I see the initial messages on the Operating System Messages screen, but the
installation abends and drops to a prompt.
There is a log file in /run which I am trying to copy to a USB drive so I can
look at it.
How can I copy the file to the USB

Hi Gadi - I haven't installed Linux in an LPAR myself.. though I've
installed z/VM lots of times -- which uses the Integrated 3270 console...
my guess would be the ASCII console for Linux -- that's what I would try

Gadi,
A colleague of mine found that when installing RHEL7 native in an LPAR,
the PARM file entries had to fit entirely on one long line. RHEL7 doesn't
prompt for missing entries and won't read any line beyond the first.

Thanks Scott,
Which should it be, the ascii console or the 3270 console?

Any document or procedure would help me to try.

Dave - good question ...
It sounds like Gadi didn't start up either integrated console before
IPLing? It might be that simple.. start up one or the other before
doing the ipl.

I don't think you need to copy the log file to a USB stick before you
can look at it. what device are you using on the LPAR to be the Linux
