Hi All,
Thanks for your input with the mac subject, I have now got a slight
problem on the PC, originally the client wanted me to make a folder on
the users computer and copy a file from the cd to it... so I made the
script using the baCopyFile function to the users c:\ drive...
However now
Nik,
Since you are using the version 2.2.2 of PDF Xtra, do you know if the
peoples who experienced this hanging issue are opening their PDFs with
Acrobat/Reader 6?
Acrobat/Reader 6 started to be supported with PDF Xtra 3, so it would
make sense that they are having problem opening their PDFs if
I think you are missing a back slash here - \ Download but I could be
wrong:
set OK = baCopyFile( the moviePath biog1\biog1.doc , Thomas
\Download , Always+ )

Hi Michael,
2 ideas:
1) if you only want to block lingo generated alerts, not error alerts,
just put a
on alert
nothing
end
in some movie script of your miaw, which overwrites the alert command.
2) instead of changing the alerthook you could also have different
return values in your alerthook
In the cast window, thumbnail view, there's a way to set a bitmap or pattern
for cast members. E.g., you could have all your parent scripts red, all your
behaviors yellow, and so on. You can also do patterns like stripes.
How do you do that? It's a great visual cue when you have a lot of cast
On a PC, select the cast member. THen select the thumbnail image of the
of member in the Property Inspector. Right click on the thumbnail and
you can copy/paste thumbnails.

Property Inspector.
Right click the icon for the cast member.
You can clear, copy, or paste the bitmap.
Some of the standard sizes are: 55x41, 110x81, and 165x123.

I think the only standard size is that which matches the thumbnails in
the Behavior Libraries. I think thats 21 X 21 pixels off memory. There
is some scaling involved with your cast preferences, and the dimensions
of the source image. All of which play into the quality of the thumbnail
image. A
I know you can get it via member(x).thumbnail, but can you set it that way
as well?

Yes, and there are a number of movie/parent scripts floating about to
make it easy. IIRC Alex da Franca has a nice one, and Frank Di Luzio
even has a tool xtra

Same works on a Mac. Control-click if you don't have two mouse buttons.
You can also use lingo to automate the process after
You can use any size you want. Doesnt matter in the least bit.
Thumbnails do have an optimal size, 21 X 21 or whatever it is, at which
they do not get scaled up or down. Anything else gets its thumbnail
scaled which can be detrimental to some well thought out artwork. Its
not that the image data
Yeah, I know the 165x123 gets scaled down, but it is also rectangular,
whereas 26x26 isn't. 55x41, thenif you're at medium size, anyway, is
what huge images get scaled down to. (I tend to like the director-scaling
that happens with the 165x123...)
