I'd like to get into motorcycle design, so having a (semi)life sized
bike to play with helps with the visualisation.

controller is, that area's simply too small to fit anything in

I think you need to keep flooded battery like the one shown upright.
You probably should be looking at AGM batterys for non-upright
mounting. me
