Michael, so you confirm this behaviour as a bug? I can't assess this. Report

No mention why would anyone want to change "outline level", and what would it

This is not a bug. Chapter level (as shown in Navigator, and also in other
places, like ToC and cross-reference fields) does not depend on a style, but
rather on Outline Level (as configured in paragraph (style) dialog's Outline
and Numbering tab [1]). Your file's paragraphs have different outline levels
assigned to different paragraphs having that style.

See bug 137281 for documentation improvement request.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137303] New: "This PDF file is encrypted and can't be opened. " when opening any pdf file from Draw

2020-10-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137303

Bug ID: 137303
Summary: "This PDF file is encrypted and can't be opened. "
when opening any pdf file from Draw
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jitsuri...@protonmail.com

Description:
When opening any PDF file a blank document displays and on top of it a text box
with the message: "This PDF file is encrypted and can't be opened. " shows.
This started in previous versión of LO 6.4 or so, back then I could only open 1
page PDF files, nothing longer. I restarted safe mode, still the same, I
umistalled and installed 7.0.1 for worse; now it happens with any PDF file.

However this behaviour is restricted to a single Windows Session. I can open
same pdfs from other User sessions. Is there a way to clear everything in the
affected sesión related to the fault? Or can I copy the "healthy" part from
other sessions to the affected sesión? Regards

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Either right click on a pdf file, choose "Open with", navigate to LO Draw or
first open LO Draw, click "Open" and navigate to a pdf file.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
A blank document appears and on top of it there is a text box with the message:
"This PDF file is encrypted and can't be opened. "

Expected Results:
The pdf file should have opened in editable mode.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Dear Xisco Faulí,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Thank you for reporting the bug. I can confirm that the bug is not present in

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137302] New: soffice.bin CPU utilization excessive

2020-10-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137302

Bug ID: 137302
   Summary: soffice.bin CPU utilization excessive
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mr.david.mitch...@gmail.com

Description:
Installing LO V7 has driven CPU utilization to an unusable level. The problem
occurs with Linux 7.0.1.2

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Installed 7.0.1.2 via Deb's (sudo dpkg -i lib*)
2. Start Base or Writer or Calc or Math

Problem does NOT occur in Impress
Problem does NOT occur in Draw

Actual Results:
CPU utilization goes over 95% if it's sits untouched.

Expected Results:
CPU should not make the product unusable. It gets to the point where one is
unable to type a document or work on a spreadsheet.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G4400 @ 3.30GHz

Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit

Version: 7.0.1.2
Build ID: 7cbcfc562f6eb6708b5ff7d7397325de9e764452
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Video of the problem occuring: https://youtu.be/dgTLhkBh0dQ

Screen recorder is chewing up CPU creating the video, but when LO is running by
itself CPU will eventually get to 99 to 100% in 10 to 15 minutes, and it
becomes unusable. It gets to the point in Calc that after entering a number
and hitting enter, one has to wait 10 to 15 seconds before they can enter
another number.

Restarted in safe mode - no change
Restored default settings from safe mode - no change
disabled java - restarted LO - no change
disabled hardware acceleration - restarted LO - no change
disabled anti-aliasing - restarted LO - no change

I've just tried for half an hour to reproduce this with the steps I described
and my sample document, but couldn't.
So, given that it's not feasible to inspect the code to see how multiple copies
of the paste buffer can be produced from a single paste, and because I'm on a
deadline, this will have to stay in NEEDINFO for some time, sorry.

Created attachment 166140

Small Writer document formatted with Source Serif Variable

Running LibreOffice 6.4.6.2 64 bits and LibreOffice Portable 7.0.1.2 32 bits,
both on Windows 10, version 2004, 64 bits:

Versão: 6.4.6.2 (x64)
ID de compilação: 0ce51a4fd21bff07a5c061082cc82c5ed232f115
Threads da CPU: 8; SO: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; Realizador da interface:

CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: pt-BR (pt_BR); UI: en-US

On Windows, install Adobe Source Serif OpenType Variable CFF2 fonts (.otf
extension), Version 3.001, available at
"https://github.com/adobe-fonts/source-serif-pro/releases;. They are at
"source-serif-pro-3.001R.zip\source-serif-pro-3.001R\VAR\*.otf" and they appear
on the typeface selection menu as "Source Serif Variable", not as "Source Serif
Pro".

Create a new Writer document and format it with Source Serif Variable, then try
to export it as PDF. The glyphs from Source Serif Variable, CFF2 fonts (.otf
extension), are not exported to the PDF file.

Printing with Microsoft Print to PDF virtual printer works fine, but then all
bookmarks, tagging and nice things with "Export to PDF" such as Hybrid PDF
don't work.

There is a workaround: Remove the OpenType Variable CFF2 fonts (.otf
extension) and install the OpenType Variable TrueType fonts (.ttf extension).
However, TrueType fonts aren't as good for printing than the CFF2 (PostScript
outlines / .otf extension), so the exported PDF isn't as good for printing or
reading on very high DPI screens as those on eBook readers and mobile phones
(unless printed with Microsoft Print to PDF virtual printer, and then they lose
all the nice options the PDF export can do with the PDF).

