Hi Mauro,
I saw you've pulled in my tree, I assume this is for Linus for 2.6.32, I hope
this pull request is also still in time for 2.6.32 (it adds support to
an existing driver for a new bridge, no changes to the code for already
supported bridges, so in essence it is a new driver).

The event count may be useful for the reason Laurent mentioned. In case we

Dear Devin,
in the changeset 12886:ba22a9decfab was added a device called
USB_PID_PINNACLE_PCTV73ESE, with id 0245
However, the vendor is USB_VID_PINNACLE ( 0x2304 ) instead of 0x2013 (
as reported for my usb dvb by lsusb )
How can I fix it? How can I create a new vendor with the correct ID,

I suggest using 0 instead of 0x07ff. Yes, 0 is still a magic number, but
somehow it feels a lot less magic :-)

Devin,
thanks for the support.
In the meanwhile, can I try to force the new vendor id?
Since I have another pinnacle USB device, I was thinking about
creating a new vendor (something like USB_VID_PINNACLE2).
Is it enough to add it just after the USB_VID_PINNACLE definition and
change the 57th

As you might know, all Japanese DTV programs are scrambled with BCAS.
BCAS scrambling algorithm itself is opend in the standard,
but in addition to that, PC devices have to encrypt received data
