I'm not sure why people want to do this? Is it because you use different
accounts with different isp's, and when on isp A you want to use
smtp.a.co.nz and when on isp B you want to use smtp.b.co.nz, c

Just installed it. Can't set outgoing mail transport on a per-account
basis. Looks reasonably configurable. Doesn't do mbox, although there's
something about "defining an mbox". Can anyone explain to me why every
single GUI mail client these days suffer

yes, well it won't handle contacts or calendaring at all IMHO.

I have done the same, it is very cool however it doesnt handle the contacts folder
correctly. I am connecting to the exchange server as an IMAP4 server.
I also tried balsa, I compiled pspell and libesm

I just installed sylpheed, pointed it at the exchange server, and it works straight
off.
Bloody marvellous! now to find a windows version as a half-way house.

One of sylpheed's best features is that it starts very quickly - a definite
plus if you're running an older machine. It's never caused me grief either.