Please enhance PDF export to also work with OpenType Variable CFF2 (PostScript
outlines / .otf extension). OpenType with TrueType outlines (quadratic bezier
curves) may be good for low DPI screens, but OpenType with PostScript outlines
(cubic bezier curves) are better for printing and very high DPI screens found
on mobile phones and specialized eBook readers.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126638] macOS: Can't paste in Save-As field on Catalina

2020-10-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126638

Almost every LibreOffice file I create has a file name determined from our
document database. It is a right royal PAIN to not be able to paste the file
name into the Save As dialog!

This bug does not appear to be related to any particular version of MacOS. It
appeared before the Catalina version of MacOS.

This bug showed up several LibreOffice versions ago - actually it showed up
when I changed from a downloaded LibreOffice on Mac to using the AppStore
LibreOffice Vanilla. Before LibreOffice Vanilla this bug was not there - I
could paste filenames into the Save As dialog. I was hoping that by downloading
the latest LibreOffice 7 I would no longer have this bug, but I am
disappointed.

Please, Please, Please FIX THIS! I am almost ready to give up on LibreOffice!

Another commenter called this a nuisance issue -- for me (and others in this
small business office) it is a very big issue!

It is the intended behavior that text on a line follows the line.

Every line gets automatically a rotation. If you draw a line from right to
left, you introduce a 180° rotation and the text is 180° rotated too.

To get upright text use a straight connector instead of a line.

If "Apply User Data" is checked in File - Properties, then this happens in L0

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99613] optional Paramaters for IF is optional

2020-10-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99613

I am not sure if I understand the original bug correctly, but I think there is
an actual issue with the documentation or the IF function. The Logical
Functions help page
(https://help.libreoffice.org/7.0/en-US/text/scalc/01/04060105.html?=WRITER=UNIX)
talks about optional parameters using a hypothetical 4 parameter function.

"In the LibreOffice Calc functions, parameters marked as "optional" can be left
out only when no parameter follows. For example, in a function with four
parameters, where the last two parameters are marked as "optional", you can
leave out parameter 4 or parameters 3 and 4, but you cannot leave out parameter
3 alone."

By applying this example to the IF function, where parameters 2 and 3 are
optional, you can use it with all 3 parameters included or with parameters 1
and 2 only, but you can't use it with parameters 1 and 3 with 2 left out.

This is the expected behaviour:
=IF(A1>5,100,"too small") is valid. If A1 <= 5 it returns "too small" otherwise
it returns 100.
=IF(A1>5,100) is also valid. It returns 100 if A1 > 5 is TRUE, and FALSE
otherwise. Parameter 3 is left out, but that's okay because no parameter
follows it.
=IF(A1>5, , "too small") is invalid because you can only leave out optional
parameters if no parameters follow. But in this case, the optional parameter 2
is left out and followed by a parameter. You'd expect an error, it shouldn't
work based on the statement in the documentation.

But you can leave out parameter 2 and it still does something, even though the
documentation says it can't be left out.
=IF(A1>5, , "too small"), A1 > 5 it returns 0, if it is <= 5, it returns "too
small"

If the documentation is correct, it should not interpret an empty parameter as
a 0 and use that as the ThenValue. If the documentation is wrong, then how it
handles empty parameters needs to be discussed in the documentation.

Here is a workaround how you can recover the data:

given file.odt

*unzip file.odt in a temporary directory.

* edit contents.xml.

  replace "float" => "string"

  delete all occurrences of office:value="0"

  save

* zip file_new.odt *

* open file_new.odt

LO will see it is broken but can repair it.

tdf#127635 sw_redlinehide: put point at the end of deletion
SwWrtShell::Insert() is called with a selection, so it first calls
DeleteAndJoin() to get rid of the selection.

With redlining enabled, this leaves the cursor as it was before, so if
the point was at the start it still is at the start, so the following
Insert will insert at the start of the selection.

But then AutoCorrect wants to do things and it uses TextFrameIndex and
ViewToModelPos and gets a result at the end of the delete redline,
while the cursor remains at the start of the delete redline.

Avoid this by swapping the selection after DeleteAndJoin() (and also
DeleteRange() for consistency) so that insertion happens at end of
redline (swap "above" DoWithBreaks because it creates temporary PaMs).

