glibc-2.1.2-3.i386.rpm
Is it safe to uninstall the old rpm before installing this one over it?

of windows95 and replace it with linux so that I may play. I have tried
loading Redhat 6.1, Mandrake 7.0, and Caldera 2.3. All three have given me

Be very careful what you do with glibc. If you glibc is not
installed/upgraded correctly, you will render your entire system
unbootable, *permanently*.
If you're trying to reinstall the same exact RPM, then it should be
