This project doesn't look as simple as I first thought it would be. Running
many excel macros on a windows pc is very time consuming and costs overtime. I
asked our programmer to send me a copy of the code for a simple program and the
most complex program. I will check it out and see if I can
Our operators run many excel vb macros for production on a windows pc. I
wanted to move this workload to a virtual linux machine on our ifl. Does anyone
have any suggestions for an excel replacement that will run on a linux virtual
machine under z/vm?

Hi all. I am new to linux and looking for some help. I have an ifl on a

Hi. From information I have gathered from this list I tried to clone a

update a file I get a message that it is read-only. When I booted this
system I see messages

I experienced the same problem on an MP3000 in an lpar. I installed via
FTP just fine. The problem occurred when I tried to boot the new linux
for the first time. The problem that I had and verified by IBM is that
the LCS driver is broken in lpar mode. This was not a problem under VM
however. I
If you have your answer sorry for the posting I am in digest
mode. When I installed SLES 9 from a windows 2000 machine I had to use
the WAR FTP product and set up it's virtual file system so it could
resolve the directory structure linux needed for the installation. From

mounted my sles9 install volume at /zoltan and ran chroot /zoltan
SuSEconfig and all looked ok. I then try to umount /zoltan but it tells
me the device is busy. I noticed there is a force option for the umount
command but I am

don't know if dasd_mod will then automatically
load dasd_eckd_mod or not. If not, then just
insmod dasd_eckd_mod
After that, you should be able to mount your file systems.

Thanks for the suggestions!., I was able to get sles9 installation
