Tom,
It seems that you've already recieved some good advice but I haven't seen this one
discussed:
1)
do I use an activeX control browser? When I try this and
place the icon on the stage nothing comes up?
If you are trying to use Director's own ActiveX Control Xtra then this is expected

Yes, Audio Xtra from http://updateStage.com is a very comprehensive tool
for doing what you want, and another great tool can be found at
http://www.physicalbits.com/ .
I've been working with both, so feel free to ask specific questions off list.

The source of the weird problem with AudioXtra and NN 7 under OS X has now
been discovered. Many thanks to Gretchen of updateStage.com and others who
tested my page and pointed me in the right direction.
I also learned something about the Shockwave plugin installation under OS X.

This was an interesting problem. I'm sure there are official
anti-aliasing routines out there, but I decided to try and work one
out for myself. I ran into an interesting
I found the recording quality with Audio Xtra to be exactly as good as it
is with the Windows Sound Recorder. The mic volume that you set in the
mixer, the sound parameters that you select, and the use/disuse of the mic
boost (if your sound driver offers it) all affect the final sound quality
BTW, calling that routine two or three times gives even nicer results.

Excellent.
I added setAlpha and useAlpha in order to preserve my transparency but
other than that it works great. Appreciate the help.

Write the rollover and mouse behaviors as parent scripts and apply them thusly:
Hi Tom,
Sorry to be a few days late in getting to you on this.
I am currently using the Active-X browser control in a projector for a
major project, and it seems to be working fine. We are beta-testing the
