I found the libcrypt library in the col 2.4 disks. It is in the glibc-2.1.2-3.i386.rpm Is it safe to uninstall the old rpm before installing this one over it? Should I just use -force to make it install? Is this a really bad idea? Joel ___

Be very careful what you do with glibc. If you glibc is not installed/upgraded correctly, you will render your entire system unbootable, *permanently*. If you're trying to reinstall the same exact RPM, then it should be safe, although i'd wonder why you're suddenly missing files. --- Joel