(regression from sw_redlinehide)

How end-users can do that ?
It seems to me that you answered at developer level, not for the end-user.
The idea in my original proposition was to make the end-user able to dock any
toolbar in the sidebar.
Please explain how you can actually do that.

detect if a cell still needs interpreting after Interpret()
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=51878
after hard-recalc asserts because of not having cell dependencies
non-dirty for threaded calculation. This is because Interpret()
actually sometimes returns without computing a value for the cell,
e.g. when it backs out because of a need to do iteration.
This is handled when Interpret() is called from InterpretTail(),
but ScDependantsCalculator does not handle this and considers
all cells interpreted, unless it detected a problem.
We've already fixed a number of such bugs, and given that there
are still problematic corner cases after all this time, add code
simply detecting this generic problem and avoiding threading
in that case, with a SAL_WARN. This does not fix the problem
itself, but at least now it's handled.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137298] New: Not possible to edit any fields inserted from Docinformation tab

2020-10-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137298

Bug ID: 137298
Summary: Not possible to edit any fields inserted from
Docinformation tab
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sdc.bla...@youmail.dk

1. Ctrl-F2 (Insert - Fields - More Fields)- Docinformation tab
2. Insert any Type.
3. Double-click the inserted Field (i.e., Edit Field)

Actual result (generalized):
Not possible to edit any field of any Type from Docinformation (except for
changing Format of Time and Date fields).

Expected result: ???

Additional information:

1. Maybe not supposed to be edited? In that case, Edit Field dialog should
only be possible if a Time or Date field (to change format).

2. Maybe some Fields should be editable.

3. Hidden agenda: If possible to edit Type "Created", Select "Author", then
it would resolve bug 103212 and bug 117954

4. Tested with 7.1.0.0.alpha, but possibly "Inherited"

Also, I'm not sure to understand your problem.
Do you have a crash when doing:
- launch Writer
- Menu Insert
- Special Character
?
Or do you have a crash when using specific shortcut keys?
If shortcut case, which shortcuts?

Could you try to rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Windows) and give a new try?

Also, please use English so more people may intervene here.
Also, could you provide link to crash report? It may provide some hints.

Can edit "Title", "Subject" and "Keywords" in File->Properties, and have it
appear in an exported PDF -- at least since LO6.3 But still not possible for
"Author" in 7.1.0.0.alpha which is also reported in bug 117954 -- so marking

With Ubuntu here, mouse- cursor over the file symbol or name. Click mouse
(right button), "Properties" "permissions". At lowest box of the dialogue
"Make file executable". Close dialogue box. Doubleclick the file. Works for
you?

With all the project here, there's a user impression that all or any
LibreOffice full install may start correctly then later charts stop updating
(sometimes whole sheets of charts). Thank you for your test 7.0.1.1 ( an
installed version).

I will be using only AppImage for a few days or weeks with several files to
learn if it's more "stable", temporary fix or a permanent repair (only for
continuous AppImage use in future).

For a few more days now I'm working through the .xml (including content.xml)
files of your LiggerV26 to find if there's an obvious difference. I've found
some differences already. For a developer who looks at this, VLB's file has
the chart (not updating) Object number 15. AppImage keeps the same object
numbers; cleans up (removes) some ObjectReplacements; sets additional loext
values in content.xml etcetera. I'll report later if something seems pertinent
about that.

Both versions open on LO. I tried ODF Validator 1.3 https://odfvalidator.org/,
here are the results:

old one:
he document is NOT conformant ODF 'Missing ODF version'!
Details:
declar_old.odt: Fatal: Unexpected record signature: 0X0

new one:
7 errors in styles.xml
21 in content.xml
each time in loext (so extension of 1.3)

loext:graphic-properties" is not allowed. Possible tag names are:
,,
unexpected attribute "loext:allow-overlap"
unexpected attribute "loext:opacity"

You may try to use ODF 1.3 strict to generate the file before the merge to see
if it's better but it seems you may need to tune your merge process to adapt to
the format of the original file which has indeed changed.

One thing to test, it's verify if there are direct formats out of the working
space, or a lot of conditional formats. LibreOffice don't like them, and even
on the working space if you can avoid it and use styles, maybe can help.
Also use the navigator to search for unexpected objects.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137297] New: Improved styles handling in Impress (add List and Character Styles)

2020-10-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137297

Bug ID: 137297
Summary: Improved styles handling in Impress (add List and
Character Styles)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rafael.palma.l...@gmail.com

On Impress there are two types of styles that currently are not present,
however they would be very useful:

1) List Styles: would allow the user to define different list formatting to be
quickly applied to each new line. Because most presentations are structured
using list outlines, this could significantly improve user experience.

2) Character Styles: would enable the definition of character-based styles,
which could be applied when the user inputs some text in a sentence such as an
equation or programming code. With this feature the user will be able to
alternate between styles inside the same sentence in a more productive manner.

Both of these types are available in Writer, but not in Impress. Currently
Impress only supports Drawing and Presentation styles.

I am a very frequent user of Writer/Impress and I can tell that in Writer these
types of styles help a lot. And on Impress it would make it much easier to
prepare presentations with better styling.

Would this feature be too hard to implement into Impress as well?

I have test attachment 166115 in wi10 LO 7.0.1.1 (x64).

All graphs work, except for the graph on the 1st sheet "invoer". This chart
will not be updated.

I have download the file AppImage. I also tried to use the file in Ubuntu, but
my knowledge in Ubuntu is limited.
How do I make the file executable?
