Maybe you could change the Makefile so that it creates symbolic links to
/bin/busybox instead of
hardlinks. The only drawback to this is that you end up using one inode per

I had the same problem. printk() uses the CPM UART driver, and the
initialisation of the CPM UART
driver uses m8xx_cpm_dpalloc(). If you make m8xx_cpm_dpalloc() use printk()
then you create a
dependency loop. Don't do it.

All,
Has anybody had any luck getting PCMCIA to work on an MPC860?
I have a custom MPC860 board, with a single PCMCIA socket connected to Slot B.
This is what I have
so far done:
1.
Downloaded pcmcia-cs-3.2.0.tar.gz
2.
Added board specific definitions in modules/m8xx_pcmcia.c for
I remember that I had to change something about the
request_irq /
request_8xxirq.
I think the oops comes because the driver can't request the irq!!!
Could you please show us you're oops!?

It's smart to tell you which routine caused the trouble.

Hi list,
I'm trying to boot a linux-2.6.11 kernel on a MPC83xx based board. Through
some experimentation I have found I need console=uart,io,0xfe004500
in the kernel command line in order to get any output over the serial
port.
Half way through initialisation the kernel appears to swap from its

Hi,
I called it the FADS_BUG because I first saw it on the FADS board and I
assumed that the problem was particular to the FADS board. Since then I
have also seen the problem on our bespoke board. However, I found that
changing RCCR[DRQP] from 01b - which Motorola recommends - to 10b fixed
