64)
Build ID: efb621ed25068d70781dc026f7e9c5187a4decd1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL;
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: group threaded

but I found more hints about the cause for this issue.

Summary:

Actual:
Window height of 'Find & Replace' doesn't adjust, if you select additional
formatting options in 'Search for formatting' sub-window. Selected options get
displayed in a new line that's added below 'Find' field. But the height is
kept, so 'Attributes' and 'No Format' overlap 'Help' and 'Close'.
Adjusting height requires closing and reopening.

Expected:
Height of 'Find & Replace' adjusts, when I select a formatting option in
'Search for formatting' sub window and click 'OK'.

1. Open 'Find & Replace'.
2. Choose any formatting option and click 'OK'.
→ New line under 'find' displays selected option(s).
→ Buttons 'Attributes' and 'No format' overlap 'Help' and 'Close'.
→ Height of window stays same.
3. Close window.
4. Open 'Find & Replace' again.
→ Selected option is kept and displayed below 'Find'.
→ Window height is now increased.

Before the redesign of 'Find & Replace' window in 5.2, it had some empty extra
space below the 'Find' and the 'Replace' field to display selected formatting
options. In 5.2 this space was removed.

I attached a PDF with screenshots.

Some users don't have the issue, because width of 'Find & Replace' varies with
language of UI.

4 screen captures of Font Name drop-down

Please see the attached image.

I did one more test. I moved my Libreoffice profile to a backup name and
restarted Libreoffice with a new profile. On linux the profile is kept:
$HOME/.config/Libreoffice/4/user

I had to make three initial changes:
- Tools > Options > Libreoffice > View > Icon style: Elementary (Old: Breeze)
- View > Toolbars > Text Formatting (On)
- View > Toolbars > Drawing (Off)

When I clicked on the Font Name drop-down box, the font showed as
"Linux Libertine Display G". This was a different result.

However, since this was a new profile, there were no known font.

So I closed Impress and opened up Writer. I created two lines. The first line
was formatted with Bitstream Vera Sans, the second Arial, and then I saved the
document. I really didn't care what the fonts were, I just wanted some known
fonts. When you do this Libreoffice puts these fonts at the top of the font
list, separated from the entire list by a vertical bar.

Now I reopened the Lively_AlphabetonlyFirely.odp file and repeated the test.
The results were as originally reported. The Font Name drop-down box shows
"Linux Libertine Display G", but when you expand it, it did not.

The 2-character copy issue worked the same in all tests.

NOTE: When I moved my original profile back, all the recently used documents
were gone. I had to restore the user directory from a system backup.

cd $HOME/.config/libreoffice/4
mv user user.today
# Do libreoffice test
mv user.today user
# Recently used files gone

What I mean by "all the regular fonts" is the regular width and style.
I did not install any of the Condensed, Inline, or Deco fonts.
Just all the regular width fonts from Light to UltraBold with italics,
and the one Shadowed Light font.

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118897

Hi Jon,

Thanks for "the font" but I do think we need to test with all the fonts
installed.
I think part of the LO fonts problems stem from the family names, etc. not
being handled properly.
Please send me the full package of fonts so I can replicate what you had
installed.
Specifically which fonts did you have installed?

I sent you my full package of Gills Sans Nova fonts.
Please test on your system.
I had installed just all the regular fonts and the Shadowed Light - and it
appeared in the font list.
I did not install all the fonts at once though we may also want to test that
too.

I will install the same fonts you had installed and post my results back here.

Once we know how each package works on each of our systems I can examine the
font files metadata to see if I can determine why there is an issue.

Regards,

Ken

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119202] New: LibreOffice apps should not change their WM_CLASS values after being launched

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119202

Bug ID: 119202
Summary: LibreOffice apps should not change their WM_CLASS
values after being launched
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: framework
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: n...@kde.org

Description:
This bug affects all LO 6.x apps. It was not present in 5.x.

When you launch (for example) LO Writer, it creates a generic window with the
class WM_CLASS "libreoffice LibreOffice 6.0". After a moment, it changes the
WM_CLASS to "libreoffice libreoffice-writer". This causes issues in KDE Plasma:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396871

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use KDE Plasma (any recent version)
2. Use an Icons-only task manager
3. Install LibreOffice 6.x
4. Pin LO Writer to your Icons-Only Task Manager and move it so it's not the
last pinned icon
5. Click on the LO Writer icon that you've pinned to your Icons-Only Task
Manager

Actual Results:
Because the WM_CLASS value changes, a new icon is created at the end of the
list rather than the Task Manager knowing that it's an instance of the pinned
app and re-using the pinned app icon. See the video in
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396871
(https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_G69tnyXNT_CQPBC8JOCl3LIgL7zyxyB/view?usp=sharing)

Expected Results:
The WM_CLASS value should not change, which would allow the Task Manager to
know that the spawned window is an instance of the pinned app.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The issue could be resolved by having each LO app use the same WM_CLASS value
for the generic window as for the actual UI window that the user will interact
with.

(it would also be solved by doing away with the whole
immediately-spwan-a-generic-dummy-window thing entirely but I imagine that's
more architecturally complex or else it would have already been done).

Sample DOCX

This is the same case as bug 108691, but in DOCX this time, with surprisingly
different results.

Open the attached file. It has some text, and a rectangle covering most of it,
but it's set to invisible, thus it's not shown in Word.

=> The supposedly hidden shape is shown in Writer.

In DOC the shape isn't saved in the document in Word, so that case isn't
relevant.

Observed using LO 6.1.0.3 & 3.3.0 / Windows 7.

The second page - which is one huge textbox - is displayed overtop of the first
page. The same thing can be achieved interactively in 6.0.6 by reducing the
size of the frame.

This is not good enough evidence that the identified patch is problematic. It
looks like this has just exposed other existing problems with anchoring or
wrapping.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119200] New: No more possible to use regular expressions in Find toolbar

2018-08-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119200

Bug ID: 119200
Summary: No more possible to use regular expressions in Find
toolbar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.2.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: bisected, regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com
CC: serval2...@yahoo.fr

1. Create a new spreadsheet
2. Type "aa" to several cells
3. Ctrl+H; enable regular expressions; check that ".." regex finds cells
4. Close the dialog (!) - no matter which way: either using title bar close
control, or using Close button.
5. Ctrl+F, enter "..", try to find.

In 5.4.1 and previous, this worked. Starting from 5.4.2.1 and 6.0, this doesn't
work.

This is a regression from
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=97cd8e4d64632bb65445cb2f395b1385a0a2a13b
for bug 111818.

btw: I have this problem only in LibreOffice, all other programs are working as
expected (including GTK+ and Qt applications).

Makes sense, because it's not Outline.

What I don't see is why Prolog is in ToC in the first place.
But given we don't know how this was created, I would close this one as

Thanks for looking at this again.

The error persists, although I am using 6.0.6.2. If i edit a cell, and type a
German special character (like ü), the input simply overwrites the single
character repeatedly, rather than entering the word.

OpenCL is switched off, I could not find Open GL in the preferences.

Kind regards

Matthew
