I thought of buying an Intel Chipset MODEM, like the one's you get with new

Simply run 'free'

I thought you were aiming at a bit more than that.

How can I switch the GNOME 2 Windows Manager to Sawfish? I'm using
Mandrake 9.0 and Metacity is the default, but it is quite limited in its

Hi People,
KDE 3.0.4 RPMS for Red Hat 7.3 and Red Hat 8.0 (the normal KDE look, not the new
redhat's look) can be retrived from:
http://download.kde.org/stable/3.0.4/RedHat/
most of the hebrew related bugs were fixed there (thanks lars) and it should be very
stable.
Enjoy,
Hetz
Nope, won't run - seems like not all the mirrors has synced yet..
try this direct link:
http://download.uk.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.0.4/RedHat/ - both 8.0 and 7.3 are there,
and if you want Meni's hebrew translation - don't forget to take it from the noarch
directory.

Good on you!
I have similar concerns about the road that RED HAT is choosing to take,
looks like the thickness part in red hat's brain is growing, I hope its

Hi,
Intel's modem are good and supported well under Linux. Connexant based (HSF
and HCF) are also supported well, but with the HSF variant you cannot send

Old winmodems which uses the Lucent chipset can be used as well under Linux

I wouldn't judge RH as harshly as you but there is one very important
technical comment that I would like to make:
NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER trust upgrades
Says who? few weeks ago I upgraded my Pentium 350 Gateway from Red Hat 6.1 to
7.3 - guess what? I only needed to modify reboot,
I was VERY impressed with the install process. I chose Advanced mode
installation, but the bottom line is that everything was autodetected
(except for the fact that my mouse has a wheel, for some strange
reason). This even includes a USB HP scanner! Very impressive. The only
problem I found

The good news are that the password is not
