Well mine I guess isn't quite as bad. I haven't had to send it back but need to for
this issue. Mine hangs on the pcmcia chipset on a warm reboot and 1 time out of 10
hangs resuming from suspend.

Just maybe you have the same problem I have. Wiggle your card and see if that causes
it. My slot seems to have a loose connection and eny card that hangs out like a USB
or wireless gets bumped and cuases lockups. I just can't be without my box long
enough for Dell to fix it :)

I need to check my model number, but I think I have the same card. I wrote a 641M cd
in 131 seconds so I guess that to be about a 300M/minute throughput. Kernel is 2.4.22.

If you know for sure the modules support the hardware you should simply be able to add
an entry to the usb.usermap under /etc/hotplug
